내장 자가 검사 회로의 설계 (Design of Built-In Self Test Circuit)

  • In this paper, we designed a Circular Path Built-In Self Test circuit and embedded it into a simple 8-bit microprocessor. Register cells of the microprocessor have been modified into Circular Path register cells and each register cells have been connected to form a scan chain. A BIST controller has been designed for controlling BIST operations and its operation has been verified through simulation. The BIST circuit described in this paper has increased size overhead of the microprocessor by 29.8% and delay time in the longest delay path from clock input to output by 2.9㎱.

Wind flow simulations in idealized and real built environments with models of various level of complexity

  • The suitability of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations on the built environment for the purpose of estimating average roughness characteristics and for studying wind flow patterns within the environment is assessed. Urban models of various levels of complexity are considered including an empty domain, array of obstacles arranged in regular and staggered manners, in-homogeneous roughness with multiple patches, a semi-idealized built environment, and finally a real built environment. For each of the test cases, we conducted CFD simulations using RANS turbulence closure and validated the results against appropriate methods: existing empirical formulas for the homogeneous roughness case, empirical wind speed models for the in-homogeneous roughness case, and wind tunnel tests for the semi-idealized built environment case. In general, results obtained from the CFD simulations show good agreement with the corresponding validation methods, thereby, giving further evidence to the suitability of CFD simulations for built environment studies consisting of wide-ranging roughness. This work also provides a comprehensive overview of roughness modeling in CFD-from the simplest approach of modeling roughness implicitly through wall functions to the most elaborate approach of modeling roughness explicitly for the sake of accurate wind flow simulations within the built environment.

Physical model test of Jintan underground gas storage cavern group

  • In the present study, a physical model was built for the Jintan underground gas storage cavern group according to the similarity theory. In this regard, four ellipsoid caverns were built with scaled in-situ stresses and internal pressure. Then the stability of underground caverns was analyzed. The obtained results demonstrate that loss of internal pressure adversely affects the safety of caverns and attention should be paid during the operation of gas storage.

  • Current test has recently been known to be a promising testing method in CMOS VLSI because conventional voltage test can not make sure of the complete detection of bridging, gate-oxide shorts, stuck-open faults and etc. This paper presents a new BIC(built-in current sensor) for the internal current test in CMOS logic circuit. A single phase clock is used in the BIC to reduce the control circuitry of it and to perform a self- testing for a faulty current. The BIC is designed to detect the faulty current at the end of the clock period, so that it can test the CUT(circuit under test) with much longer critical propagation delay time and larger area than conventional BICs. The circuit is composed of 18 devices and verified by using the SPICE simulator.

Experimental and numerical investigations on axial strength of back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel angle columns

  • In cold-formed steel (CFS) structures, such as trusses, wall frames and columns, the use of back-to-back built-up CFS angle sections are becoming increasingly popular. In such an arrangement, intermediate fasteners are required at discrete points along the length, preventing the angle-sections from buckling independently. Limited research is available in the literature on the axial strength of back-to-back built-up CFS angle sections. The issue is addressed herein. This paper presents the results of 16 experimental tests, conducted on back-to-back built-up CFS screw fastened angle sections under axial compression. A nonlinear finite element model is then described, which includes material non-linearity, geometric imperfections and explicit modelling of the intermediate fasteners. The finite element model was validated against the experimental test results. The validated finite element model was then used for the purpose of a parametric study comprising 66 models. The effect of fastener spacing on axial strength was investigated. Four different cross-sections and two different thicknesses were analyzed in the parametric study, varying the slenderness ratio of the built-up columns from 20 to 120. Axial strengths obtained from the experimental tests and finite element analysis were used to assess the performance of the current design guidelines as per the Direct Strength Method (DSM); obtained comparison showed that the DSM is over-conservative by 13% on average. This paper has therefore proposed improved design rules for the DSM and verified their accuracy against the finite element and test results of back-to-back built-up CFS angle sections under axial compression.

