Residential network is the hybrid technology of wireless, Ethernet, Bluetooth and RF to the internet via broadband connection at home to facilitate the convenient, safe and pleasant daily lives of home user with various home network services regardless of device, time and place. For ubiquitous development more devices will be wireless and most of them will be roaming. Since these roaming devices carry private information of daily life of residential users, the interaction among the roaming devices of residential network must be secure. This paper presents to secure registration of roaming devices using IP Security (IPSec) Protocol Suite without the need to trust foreign agents.

A dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) scheme, an inter -optical network unit (ONU) bandwidth scheduling, is presented to provide quality of service (QoS) to different classes of packets in Ethernet passive optical networks (EPONs). This scheme, referred to as TADBA, is based on efficient threshold reporting from, and adaptive polling order rearranging of, ONUs. It has been shown that the network resources are efficiently allocated among the three traffic classes by guaranteeing the requested QoS, adaptively rearranging the polling orders, and avoiding nearly all fragmentation losses. Simulation results using an OPNET network simulator show that TADBA performs well in comparison to the available allocation scheme for the given parameters, such as packet delay and channel utilization.

BcN(Broadband Convergence Network)은 통신, 방송, 인터넷이 융합된 품질보장형 광대역 멀티미디어 서비스로 언제 어디서나 끊김 없이 안전하게 이용 할 수 있는 이용자 중심의 유비쿼터스 서비스 구현을 위한 핵심 인프라이다. BcN은 여러 가지 개별망이 통합된 망으로 그 특성상 보안 문제가 발생하면 전체 네트워크로 광범위하게 확산돼 심각한 피해를 입게 된다. 따라서 BcN에서는 전체 네트워크를 통합하는 보안 정책을 세워야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 협력적인 침입방어 시스템의 탐지의 정확도를 향상시키고 수집된 정보를 바탕으로 효과적으로 대응할 수 있는 메커니즘을 제안한다. 또한 BcN상에서의 정보 교환을 위한 분산-계층적 시스템 구조를 설계하였다.

The increase in data traffic calls for investment in mobile networks; however, the saturating revenue of mobile broadband and increasing capital expenditure are discouraging mobile operators from investing in next-generation mobile networks. Mobile network sharing is a viable solution for operators and regulators to resolve this dilemma. This research uses a difference-in-differences analysis of 33 operators (including 11 control operators) to empirically evaluate the cost reduction effect of mobile network sharing. The results indicate a reduction in overall operating expenditure and short-term capital expenditure by national roaming. This finding implies that future technology and standards development should focus on flexible network operation and maintenance, energy efficiency, and maximizing economies of scale in radio access networks. Furthermore, mobile network sharing will become more viable and relevant in a 5G network deployment as spectrum bands are likely to increase the total cost of ownership of mobile networks and technical enablers will facilitate network sharing.

In this paper, we deal with a network optimization problem arising from the deployment of Ethernet-based BcN access network. BcN convergence services require that access networks satisfy QoS measures. BcN services have two types of traffics: stream traffic and elastic traffic. Stream traffic uses blocking probability as a QoS measure, while elastic traffic uses delay factor as a QoS measure. Incorporating the QoS requirements, we formulate the problem as a nonlinear mixed-integer programming model. The proposed model seeks to find a minimum cost dimensioning solution, while satisfying the QoS requirement. We propose tabu search heuristic algorithms for solving the problem, and simulate tabu result. We demonstrate the computational efficacy of the proposed algorithm by solving a network design problem.

현재, 광대역 통합 통신망의 발달로 통신과 방송이 융합된 고품질의 멀티미디어 서비스가 가능해 지고 있다. 이러한 고품질의 통신 방송 융합 서비스는 IP 망에서 신뢰성 있는 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘이 요구되는데 현재의 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘은 end-to-end QoS 보장에 어려운 점이 있다. 이러한 신뢰성이 요구되는 고품질의 IP 멀티미디어 IPTV 서비스를 위해서는 먼저 신뢰성 있는 품질 보장성 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘이 제공되어야 하며 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 중앙 집중 멀티캐스팅 관리 블록의 제어를 받는 프루빙 패킷 기반 멀티캐스팅 수락 제어 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 그리고 ns-2 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 제안된 메커니즘에 대한 성능 분석을 제시하였다.

