Because of the airtightness of building, misuse of building materials and abuse of furniture, indoor air pollution problems have been increasingly concerned especially with apartment buildings. To improve the IAQ(Indoor Air Quality) in apartment building, this study was aimed at analyzing the factor of interior building material and furniture and calculating the ventilation rate of living room and bed room according to the surface area of interior building material and furniture in terms of VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds) and HCHO(Formaldehyde). The results of this study are as follows; 1) In the concerned rooms, the living room has less pollution emission rate L(surface area/volume) than that of the bed room but, the living room needs more ventilation rate than that of the bed room because of built-in furniture in terms of VOCs and HCHO. 2) Built-in interior furniture is very important factor in IAQ problems of apartment building, but until now there is no provision about the built-in furniture, so that the provision must be regulated to control the IAQ. 3) To control the IAQ problem, the effective ventilation plans must be established according to the required ventilation rate by means of natural or mechanical ventilation method.

This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. This furniture and built-in machine will get a communication ability with user in the living and kitchen space. And it will include a high technology like as RFID, home network and so on.

Reflecting a particular place and time, from the agrarian society, through the Industrial Age, furniture has been one of the closest factors to our housing life and developed continuously. The information age representing digital, information and telecommunication generally gave a wide range of individuals and societies various phases of culture shock that had never been experienced so far, among which the change of the attitude toward work and marriage influenced on housing life style, they have required unexplored style and function of furniture additionally. People so called the singles has recently become a culture code reflecting the present time, they already have built their own territories in society, economy and culture. The ideas about a variety of furniture for the singles, which consider the housing culture of the singles, has been floated, therefore furniture for the singles are main streamed into home furniture category, required characteristics of furniture for the singles are drawn, furthermore some design examples are suggested on the basis of those characteristics in this study.

오늘날 우리나라의 주거문화가 일반주택에서 아파트 주거환경으로 확산되면서 안방가구 장롱에 변화도 일반장에서 붙박이장과 같은 맞춤형가구로 변화해 가고 있다. 소비자의 생활이 풍족하고 여유로워 짐으로써 안방가구도 개개인의 소비자 욕구에 맞는 형식과 기능, 디자인 특성으로 바뀌어져 가고 있다. 따라서 붙박이장의 특성으로 구조, 기능, 소재를 고찰하여 기본적인 변화를 분석하고, 일반장과 붙박이장을 비교 분석하여 환경에서의 변화요소와 편리성에서의 변화요소를 분석하였다. 또한 소비자의 자가지 특성과 개성에 맞는 형태와 디자인을 개발하기 위하여 다양한 소비자 욕구 형태를 분석하였다. 그러므로 본 연구는 주거환경의 변화에서 어울리는 디자인적인 요소와, 다른 공간에서의 변화에 소비자가 원하는 대로 내부공간 활용이 가능한 효율적인 형태 구조를 제시하기 위한 기초 자료로 제공하고자 하였다.

This study aimed at acknowledging characteristics of space usage and suggesting orientation of space planning and furniture designing that meet various residents' demands correlating with residential area, furniture and family members by doing fact finding of volume of the furniture in medium/small sized apartment. The contents of the study are "experience of functional remodeling," "a number of bedrooms correlating with a number of family" and "furniture arrangement of each space and characteristics of space utilization" based on forty six cases. Followings are results of the study. 1) It was acknowledged that the function of space relating to family members largely depends on furniture arrangement correlating with age of children. It is needed that flexible planning of residential area to meets growing children and various family demands. 2) Functional remodeling requires furniture rearrangement attended with the remodeling. Thus, it is required that ideas in more simple and efficient furniture designing and consideration of construction environment embracing that ideas. 3) It can be acknowledged that the most demanding matter to enjoy satisfied and comfortable life in residential area is the matter of storage area. It is also understandable that the matter can be worse by time going by and the change of living pattern. Therefore, it is required that the consideration of enough storage area compatible with its function of the room and the planning of built-in furniture for storage.

