In order to support reliable medium access control (MAC) layer multicast services in Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) networks, we here propose spreading codes (Cumulative ACK (CA) code and ARQ Feedback Request (AFR) code) based reliable multicast feedback scheme. The status indications based on the automatic repeat request (ARQ) mechanism are needed in some multicast services. In accordance with various wireless channel environments, we demonstrate the performance excellency of our proposed scheme with respect to required uplink resources compared with the original feedback scheme based on unicast ARQ feedback messages. In addition, we analyze packet error rate (PER) against the various wireless channel environments.

The frequencies for HAPS used in fixed wireless access are allocated in the millimeter wave bands. The systems using these frequencies can have a serious impact on the radio communication qualities due to rain. In this paper, we compare the specific rain attenuation using CM(combined) raindrop size distribution with those using different sevral raindrop size distributions for the frequency bands 28/48㎓. The rain attenuations using CM raindrop size distribution for the path between the earth and HAPS platform according to the elevation angle are described.

This paper presents the design and implementation of 16-QAM modem that can be applied to fixed broadband wireless access systenm. It is implemented in the hardware prototype that consist of FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) for digital signal processing and analog front end module for analog signal processing. We provide 20.48Mbps data rate using implemented modem and test the modem in KOREA 26㎓ broadband wireless local loop system including IFU(Intermediate Frequency Unit) and RFU(Radio Frequency Unit) via air interface.

본 논문에서는 국내 광대역 위성 액세스 망(BSAN: Broadband Satellite Access Network) 에 적용 가능한 보안 기능을 위한 가이드 라인을 살펴보고, RCST와 NCC간에 인증 및 키 관리 기능을 위하여 요구되는 주요 핵심 보안 메커니즘에 기술한다. 더불어 국내 광대역 위성 액세스망을 위한 가이드라인을 기술하고, ETSI 표준을 분석한다. 기종 표준안의 키 공유 프로토콜은 키의 신선도와 확신성을 제공하지 않는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 키의 신선도와 확신성을 갖으면서 계산적 복잡도와 교환되는 데이터 량을 감소시키기 위한 세 가지 키분배 프로토콜을 제안하고 제안된 프로토콜의 특성을 비교 분석한다. 특히 이러한 특성을 갖는 ECDH(Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman)키 공유 프로토콜을 제안한다.

At subway tunnel, A 18GHz's influence of the multi-pass padding is strong. OFDM digital modulation that is strong for multi-pass padding is recommended. Duplexing methode uses FDD to transmit and receive broadband data at the same time. In the case of FDD we assign a private use channel each with the transmission at the receiving. In this paper, We implement multiple access wireless OFDM transceiver. We verified that one ground transceiver communicates with two car transceiver at the same time.

This paper proposes a new scheduling algorithm for broadband ATM access network. The existed scheduling algorithms (Train, Chao. Dynamic scheduling algorithm) have high cell loss rate and waste channel. These proposed mechanism utilize to control of multimedia services based on the quality of service level of the input traffic This paper suggests a functional architecture of scheduling and the scheduling algorithm to satisfy various QoS requirements. The performance measures of interest, namely steady-state cell loss probability and average delay, average delay, are discussed by simulation results.

This paper deals with a heuristic algorithm for solving a broadband converged access networks (BCAN) design problem. The problem is to minimize the total cost of switches and cables while satisfying demand and QoS constraints. We propose a Tabu Search (TS) algorithm for finding a good feasible solution within a reasonable time limit.

As broadband wireless access systems are widely accepted, VoIP service over the wireless network is being requested. Because previous VoIP implementations are designed to provide service over wired network, they does not consider security problem sufficiently that is one of the most vulnerable aspects of wireless communication. Therefore, this paper describes how to implement secure VoIP service over wireless network with minimum overhead.

In this paper, we propose methods for designing the Virtual Private Network (VPN) which guarantees a strict Quality of Service (QoS) over A TM networks. The required Quality of Service is a very strict Cell Loss Probability, and it is guaranteed by pro riding equivalent bandwidth which is computed so that the provided bandwidth is sufficient to guarantee that requirement. We consider two network architectures for constructing VPM, the customer pipe scheme and the Hose scheme, and we propose a method to compute the amount of the required bandwidth for the two schemes. Finally, we investigate the implication of the scheme via numerical experiments.
