This paper proposes a 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thick oxide air-bridge structure which can be used as a substrate for RF circuits. The structure was fabricated by anodic reaction, complex oxidation and rnicrornachining technology using TMAH etching. High quality films were obtained by combining low temperature thermal oxidation (50$0^{\circ}C$, 1 hr at $H_2O$/O$_2$) and rapid thermal oxidation (RTO) process (105$0^{\circ}C$, 2 min). This structure is mechanically stable because of thick oxide layer up to 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and is expected to solve the problem of high dielectric loss of silicon substrate in RF region. The properties of the transmission line formed on the oxidized porous silicon (OPS) air-bridge were investigated and compared with those of the transmission line formed on the OPS layers. The insertion loss of coplanar waveguide (CPW) on OPS air-bridge was (about 1 dB) lower than that of CPW on OPS layers. Also, the return loss of CPW on OPS air-bridge was less than about - 20 dB at measured frequency region for 2.2 mm. Therefore, this technology is very promising for extending the use of CMOS circuitry to higher RF frequencies.

PURPOSES: The purpose of this study is to evaluate physical properties, durability, fatigue resistance, and long-term performance of poly-urethane concrete (PU) which can be possible application of thin layer on long-span orthotropic steel bridge and to check structural stability of bridge structure. METHODS : Various tests of physical properties, such as flexural strength, tensile strength, bond strength and coefficient of thermal expansion tests were conducted for physical property evaluation using two types of poly urethane concrete which have different curing time. Freezing and thawing test, accelerated weathering test and chloride ion penetration test were performed to evaluate the effect of exposed to marine environment. Beam fatigue test and small scale accelerated pavement test were performed to assess the resistance of PU against fatigue damage and long-term performance. Structural analysis were conducted to figure out structural stability of bridge structure and thin bridge deck pavement system. RESULTS: The property tests results showed that similar results were observed overall however the flexural strength of PUa was higher than those of PUb. It was also found that PU materials showed durability at marine environment. Beam fatigue test results showed that the resistances of the PUa against fatigue damage were two times higher than those of the PUb. It was found form small scale accelerated pavement test to evaluate long-term performance that there is no distress observed after 800,000 load applications. Structural analysis to figure out structural stability of bridge structure and thin bridge deck pavement system indicated that bridge structures were needed to increase thickness of steel deck plate or to improve longitudinal rib shape. CONCLUSIONS: It has been known that the use of PU can be positively considered to thin layer on long-span orthotropic steel bridge in terms of properties considered marine environment, resistance of fatigue damage and long-term performance.
In this paper a bridge flutter prediction is performed by using advanced numerical simulation. Two novel approaches were developed simultaneously by utilizing the ANSYS v12.1 commercial software package. The first one is a fluid-structure interaction simulation involving the three-dimensional elastic motion of a bridge deck and the fluid flow around it. The second one is an updated forced oscillation technique based on the dynamic mode shapes of the bridge. An aeroelastic wind tunnel model was constructed in order to validate the numerical results. Good agreement between the numerical results and the measurements proves the applicability of the novel methods in bridge flutter assessment.

Recently, high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge are frequently constructed. To predict accurate dynamic responses of structures connected a sky-bridge, time history analysis is required. Repetitive analyses are required in the design process. If the entire structure model is employed in the repetitive time history analysis, it would take a lot of computational time and engineers' efforts. Therefore, an equivalent model for high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge was proposed in this study. The proposed model consists of cantilever having original structure's stiffnesses and masses. Based on the analytical results, it has been shown that the equivalent model can reduce the analysis time and provide similar seismic responses to the original model.
This study deals with the design of bridge girder structures and consists of two parts. In the first part an optimal bridge girder topology is determined using a software based on structure compliance minimization with constraints imposed on the body mass, developed by the authors. In the second part, an original way in which the topology is mapped into a bridge girder structure is shown. Additionally, a method of converting the thickness of the bars obtained using the topology optimization procedure into cross sections is introduced. Moreover, stresses and material consumption for a girder design obtained through topology optimization and a typical truss girder are compared. Concluding, this paper shows that topology optimization is a good tool for obtaining optimal bridge girder designs.
This paper presents a robust controller in order to handle the guide rail vibrations of Bridge Inspection System. While a Bridge Inspection Robot moves on guide rails with vibration by weight occurs. Therefore, Guide rail as structure like cantilever beam appears vibration by weight of Bridge Inspection Robot. The Z axis of Bridge Inspection Robot operates with Scissors structure. Bridge Inspection Robot is used 'PID Controller based on Sliding Mode control' for position control with Z axis. At the result of, this paper is applied to simulation about position control regarding vibration to occur with Z axis.
Two plate girders bridge has an advantage for execution of works and quality control because of its simplicity of super-structure caused by decreasing in amount of members and also is distinguished as aesthetic bridge type. Recently this has been adopted for structure of highway as well railway and introduced into domestic. In order to plan or design two plate girders bridge more rationably, it is necessary to comprehend its structural behavior as well as to consider the critical resign factors. Thus, in this study the formulation of optimum design for two plate girders bridge is proposed and the critical resign variables ani restraints are considered and founded by caring out optimum design. The objective function of optimization is formulated as a minimum cost design problem. And the thickness and length of I-shaped section are decided as resign variables. The design constraints are formulated based on Design Criteria for Railroad(Bridges). By comparing the optimum results with those of the conventional resign, the effectiveness of proposed optimum design formulation is investigated. From the results, the way to do optimum design of two plate girders bridge is suggested.
During the passage of the train, the railway bridge undergoes vibration and noise. The noise of railway bridge can be occurred from various sources. The wheel-rail contact, noise from machinery parts, structural-borne noise, pantagraph noise and aerodynamic noise of the train work in combination. Running train is one of the most important factors for railway bridge vibration. The repeated forces with equidistant axles cause the magnification of dynamic responses which relates with maintenance of the track structure and structure-borne noises. The noise problem is one of the most important issues in services of light rail transit system which usually passes through towns. In the present study, The vibration and noise of the LRT bridge will be investigated with utilizing dynamics responses from moving train as input data for noise analysis.

Bridges are exposed to constantly changing weather conditions and temperature. The temperature change is induced by a change in atmospheric temperature and solar radiation. Atmospheric temperature change acts on the whole structure. Thus, it is relatively easy to consider in the design. Solar radiation, however, causes un-uniform temperature distribution in the structure, depending on the shape of the structure and its shadows. Un-uniform temperature distribution causes a torsional moment in bridge section and a deformation of bridge. A deformation can make differences of dynamic and static behavior of bridge. In this study, the method for analysis of static and dynamic behavior considering deformation and changes of material properties due to temperature variation was developed. By this method, it is found from dynamic analysis results that the change of frequency in analysis model is similar with test results of public used cable-stayed bridge. When a temperature goes down, a frequency goes up. And it is found that the change of frequency is affected by the change of material properties.
The damping ratio of railway bridge has become one of the most important issues in dynamic design and dynamic stability of railway bridge. In the present study, laboratory and field test were performed for railway bridges such as a twin I-shaped steel composite girder, PSC box, steel box, PSC, IPC, PRECOM, preflex. The damping ratio of railway bridge according to structure types was estimated by logarithmic decrement method. Therefore, magnitude, frequency and amplitude of load did not affect damping ratio of railway bridge. Also, damping ratio limit of steel composite and PSC bridges was evaluated in 1.0%.