캐패시턴스형 센서가 내장된 자기베어링 시스템의 작동성능에 관한 연구 (Performance of Built-in Capacitance Type Transducer of a Magnetic Bearing System)

  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated the magnetic bearings and built-in type cylindrical capacitive transducers for improving the vibration characteristics of rotating shaft. The eddy current and magnetic field from the electromagnet of the bearing don't affect the measuring signal of the capacitive type transducers so that it is possible to locate the capacitive sensor plates around the magnetic bearing poles and can improve the spillover problem which is induced by the noncollocation of the sensors and actuators. According to the sensitivity calibration schemes using a X-Y table, the cylindrical capacitive transducers have a good linearities in the .+-.70.mu.m range from the geometric center of the sensor plates. The measured results also show high displacement sensitivities of the sensors. According to the performance test of the magnetic bearing which is controlled by the analog PD controllers, we found that the built-in capacitive transducer system successfully measures the journal displacement in the magnetic field and therefore the magnetic bearing system supports the rotating shaft up to 12,000 rpm.

A Flexible Programmable Memory BIST for Embedded Single-Port Memory and Dual-Port Memory

  • Programmable memory built-in self-test (PMBIST) is an attractive approach for testing embedded memory. However, the main difficulties of the previous works are the large area overhead and low flexibility. To overcome these problems, a new flexible PMBIST (FPMBIST) architecture that can test both single-port memory and dual-port memory using various test algorithms is proposed. In the FPMBIST, a new instruction set is developed to minimize the FPMBIST area overhead and to maximize the flexibility. In addition, FPMBIST includes a diagnostic scheme that can improve the yield by supporting three types of diagnostic methods for repair and diagnosis. The experiment results show that the proposed FPMBIST has small area overhead despite the fact that it supports various test algorithms, thus having high flexibility.

High Repair Efficiency BIRA Algorithm with a Line Fault Scheme

  • With the rapid increase occurring in both the capacity and density of memory products, test and repair issues have become highly challenging. Memory repair is an effective and essential methodology for improving memory yield. An SoC utilizes built-in redundancy analysis (BIRA) with built-in self-test for improving memory yield and reliability. This letter proposes a new heuristic algorithm and new hardware architecture for the BIRA scheme. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm shows near-optimal repair efficiency in combination with low area and time overheads.

Built-up H형강의 소재특성 및 용접성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Material Properties and Welding Performance of Built-up H-beam)

  • 단면을 자유롭게 제작할 수 있는 Built-up H형강(BH)의 사용이 점점 증대하고 있다. 본 연구는 BH의 규격화를 위한 기초연구로 SM490, SM520 강재의 항복강도, 인장강도, 연신율, 샤르피 흡수에너지 등의 소재특성을 확인하였다. 또한 single-SAW 및 tandem-SAW를 활용하여 6개의 BH 공시체를 제작하였으며, 공시체에서 매크로시험편, T바 인장실험체를 채취하여 용접성능을 확인하였다. 소재특성시험 결과 국내산 SM490, SM520 강재의 특성은 모두 KS를 만족하였으며, 용접성능실험 결과 BH의 용접부는 충분한 용접성능을 갖추었다고 판단할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 사용된 국내산 SM490, SM520 강재는 BH의 소재로 적합한 것으로 판단되며, single-SAW, tandem-SAW는 충분한 용접성능을 발휘하는 것으로 사료된다.

공작기계용 고속 내장형 스핀들 모터의 열 해석 (Heat Analysis of Built-In Spindle Motor for High-Speed Machine Tools)

  • The built-in spindle motor for high-speed machine tools is designed and developed by Corporate R&D Institute of DAEWOO Heavy Industries LTD. The heat analysis program for the built-in spindle motor is developed by using lumped method. For the purpose of verification of the program comparison analyses between experiments and calculations are performed on the three motors ; DHI prototype of built-in spindle motor built-in spindle motor sample A and sample B As results calculated temperature distributions are in good agreement with the test results within the average error of 10% Calculated results of all the built-in spindle motors show that maximum temperature rise at high speed remains in the operating condition without exceeding the permitted limit but they exceeded the permitted limit of temperature rise at low speed.