The purpose of this study is to develop furniture design for the apartment based on the market research of furniture and interior design, and the survey on the design preference of hte apartment residents. The apartment furniture in living rooms, bed rooms and kitchens are designed according to the design concepts of preference image of apartment sizes: that of mid-size apartment(34pyung type) is Natural Modern image, large-size(59pyung type) is Korean Modern image, and extra large-size(81pyung type) is Classic Modern image. The living furniture is designed smaller in order to use the space flexibly, and the built-in furniture of bed rooms is designed simply like the wall of a room to be felt larger, basically. The furniture in kitchen is composed of the storage zone by high cabinets and the display zone by open shelves.

The purpose of this research is to provide the informations on built - in closets and storage in urban apartment houses in korea, considering the mode in living. Since the number of household goods and furniture might be related with the unit size of house(L D K) and district (Seoul. Pusan, Incheon) all data also were evaluated by the struclure of dwelling space and urban area in korea. For being importance of "Anbang" for indoor living, in which Znagnnng, Mungap, a dressing table and hanger are prepared. Preparation of new space in various ways. so many living tools are being used, for example the dinner table with adjustable supporters. A room is specially prepared for storage of season's living goods and furniture. It is very interest that the bed is still net popular, because that is considered as obstruction for the function of "Anbang", specially in small size apartment. Built - in closets and storage In "Anbang" is greatly needed, because most of activities of living involving sleeping are done In that space.

본 연구는 다변화 되는 건설환경에서 모듈러 주택에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있어 모듈러 목업 주택을 대상으로 신축시 실내공기질 현황을 측정하였다. 붙박이 가구가 미설치된 세대(101호)와 붙박이 가구가 설치된 세대(102호), 2세대를 대상으로 시간경과에 따라 3차 측정을 실시하였다. 1차는 마감 및 붙박이 가구 설치 직후 측정하였으며 2차는 베이크아웃 실시 이후, 3차는 약 2.5개월(77일) 이후 측정하였다. 측정결과 1차 측정시 붙박이 가구 설치세대가 오염물질 방출농도가 높았으나 톨루엔의 경우를 제외하고 모두 권고기준 이하로 나타났다. 3차 측정시에는 톨루엔과 스티렌을 제외하고 두세대가 유사한 방출량으로 나타났으며 두세대 모두 미미한 수준으로 방출량이 낮아졌다. 이는 측정세대 모듈이 적어($14.7m^2$) 베이크아웃 및 환기에 의한 영향이 크게 나타난 것으로 판단되며 이를 통해 오염물질이 외부로 방출되어 저감된 것으로 판단된다. 일반 공동주택의 입주시점을 고려한다면 모듈러 주택의 경우도 모두 실내공기질 권고기준 이하로 나타날 것으로 판단되며, 가구에 의한 영향은 톨루엔이 가장 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 향후에는 모듈조합을 통해 중형 이상 규모 모듈러 주택에 있어서 가구설치 여부에 따른 상관관계를 살펴 볼 필요성이 있을 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the design principles of organic integration on furniture design by Frank Lloyd Wright. He consistently pursued organic principles in interior design, furniture and equipments. He insisted that every elements of a building can be integrated into architecture as if architecture can be a part of the nature. The study surveyed and analyzed the examples of furniture design in Wright houses from the viewpoints of spacial and formal integration as well as organic evolution. The study finds the characteristics of organic integration on furniture design as follows. He designed built-in furniture as an important part of the house, which seemed to grow up from the architecture design and a part of a building. He also designed and arranged free-standing furniture as spacial device in open floor plan. Moreover, furniture design repeated same geometry, modules, and proportion system of house design in order to integrate Into the building. In addition, material and color of furniture follow those of architecture. Wright's furniture design had changed from heavy forms in his early prairie houses to light and practical shapes in his Usonian period.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the furniture use pattern and needs for built-in furniture of apartment residents. The subjects were 289 housewives who live in apartment houses in Haeundae, Busan. The size of apartments was 60 $m^2$ or 85 $m^2$.The self-administered questionnaire was used. There was no any furniture pattern which can be categorized as the specific one. That is, each family has different kinds of furniture pattern in living room and master bedroom. Also, some subjects wanted to have builted-in furniture in master bedroom.
