In order to build a news archive system. the news video stream should be first segmented into several articles, ad their contents are abstracted effectively. This abstraction helps the users to understand the contents of the article without playing the whole video stream. This paper proposes a new article boundary detection scheme for the news video streams together with a new news article abstraction scheme using the shot types of the news video data. The shots in the news video are classified into anchor person shots, interview shots, speech shots, reporting shots, graphic shots, and others. Since the news article starts with an anchor shot whose duration is relatively longer than other shots with special screen structure, the article boundary in detected by the computing the length of the shot and checking the screen structure in the proposed scheme. For the effective abstraction of the article video, the graphic image located in the right-top of the anchor shot frames is primarily used in the proposed abstraction scheme since it is the abstraction of the article made by the producer of the news according to its contents so that it contains a lot of meaningful information. The key frames of the other shots except interview and report shots are also used to abstract the contents of the articles in the proposed scheme. Upon experimental results, the precision and recall values of the proposed article boundary detection scheme could be 92% and 96%, respectively. This paper also presents a design and implementation of a prototype news archive system on WWW that consists of an indexing tool, an authoring tool, a database for meta-data of the news, and a browsing tool.

This study reports a field study that examined the citizens' needs and perceptions of library services at a municipal public library system of Mapo-gu, in an attempt to develop a comprehensive service plan that can satisfy the diverse public needs in the changing social environment. We administered a self-reported questionnaire to 800 library users and 300 non-users in the area to examine their reading habits, library use, and perceptions of library services and programs. As a result of the analysis, 53.7% of Mapo-gu residents used one or two libraries among all 16 municipal libraries, and the primary criterion for selecting the main library was accessibility(63.9%). And only 53.8% of library users had experience participating in the library programs. The respondents also showed strong perception that the library is an essential place for the community and the children. Study results indicate that the library system should further expand the collection size, diversify information contents, improve the physical space including library facilities, and build more libraries. In order to fulfill the role of public libraries as the central place of the community, the municipal city should further invest in enhancing accessibility, spatial innovation, and diversifying service contents and media.
While the broadband network and multimedia technology are being developed, the commercial market on digital contents as well as IPTV has been widely spreading. Especially IPTV is providing various useful services since it makes using multimedia contents easier and more convenient by combining the strong points of both TV and PC system. Until now, IPTV system has been focused on VoD service as a general usages. However, various IPTV services are recently demanded since they can have special features for some specific places and occasions. So in this paper, we propose a design of the download based IPTV system using user-specific channel management. At first, program contents previously scheduled by users are downloaded and are played at settop-box according to the prescribed time table. This system has some advantages of giving users easy access to any wanted media contents in anytime that is IPTV's characteristics. And we can increase stability of services by using time slot distributed download for contents. Because this service can be constructed and maintained at relatively low cost, we confirm that this service model is more suitable to some companies with small infrastructure and special purposes. Accordingly, in this paper, we look into necessary elements and define some protocols for system in order to help other developer build this system.

A muti-lamellar emulsion containing a pseudoceramide, N-Ethanol-2-myristyl/ palmityl-3-oxostearmide/arachidamide(PC-9) has been prepared and its efficacy evaluation has been investigated. In order to prepare a muti-lamellar emulsion, first, the gram ratios of PC-9, fatty acid and cholesterol on the phase diagram to be capable of forming their lamellar liquid crystal structures were determined and secondly, the multi-lamellar emulsion was preprared using glyceryl monostearate and polyoxyethylene glyceryl monosteartate as emulsifers together with above mentioned pseudo-stratum corneum lipid components. Besides natural oils such as olive oil had a tendency to build up the multi-lamellar emulsion. And according as the amount of oil increased in the emulsion, it was observed that the optical anisotropy of “Maltese Cross” which was a typical configuration of multi-lamella mesophase texture diminished. In the dried state of the multi-lamella emulsion, it was examined to transform its emulsion phase into a lamella liquid crystal one. And finally, when the emulsion was applied into a human skin, it was investigated that it had effectiveness in reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) of the skin.