본 논문은 leaky bucket을 이용하여 초고속망의 폭주를 제어하는 Advanced Peer-to-Peer Network(APPN)의 성능을 분석하였다. 제안된 논문에서는 손실 및 오류패킷에 대하여 재전송하는 오류제어 방식을 병행하여 사용하였다. APPN 모델의 성능 분석을 통하여 사용자 차원의 오류제어와 망 차원의 폭주제어 방식간의 상호작용을 연구하여 윈도우 크기와 leaky bucket의 토큰 생성속도가 end-to-end delay에 영향을 미치는 중요한 파라미터들임을 알 수 있었다.

VoIP 서비스는 인터넷 기반기술을 사용하므로 인터넷망에서 발생하는 보안위협이 내재해 있고 실시간 서비스 특성으로 기존 보안솔루션의 수정이나 변경 없이 보호하기는 어려운 면이 있고,단일 망으로 음성 데이터 통합서비스를 제공하기 때문에 상대적으로 데이터 망만을 보호하기 위한 노력과 비용이 복잡해지고, IP망에서 발생 가능한 보안 위협이 내재되어 있고, 단일 망으로 음성 데이터 통합서비스를 제공하기 때문에 상대적으로 데이터 망만을 보호하기 위한 노력과 비용이 복잡해지고, IP망에서 발생 가능한 보안 위협이 내재되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 VoIP 스팸에 대한 정의와 VoIP 스팸 기술에 대한 분석 그리고 VoIP 스팸을 막을 수 있는 여러 가지 대응방법들에 대해서 설명을 하도록 한다.

In this paper, an algorithm that provides absolute and proportional differentiation of packet delays is proposed with the objective of enhancing quality of service in future packet networks. It features an adaptive scheme that adjusts the target delay for every time slot to compensate the deviation from the target delay, which is caused by prediction error on the traffic to arrive at the next time slot. It predicts the traffic to arrive at the beginning of a time slot and measures the actual arrived traffic at the end of the time slot. The difference between them is utilized by the delay control operation for the next time slot to offset it. Because the proposed algorithm compensates the prediction error continuously, it shows superior adaptability to bursty traffic and exponential traffic. Through simulations we demonstrate that the algorithm meets the quantitative delay bounds and is robust to traffic fluctuation in comparison with the conventional non-adaptive mechanism. The algorithm is implemented with VHDL on a Xilinx Spartan XC3S1500 FPGA, and the performance is verified under the test board based on the XPC860P CPU.

Networks, services and industries have been converging with the advent of digital convergence by technology advancements of digitalization, broadband and interactivity in the areas of information-communication and broadcasting technologies. Especially, this convergence of technology and market has been blurring the boundary of telecommunication and broadcasting sectors, and the severe competition seems to be inevitable due to the lack of the differentiation in broadcasting media and contents. In this study, we regard the competition phenomenon in the digital convergence between telecommunication and broadcasting as the platform competition in two-sided markets which have been actively studied since 2000, and analyzed it using modified Hotelling's location model. According to the analysis of platform competition on the effects of the differentiation of platform (t) , killer component $(\mu)$ and component compatibility $(\theta)$ , it is shown that two differentiated platforms are simultaneously used in case of the decrease of substitution effects, and the profit of platform with killer contents is increased, but the profit of platforms with higher compatibility is decreased. The policy implication is that it is especially necessary to modify the policy and regulation on media contents considering the growing competition in media. On the other hand, differentiated and reasonable policy is required to make fair competition and active market environment.
