AN INTERACTIVE BUILDING MODELING SYSTEM BASED ON THE LEGO CONCEPT

  • In this paper, we proposed an interactive GUI (Graphical User Interface) system to model buildings with an editable script. Our system also provides probabilistic finite-state machine (PFSM) to define the relationships of sub-models with transformation matrices and transition probabilities for constructing new novel building models automatically. User can not only get various building models by PFSM but also adjust the probabilities of sub-models from PFSM to get desired building models. As shown in the results, the various and vivid building models can be constructed easily and quickly for non-expert users. Besides, user can also edit the script file which is provided by our system to modify the properties directly.

대학도서관 시설기준에 관한 연구 (A study on standards for college and university library building areas)

  • This study is to set up a model of minimum and optimum standards for college and university library building areas in Korea. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. minimum standards(proposal) At first, Areas needed by factors of space component are as follows: User space --- 0.45 $m^{2}$ per student. Collection space --- 0.0107 $m^{2}$ per volume Staff space --- 10.1 $m^{2}$ per person Space attached to user, collection and staff space --- 5% of the sum of user, collection and staff areas(0.041 $m^{2}$ per student). Nonassignable space --- 25% of the sum of user, collection and staff areas (0.21 $m^{2}$ per student). Next, the formula to calculate the total area of the college and university library building is as follows: N = 0.45T $m^{2}$(a) + 0.0107V $m^{2}$(b) + 10.1S $m^{2}$(c) + 0.05(a+b+c) $m^{2}$, NS = 0.25N $m^{2}$. 2. Nonassignable space --- 25% of the sum of user, collection and staff areas(0.38 $m^{2}$ per student). Next, the formula to calculate the total area of the college and university library building is as follows: N = 0.64T $m^{2}$(a) + 0.01V $m^{2}$(b) + 9.7S $m^{2}$(c) + 0.05(a+b+c) $m^{2}$, NS = 0.25N $m^{2}$.

  • Lately Construction industry tends to prefer remodeling of existing building rather then new construction or reconstruction of buildings due to strengthening of several restriction related to real estates along with prolonged depression. Specially in case of Apartment houses, since vagueness on ownership and management authority on common part exists. So in this study we are to present the procedure of analyzing apartment house remodeling method through user request by approaching to several considerable factors in user request side.

  • Building materials are used in combination and new materials are appearing every moment. Although the performance of building materials influence on whole building performance critically, there is no obvious classification. In this study, the term 'user requirement, functional requirement' is define. This research provides leveling performance of requirement and functional requirement.

  • There are some studies about user's participation to reflect their desire and value on the planning of house by this time. These were constitution of unit space focused on the apartments, which is mostly theoretical. However, till completion of a construction work, it goes through various processes of some steps such as, buying building site, site planning, architectural planning and construction. In architectural planning process, it takes time for continuous discussion and revision between architects and users. Also changes of plan must of necessity be so because of in or outside conditions. So, right user's participation has its meaning that they take part in each step and portion of process faithfully on whole architectural processes. In this case, tenants of single house were decided and they already buy building site and lay out rules jointly. With this circumstance I've researched a kind of test the reflection on various desires and its acceptance in each steps through completion of a construction work, which is based on their participation.

  • This paper presents a graphic user interface system consisting of graphic simulator and remote control system for a building cleaning robot. It provides a tool of convenient 3D graphical map construction for real world. The 3D map is reconstructed from existing 2D building CAD data with DXF format by using OpenGL graphic API. Through this system, graphic display of robot's status information, remote control and cleaning scheduling can be done for a building cleaning robot. This proposed system is expected to give efficient way of graphic simulation and remote monitoring and control system for a building cleaning robot.

이용자 행태 기반 복합건축 보행자 통합동선계획 (The Pedestrian Integrated Circulation System in Mixed-use Building based on User Behavior)

  • The purpose of the study is to be the pedestrian integrated circulation system of malling route and the third route in Mixed-use Building based on User Behavior. The study has performed by the following approaches: Initially, literature reviews are performed related to a pedestrian route by user in mixed-use building. Second, general and stroller users moving route are analyzed based on the outcome of the case study. Finally, the study develops the efficient pedestrian integrated circulation system of malling route and the third route in Mixed-use Building. According to the study, the following conclusions were made: First, An integrated plan for escalators and EVs, which are accessible to both users and strollers, is needed. Second, The entrance automatic door and circulation elements should be connected for continuous move by the stroller users. Finally, The circulation system of complex buildings should be a simple spatial structure and route plan that users can easily recognize.

비교정 영상에서의 반자동 3차원 건물 모델링 (Semi-automatic 3D Building Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 실외에서 촬영된 비교정 영상으로부터 3차원 건물 구조를 복원하는 반자동화 방법론을 제안한다. 사용자는 관심있는 건물을 임의의 위치에서 촬영한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 먼저, 입력영상에 대하여 SIFT 알고리즘을 이용하여 특징점과 대응점을 추출한다. 두 번째로, 각 영상에 존재하는 선과 소실점을 추정하고, 추정된 소실점으로 추출한 선들을 그룹화 한다. 다음으로, 각 영상 간의 관계를 대응점의 개수로 정의한 인접 그래프를 이용하여 입력 영상에 대한 순서를 정의하여, 각 영상을 촬영한 카메라의 위치 정보를 보정한다. 최종적으로 추정한 카메라의 정보와 각 영상에서 그룹화된 선을 이용하여 건물의 대략적인 3차원 구조를 복원한다. 하프 에지(half-edge) 자료 구조와 오일러 연산자(Euler operator)를 이용한 상세 모델링을 수행함으로써 완성된 건물 구조를 복원할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 자동으로 추출된 기하학적 정보를 이용하여 최소한의 사용자 입력으로 건물을 복원 할 수 있도록 하였다.

3D 지도와 결합된 실시간 증강현실 건물 안내 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Real-time Augmented Reality Building Information System Combined with 3D Map)

  • 최근 스마트폰을 이용한 증강현실 기반 건물 안내 어플리케이션들은 사용자의 위치와 목표 건물의 위치 간의 거리에 상관없이 동일한 고정 형태로 정보를 보여주고 있고, 특히 다수의 목표 건물들이 근접하여 위치하고 있을 때 제공 정보들이 중첩하여 디스플레이 됨에 따라 정보 전달력이 떨어지는 제한점이 있다. 또한, 기존 증강현실 기반 어플리케이션에서 사용자의 현재 위치를 직관적으로 파악하는 데는 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 제한점을 해결하고자 사용자와 건물의 위치에 따라 정보객체의 위치와 크기가 적응적으로 제공되고, 사용자의 위치가 실시간으로 표 시되는 3D 지도를 제 공함으로써 사용자들이 직관적으로 자신의 위치와 건물의 위치를 파악할 수 있도록 하는 안내 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 증강현실 기반 건물 안내 시스템은 서울시 중구에 위치한 덕수궁내의 건물 안내에 초점을 맞추어 제작되었다.

Comparative Navigation system for Experiencing 3D Digital Archives of Cultural Heritage

  • We have developed a method that enables a user to better understand and enjoy the contents of 3D digital archives, thereby enhancing the user's experience. The system's interactive interface, built using virtual reality technology, enables the user to "walk through" the archives, comparing two or the same content at different points in time. For example, a user can compare the proposed design for a building with the actual building and can compare the states of restoration of a cultural heritage site over time. This ability to perform multilateral comparisons enables the user to clarify the relationship between contents, the influence of one content on another, and the causal relationship between contents. Testing of a prototype system for a 3D digital archive of cultural heritage sites showed that it worked smoothly and that the users could easily operate the navigation system.