A user usually gets the same suggesting results as everyone else in most of the multimedia social services, nowadays. To address the challenging problem of personalization in the social network, we propose a method which exploits user's activities, user's moods, and user's friend relationships from the social network to build a decision-making system. Depending on a current state of the user's mood, this system infers the most appropriated video for the user. In the system, the user evaluates a set of the given recommendation methods which extract from the user's database social network and assigns a vague value to each method by a weight. Then, we find the fuzzy collection solution for the system and classify the set of methods into subsets, and order the subsets based on its local dominance to choose the best appropriate method. Finally, we conduct an experiment using the YouTube API with a lot of video types. The experiment result shows that the channel recommendation system appropriately affords the user's character, it is more satisfying than the current YouTube based on an evaluation of several users.

The recent emergence of the paradigm of new urban planning for building intelligent urban spaces, such as U-City and U-Eco City, of which the concept of ubiquitous technology is applied, requires high quality three-dimensional spatial information of the urban area. The aim of this study is to build a multi-dimensional spatio-visual information system that includes the solution for visualization, spatial information search, analysis, and evaluation by integrating various types of 3D-modeled spatial information concerning the large urban-size area based on the latest GIS application technology. The range of this study is the integration, visualization, and utilization of spatial information with the goal of building 3D virtual urban environment of high-quality and high-resolution by increasing the utilization of the systematic urban facilities in order to fully reflect the actual user's needs, using the aerial LiDAR data as the plan to overcome the limitations of the existing 3D urban modeling. By reproducing the virtual urban environment the most similar to the actual world through the mash-up of satellite images and aerial photos on the standard format of spatial information constituted of properties and signs, the system will be built with many analysis and utilization functions that support the view and sunlight analysis, various administrative tasks, as well as the decision making process of the city.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of instruction for the development of analytical rubrics based on teacher-student compromise, which would be applied to performance assessment about the ninth-grade housing unit of the 7th national curriculum. In order to find out the influence of the rubric development instruction on learning motivation, two different third-year classes in a middle school were selected respectively as an experimental group and a control group. The way of presenting the rubrics and learning motivation were respectively selected as independent and dependent variables. Both groups took two lessons and a pretest-posttest on learning motivation. As for the analytic rubric for the individual task performance in the housing unit, three evaluation items were selected. As a result, the instruction for the learner-involved development of analytical rubrics for the housing segment had a positive effect on the confidence and satisfaction of the middle schoolers, which were two out of four sub-factors of learning motivation. Open-ended questions showed that the instruction got to build confidence in the course of being aware of the evaluation criteria and fulfilling the given tasks.

Objectives: Radon may be second only to smoking as a cause of lung cancer. Radon is a colorless, tasteless radioactive gas that is formed via the radioactive decay of radium. Therefore, radon levels can build up based on the amount of radium contained in construction materials such as phospho-gypsum board or when ventilation rates are low. This study provides our findings from evaluation of radon gas at facilities and offices in an industrial complex. Methods: We evaluated the office rooms and processes of 12 manufacturing factories from May 14, 2014 to September 23, 2014. Short-term data were measured by using real-time monitoring detectors(Model 1030, Sun Nuclear Co., USA) indoors in the office buildings. The radon measurements were recorded at 30-minute intervals over approximately 48 hours. The limit of detection of this instrument is $3.7Bq/m^3$. Also, long-term data were measured by using ${\alpha}-track$ radon detectors(${\alpha}-track$, Rn-tech Co., Korea) in the office and factory buildings. Our detectors were exposed for over 90 days, resulting in a minimum detectable concentration of $7.4Bq/m^3$. Detectors were placed 150-220 cm above the floor. Results: Radon concentrations averaged $20.6{\pm}17.0Bq/m^3$($3.7-115.8Bq/m^3$) in the overall area. The monthly mean concentration of radon by building materials were in the order of gypsum>concrete>cement. Radon concentrations were measured using ${\alpha}-track$ in parallel with direct-reading radon detectors and the two metric methods for radon monitoring were compared. A t-test for the two sampling methods showed that there is no difference between the average radon concentrations(p<0.05). Most of the office buildings did not have central air-conditioning, but several rooms had window- or ceiling-mounted units. Employees could also open windows. The first, second and third floors were used mainly for office work. Conclusions: Radon levels measured during this assessment in the office rooms of buildings and processes in factories were well below the ICRP reference level of $1,000Bq/m^3$ for workplaces and also below the lower USEPA residential guideline of $148Bq/m^3$. The range of indoor annual effective dose due to radon exposure for workers working in the office and factory buildings was 0.01 to 1.45 mSv/yr. Construction materials such as phospho-gypsum board, concrete and cement were the main emission sources for workers' exposure.
