This study was carried out to test the recuperative effect of 2 types of sample drugs for 3 degree burn. The burn injury was made by iron plate heated in the boiling water. The Sprague Dawley rats were shaven with a razor preliminarily and burned by direct contact method for 10 seconds. The experimental groups were classified with 5 each-normal, control, MEBO ointment, sample A, sample B. The effect of the sample drugs were decided by histological results after 3 week application. The results were as following. The 3 treatment groups recovered the burn injury faster than control group. The recuperative effect precedes about 4-5 days at the time of 15th day and 1 week at the time of 3rd week. The therapeutical procedure of 3 treatment groups was similar with naked eye and with microscopic histology in the 1 st, 2nd and 3rd specimens. So there weren't significant differences in curative effect in 3 treatment groups of this experiment. But a regeneration of hair follicle was noted in Sample B uniquely. These results suggested that 3 burn remedies have similar effect of therpy, but sample B containing yolk sac oil has slightly better effect in part of hair regeneration.
The door systems in urban railway vehicles, through heavy maintenance checks by six years, 75 parts for 34 part types in 75 units have to be replaced periodically, and the remaining 68 parts for 40 part types to be replaced occasionally based on the necessity. Even though this process makes the door systems almost to be initial status, the systems have complicated mixes of components with new parts and used and then have different property from the original ones. This study suggested a burn-in test as a subsidiary tool to improve the reliability of urban railway vehicles, and suitable for testing conditions and the proposed new target value.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate post-burn itching relevant characteristics in the rehabilitation phase. Methods: Ninety four burn patients who were hospitalized in the rehabilitation phase participated in the study. Self-reported Leuven itch scale-Korean was used to evaluate itching related characteristics. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, $x^2$ test, and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: All subjects except two had the itching. Itching frequency revealed that 68.1% of subjects experienced itching one or more episodes a day or always, and 18.7% had episode durations lasting more than 2 hours per incidence. Mean severity and distress of itching was $5.3{\pm}2.4$ and $5.2{\pm}2.5$, respectively. Itching sensation dimension of tickling was 56.4%. More than 25% of subjects "often" or "always" affected reduced quality of life, loss of concentration, bad mood, and difficulty in falling asleep. Satisfaction with itching treatment was intermediate level. Conclusion: Post-burn itching in the rehabilitation phase was a significant problem despite pruritus treatment. Based on the finding of this study, development of comprehensive and tailored nursing intervention programs for itching could be suggested.

In order to decrease fuel comsumption rate and emissions, lean burn engine which has equipped swirl control valve, is investigated experimentally on the test bench. Single cylinder engine was used to test the combustion and emission performance with 4 kinds of swirl valve. Decrease in the carbon monoxide, hyerocarbon and specific fuel consumption was shown at the lean condition, which means that a good choice of swirl valve on the given intake port geometry can be used to increase the combustion efficiency and lean limit.
Combustion analysis based on cylinder-pressure provides a mechanism through which a combustion researcher can understand the combustion process. The objective of this paper was to identify the most significant sources of cycle-to-cycle combustion variability in a spark ignition engine at idle. To analyse the cyclic variation in a test engine, the burn parameters are determined on a cycle-to-cycle basis through the analysis of the engine pressure data. The burn rate analysis program was used here and the burn parameters were used to determine the variations in the input parameter-i. e., fuel, air, and residual mass. In this study, we investigated the relationship of indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP), coefficient of variation (COV) of IMEP, burn angles, and lowest normalized value (LNV) in a spark ignition engine in a view of cyclic variations.

As the 4th industrial age approaches, the demand for semiconductors is increasing enough to be used in all electronic devices. At the same time, semiconductor technology is also developing day by day, leading to ultraprecision and low power consumption. Semiconductors that keep getting smaller generate heat because the energy density increases, and the generated heat changes the shape of the semiconductor package, so it is important to manage. The temperature change is not only self-heating of the semiconductor package, but also heat generated by external damage. If the package is deformed, it is necessary to manage it because functional problems and performance degradation such as damage occur. The package burn in test in the post-process of semiconductor production is a process that tests the durability and function of the package in a high-temperature environment, and heat dissipation performance can be evaluated. In this paper, we intend to review a new material formulation that can improve the performance of the adapter, which is one of the parts of the test socket used in the burn-in test. It was confirmed what characteristics the basic base showed when polyamide, a high-molecular material, and alumina, which had high thermal conductivity, were mixed for each magnification. In this study, functional evaluation was also carried out by injecting an adapter, a part of the test socket, at the same time as the specimen was manufactured. Verification of stiffness such as tensile strength and flexural strength by mixing ratio, performance evaluation such as thermal conductivity, and manufacturing of a dummy device also confirmed warpage. As a result, it was confirmed that the thermal stability was excellent. Through this study, it is thought that it can be used as basic data for the development of materials for burn-in sockets in the future.
Research was undertaken to compare the pharmacological activity of Lithospermi radix (LR) reported as an oriental medicine for classical uses. LR contains naphthoquinone pigments : shikonin, acetylshikonin, isobutylshikonin, etc. LR is used for the treatment of excision wound, burn, eczema, blister, scarlatina and septicemia as antifebrile, antidotic and antiphlogistic. Gardeniae fructus (GF) has been used for the treatment to jaundice, hepatic disease, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, and it contains crocin, geniposide and its derivatives. The therapeutic effects of burn and excision wound healing from LR & GF hydrogel with $Nano-ATP^{\circledR}$ (GLN) were investigated. To evaluate the therapeutic value of various hydrogels, thermal burn model and excision wound mouse model were used. The burn and wound reduction rate and therapeutic period were measured to calculate the healing extent after 5 experiments. The 2nd degree burn was prepared on hairless mouse back skin and dressing with collagen. The burn and wound reduction rate of GLN hydrogel treated group decreased more rapidly than that of other gel group in animal model. Furthermore therapeutic periods of GLN hydrogel treated group was shorter than that of other gel group. In anti-inflammatory test, GLN hydrogel treated group decreased edema rapidly than that of other gel group. These results suggest that the GLN hydrogel treatment has an therapeutic effect on burn and excision wound healing.

Purpose: The aims of this study were to discuss treatment and prevention under the age of 18 to identify the characteristics of the electrical burn patients. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 97 patients with under age 18 of electric burn who were treated in emergency department of quarterly over 10,000 targets within the desired hospital for evaluation of electrical injuries between January 1, 2009 and December, 2013. We investigated age, gender, injury mechanism, season, degree of burn, surface of burn, complication, blood test, and voltage, kind of current. Results: Of the patients, 50 (50.5%) patients were in the first degree burn and 47 (49.5%) patients were in second degree burn. 68 (70.1%) patients had electric burn at home. 75 (85.2%) of 88 patients had normal sinus rhythm and other 13 people showed a RBBB, VPC, sinus bradycardia, sinus tachycardia. 41 (42.3) of 97 patients were in infants and 26 (26.8%) patients were in adolescence. Conclusion: The results of this study emphasize the need for prevention of electricity at home for childhood and education of the adolescence.
