For the sake of activating web-based reading education in the public libraries, This study examine the practical use of web-based reading education and research into its activation. Web-based reading, red the book at any time/where with librarian and user, is to achieve the goal of reading education. The methods are to set up Home page of reading education through Internet, to guide user in various web-based reading materials and reading planning at any time. In addition, It is to be completed interactive action such as book review, reading dicussion through E-mail, a bulletin board, chatting etc. with librarian or user.

After researching users'satisfaction on central library service of Daejin university, it shows that they are generally satisfied with facilities but not with the service that supports library use, and satisfied with a book and serial Publications but not with others including thesis. Also, it is shown that librarians in communication with users are insufficient, and their professionalism and capacity are acknowledged but their insincerity and perfunctory attitude are viewed negative to users. Therefore librarians need to actively promote their service to users. Besides, it will be beneficial for librarians to use bulletin board of homepage as a way to continuously reflect claims and complaints from users.

In this paper, we design and implement a web-based courseware where learners can do self-directed learning to study Web programming languages such as Html, CSS, JavaScript and Dhtml. Each section consists of text class, movie class, practice class, formative assessment, laboratory and bulletin board. And our courseware makes teachers to teach, assess and give scores to learners on Web. In our Web courseware, learners can play a movie class and practice Web programming codes in one screen simultaneously, and execute codes and confirm a results in the same screen also. Therefore, learners can understand Web programming languages efficiently, which are hard to understand immediately by text.

This study examines the use of hedges in cross-cultural communication between EFL learners in an e-learning environment. The study analyzes the use of hedges in a corpus of an interactive web with a bulletin board system through which college students of English at Japanese and Korean universities interacted with each other discussing the topics of local and global issues. It compares the use of hedges in the students' corpus to that of a native English speakers' corpus. The result shows that EFL learners tend to use relatively smaller number of hedges than the native speakers in terms of the frequencies of the total tokens. It further reveals that the learners' overuse of a single versatile high-frequency hedging item, I think, results in relative underuse of other hedging devices. This indicates that due to their small repertoire of hedges, EFL learners' overuse of a limited number of hedging items may cause their speech or writing to become less competent. Based on the result and interviews with the learners, the study also argues that hedging should be understood in its social contexts and should not be understood just as a lack of conviction or a mark of low proficiency. Suggestions were made for using computer corpora in understanding EFL learners' language difficulties and helping them develop communicative and pragmatic competence.

This study is to design and implement Excel 2000 WBI applying the Cognitive Apprentice Model. Excel 2000 is the most used Spread Sheet program and indispensable for increasing teachers' information literacy. The Cognitive Apprentice Model is one of Constructivism learning models. Constructivism is a new educational paradigm and mainly applied in education fields. This WBI is designed and implemented according to the Cognitive Apprentice Model and composed of practical contents according to Constructivism learning principle which insists learning is occurred in real situation. For more effective interaction the teacher(computer) guides the learners individually and uses a bulletin board, E-mail and chatting room.

The purpose of our study is to develop a prototype groupware environment that addresses the different phases of meetings as well as to provide for customizable meetings. We describe several components that can be used to support the entire life-cycle of a distributed meeting. Our design is based on the premise that meetings are comprised of three stages: pre-meeting setup, during meeting activities, and post-meeting teardown. Additionally, meetings are individual, each requiring a different set of tools and applications. Our protype contains six components to support these stages. These components are electronic mail, bulletin board, organizer, agendas, virtual meeting room, and storyboard viewer.

Environmental pollution induced by food wastes is considered as one of very serious problems in the world, and it is the most important to reduce the production of food wastes. In this study, environmental campaign for reducing food waste was conducted by applying various campaign methods using such as a bulletin board, intra-network, slogans & posters and news letters, as well as some systems such as penalty and prize in a business & industry foodservice. We investigated customers' recognition and execution degree before and after environmental campaign for the purpose of analyzing the changes of customers' attitude by the campaign. The subjects of this study had generally high level of recognition of environmental problem(3.09 point) compared to the execution degree(1.88 point)(Max. 5 points), implying necessity for the induction of actual execution of food wastes reduction by continuous environmental campaign. After environmental campaign, the recognition of environmental problem related to food wastes was significantly increased from 3.09 point to 3.29 point (p<0.001), and the execution degree for food wastes reduction was also greatly increased from 1.88 to 2.70 point (p<0.001). These changes indicated that campaign for food wastes reduction has raised customers' recognition and execution for environmental protection.

The elementary school age is a critical period in the formation of environmental attitudes, environmental knowledge, and sensitivity. In this study, we examined how they affect environmental education programs that utilize traditional culture in the 6th grade of elementary school students' environmental attitudes. Attitudes questionnaire and activity sheets were analyzed to figure out the change in attitude of the students, we analyzed the activity sheets. As a result, the environmental education program that utilize traditional culture had a positive impact on the improvement of elementary school students' environmental attitudes. Analysis of students' Internet bulletin board posts, the amount of writing was increased. In addition, the sensitivity to the environment of the students were changed. Students, was considered not related to their environmental problems. However, after programming experience, they found that environmental problems are directly related to them.

Increasing interest in computer-mediated learning technologies has prompted educators to incorporate them into many learning environments ; however, there is still little evaluative evidence to support their effectiveness. This report describes the development and evaluation of a web-based instructional program on basic nursing science for nursing students. Researcher-designed questionnaires were used to assess the characteristics of our students, and to solicit their ratings of the instructional program on ease of use, accuracy of content, clarity of content, interest, and convenience of the program, using 5-point Likert scales. The respondents indicated that the package was easy and convenient to use, with high technical quality, and of a level challenging to some but not all of the students. On-line quizzes were most highly rated. Also it was confirmed that frequent users of electronic bulletin board showed much higher achievement score than that of nonfrequent users. It was also found that the effect of cyber education was dependent on the active participation of the students. These data suggest that the use of web-based instructional program as a distance education strategy can be an effective method for nursing students and nurses.

The mobile agent is receiving the attention as new technique to retrieve and to share the distributed contents on web-based educational systems. The retrieval using mobile agent uses the method that delivers the agent to accomplish a search in direct server in substitute for it is transmitted a many contents to accomplish an efficient search. This study proposed the model of retrieval system that shares and searches the distributed educational contents of the bulletin board and newsgroup by using the mobile agent. In order to evaluate the efficiencies of the system that is proposed, we did the comparison test on the search model of existing and proposing system. By a test result, we confirmed network traffics of proposed system are diminished. Moreover we gave proof the fact that the optimum search time of the mobile agent-based system is shortened.