Purpose - As the growth potential of the cultural contents industry steadily grows, the cinemas industry is growing fast especially due to popularity and commerciality. The recent in the cinemas industry is evolving on multiplex cinemas that combine cultural facilities such as theaters, restaurants, and shopping centers. Due to the rapid growth of multiplex cinemas, many researchers have studied the characteristics of visiting customers in Korea. Among them, selection attribute of multiplex cinemas, including the service quality and physical environment, is important because it may examines the cause of customer 's behavior. Thus, this research focuses on the effects of the selection attributes of the multiplex cinemas on customer satisfaction and their loyalty. This research suggests the guidelines for how cinemas should manage their customers and build their customers satisfaction and loyalty that improve business performance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study tests the structural relationship between selection attributes of multiplex cinemas, customer satisfaction, and loyalty. selection attributes of multiplex cinemas divide into five sub-dimensions such as movies facility quality, services, cleanliness, accessibility, and snack bars quality. In order to examine the purposes of this research, research model and hypotheses were developed. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. The data were collected from 100 students in their 10-20s and were analyzed using SPSS 22.0, SmartPLS 3.0 and fsQCA program. Result - The findings of this research are as follows. First, all selection attributes except cleanliness have significant positive impacts on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Second, customer satisfaction has significant positive impact on loyalty. Third, as a result of fsQCA, high satisfaction and high accessibility were the necessary conditions on loyalty. Fourth, the necessary conditions for male and female groups were different. Conclusions - The implications of this study are as follows. Overall, multiplex cinemas should manage selection attributes basically regardless of the type of theater. Especially, cleanliness was not significant, but the customer probably consider it an essential and basic factors. Also, they are able to manage the selection attributes differently depending on the type of gender. For the male customers, it is effective that centralized strategy and for female customers, it is effective that emphasized the multiplex cinemas image.
The academic circle of the Qing Dynasty has seen a new trend, mostly based on Han-Hak through the event of the publication of "Sagojeyo" and sought a new change in the sector of Spring Autumn-Hak as well. This study is focused on understanding and evaluation of the developmental process of especially the traditional Spring Autumn-Hak view, among some views of "Sagojeyo" by the book. "Sagojeyo" does a critical analysis of Gongyang-Hak and Gokryang-Hak and the interpretation of "Spring Autumn" made by Song-Hak scholars, and which seems a kind of preparatory step to build up a new research methodology for Spring Autumn-Hak. "Sagojeyo" emphasizes the importance of "Jwacijeon" and also points out its weaknesses and strongly demands the acceptance of strengths "Gongyangjeon" and "Gokryangjeon" have in order to compensate such demerits. Even further, it tries to evaluate Spring Autumn-Hak of the Song Dynasty objectively and reasonably as possible with no prejudice. Such analysis attitude made it possible for Spring Autumn-Hak to get a new turning point starting from the publication of "Sagojeyo". The new research methodology that comprehensively judges historical research and fidelity discourse could be one of important achievements discovered in the Han-Hak-centered academic circle in the early Qing Dynasty.
