A Research on Low-power Buffer Management Algorithm based on Deep Q-Learning approach for IoT Networks (IoT 네트워크에서의 심층 강화학습 기반 저전력 버퍼 관리 기법에 관한 연구)

  • As the number of IoT devices increases, power management of the cluster head, which acts as a gateway between the cluster and sink nodes in the IoT network, becomes crucial. Particularly when the cluster head is a mobile wireless terminal, the power consumption of the IoT network must be minimized over its lifetime. In addition, the delay of information transmission in the IoT network is one of the primary metrics for rapid information collecting in the IoT network. In this paper, we propose a low-power buffer management algorithm that takes into account the information transmission delay in an IoT network. By forwarding or skipping received packets utilizing deep Q learning employed in deep reinforcement learning methods, the suggested method is able to reduce power consumption while decreasing transmission delay level. The proposed approach is demonstrated to reduce power consumption and to improve delay relative to the existing buffer management technique used as a comparison in slotted ALOHA protocol.

  • This paper presents multiplexing structures to provide various subscriber interfaces in an ATM switching system with a high speed internal link, and analyzes the schemes in terms of a mean cell delay and a buffer sin. And we proposed a buffer management strategy to minimize a cell loss and accommodate new ATM transfer capabilities.

  • This paper proposes queueing models for a Web server system which is composed of an infinite-buffer main server and finite-buffer auxiliary server(s). The system is modeled by the level-dependent quasi-birth- death (QBD) process. Utilizing the special structure of the QBD, we convert the infinite level-dependent QBD into a finite level-independent QBD and compute the state probabilities. We then explore the operational characteristics of the proposed web-server models and draw some useful conclusions.

  • 현재 MRP와 JIT 시스템과 같은 전통적 생산시스템의 대안 중에 가장 활발하게 연구되고 있는 분야가 DBR(Drum-Buffer-Rope)이다. 재고의 양을 줄일 수 있으며, 스케쥴링의 속도를 획기적으로 증가시킬 수 있는 DBR 버퍼의 장점을 이용하여 SCM의 납기확약 Simulator 엔진으로서 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 DBR 스케쥴링을 이용하여 납기확약 시스템을 개발하고 납기확약에 따른 단가모형을 연구하였다.

  • In this paper we develop an exponentialization procedure for the modelling of open FMS networks with general processing time at each station and limited buffer size. By imposing a reasonable assumption on the solution set, the nonlinear equation system for the exponentialization procedure is formulated as a variational inequality problem and the solution existence is examined. The efficient algorithm for the nonlinear equation system is developed using linearized Jacobi approximation method.

  • Goldratt의 제약이론의 출발점으로 알려져 있는 TOC DBR은, 창안된 이래 꾸준한 연구와 실제 적응을 통해 거의 모든 형태의 제조업체 현장관리에 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 국내에서는, DBR의 본격적인 적응 사례가 아직 미미한 가운데 있지만, 현재까지 동아시아국가들을 제외한 전세계 산업국가에서 활발한 적용을 보이고 있으며 수많은 적응사례가 발표되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 TOC DBR을 성공적으로 적용한 외국 기업들의 사례를 살펴보므로써, 해당 제조업체의 적용 전 상황과적용 후의 경영개선 내용과 수준을 파악해 보며, 국내 제조업체 적응에 대한 가능성을 가늠해 보고자 한다.

  • ATM 트래픽 관리의 목적은 호 설정시 요구하는 QoS를 충족시키는 것과 최소한의 망 자원을 이용하면서 망을 보호하는 것이다. 또한, 서로 다른 채널간 QoS을 공정하게 보장하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 채널들간에 공정한 QoS 제공과 링크 이용률을 높이기 위하여 입력버퍼에 문턱값을 기반으로 출력 셀율을 동적으로 조정하는 새로운 TBBM(threshold based buffer management)알고리즘을 제안하였으며 문턱값 변화에 따른 성능을 분석하였다.

  • Rate-based flow control plays an important role for efficient traffic management of Available Bit Rate(ABR) services. We deal with the problem of the buffer dimension for rate-based ABR control. In this paper, we analyze the Allowed Cell Rate(ACR) of a source and the queue size in a steady state. First, we investigate the effect of the number of active sources on the behavior of the ACR and the maximum queue size. Reflecting the effect of this real scenes, we determine the optimal buffer size and buffer threshold. Furthermore, our analytic results are compared with the case when the effect of the number of active sources is disregarded.

  • In this paper we design and implement a method for application programs to allow handling of large data files in DOS environment. In this method we use extended memory and hard disk as a data buffer. And we use a part of the conventional DOS memory as a buffer cache which allows the application program to use extended memory and hard disks transparently. Using buffer cache also allows us some speed improvement for the application program.

  • Due to the advance of WLAN technology, the use of the multimedia service such as the video streaming service has been increased in the home network. However, we need to study the method which decreases the transmission delay and the frame loss rate to provide QoS of the video streaming service. Therefore, this paper proposes an active buffer management mechanism to guarantee QoS of the streaming service in IEEE 802.11e EDCA. The proposed protocol discards the frame in the HoL of the buffer based on the importance of each frame and the virtual transmission delay of frame newly arriving at the buffer. In the simulation results, the proposed algorithm not only decreases the frame loss probability of important I and P frames but also stabilizes the transmission delay. It may increase the QoS of video streaming services.
