홍수시 소하천 교량에서의 하상세굴 연구 - 구례 정장교를 중심으로 - (A Study on The Bed Scour at Stream Bridge during Flood - In the case of Jeongjang Bridge in Gurye -)

  • The hydrological frequency of the flood in July 2000 at Seosi stream basin in Gurye and the bed scour of the stream channel were estimated to investigate the bed scour related with Jeongjang bridge collapse. The storm over the basin in July 2000, 303mm/day was 103year frequency rainfall and the equivalent flood was 2580cms. As the results of 100year and 30year flood application, flood level 30.78~31.38m and mean velocity 3.79~4.03m/s were appeared. And the purification project of Seosi stream increased the velocity of the section near to Jeongjang bridge by the improvement of conveyance at the downstream. The local scour at pier was the major factor of bed scour at Jeongjang bridge site and the total scour at pier No.6 was increased from 2.32m to 2.45m by the purification project.

일산대교 교각세굴 평가 사례 연구 (Case Study on Local Scour Evaluation of Il-San Bridge)

  • In this research, the reasonable local scour estimates considered conditions of the bed material and the flow was accomplished on two piers P14 and P17 of Il-san bridge. Especially, the Il-san bridge was located on the lower Han-river where is influenced by the tides of In-chon, and it has hydraulic condition that can cause the bridge piers local scour because of tides at ordinary times, as well as a flood. Therefore, the local scour depth has been presented influenced by the maximum velocity of the flow when a flood after construction and the tides on construction on the basis of the standards of river design and road design, furthermore, the results was made a comparative analysis. According to the results, the local scour depth on the basis of the standards of river design was higher than it on the basis of the standards of road design(SRICOS), and the local scour depth influenced by the maximum velocity of the flow when a flood after construction was determined the final local scour depth of P14 and P17 at the Il-san bridge. It was ascertained that the local scour depth did not exceed the inserted depth of bridge foundation.

교각세굴심 산정 공식의 통계적 특성 (Statistical Characteristics of Pier-Scour Equations for Scour Depth Calculation)

  • 최근 이상기후로 인한 집중호우, 대규모 태풍 등의 증가로 국지성 집중호우의 발생빈도가 높아지고 있다. 이로 인하여 국내 중소규모 하천의 유량이 급격하게 증가함에 따라 교량의 안전성에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 세굴에 대한 위험성도 증가하고 있다. 그러나 국내 교량건설기술에서는 교각 세굴심을 산정하기 위하여 해외의 교각 세굴심 산정식을 활용하고 있어 국내 하천의 유역특성을 반영하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 세굴현상에 따른 교량피해를 예방하기 위한 기초연구로써, 수리모형실험을 통해 측정된 실험자료와 국내에 적용되고 있는 세굴 산정식들간의 비교 분석을 수행하였다. 또한 실험자료와 세굴 산정식의 통계분석을 통하여 Coleman(1971) 공식이 가장 우수하게 세굴심을 산정하고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 하천설계 및 교량설계에 있어 보다 정확한 교각 세굴심을 산정하는데 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • In this study, qualitative and quantitative evaluations are performed using the hydraulic analysis of fiber stone for bridge pier scour protection. We can consider that the effective scour protection should be suggested from the side of hydraulic stability, structure stability, and permissible tractive force. The perfect verification, however, on the fiber stone for bridge pier scour protection is not sufficient because of short literatures and experiments on the field study. The continuous research, therefore, will be needed to establish reliable verification using literatures investigation and the various experiments on the fiber stone for bridge pier scour protection.

흐름특성과 하상특성을 동시에 고려한 교량세굴심 산정에 관한 연구 (Determination of Bridge Scour Depth Considering Flow Conditions and Bed Characteristics)

  • 본 연구에서는 하상이 단단한 지질구조로 이루어진 하상조건에서의 실제적인 세굴현상을 파악하기 위해 실시간 교량세굴 모니터링 시스템을 설치하여 홍수시의 세굴심을 측정하였다. 또한, 홍수 전$\cdot$후의 지반구조를 측정할 수 있는 GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar)탐사를 통하여 홍수로 인한 세굴가능성을 면밀히 파악하였다. 이와 같은 연구과정을 통해 지질구조에 따른 세굴심 산정공식의 적용성 여부를 판단하였고 하상특성과 흐름특성이 동시에 고려된 실제적인 세굴의 영향을 평가하였다.

세굴보호장치에 의한 교각주위의 국부세굴 실험 (Experimental Study on Local Scour around Bridge Piers by Scour Protection Devices)

  • This study based on the laboratory works, analyzes factors affecting local scour in order to understand various characteristics of the local scour surrounding bridge piers. Attached with scour protection device as a method for decreasing local scour, it carries out the laboratory experiments and calculates the scour depth. From the experiments attached with the scour protection devices, it seems possible to reduce the scour depth as the protecting plate, column and sacrificial piles are built in the same height with flume bed at pier or footing upstream interrupted falling-flow. And then it could reduce scour depth. The paper presents the following research results: First, the decreasing degree of scour depth is in order of protecting column, protecting plate, sacrificial piles and non-protecting facilities. However, it shows no meaningful difference between protecting column and protecting plate. Second, when $L_p/b$=0.5~1, the decreasing effect of scour depth reached the maximum of 40 percents.

교량에서의 총세굴깊이 산정을 위한 장기하상변동분석 (An Analysis of Long-Term Bed Elevation Changes to Estimate Total Scour Depth at Bridge Site)

  • 교량지점에서의 총세굴깊이는 세가지 성분 즉, 장기하상변동, 단면축소세굴, 그리고 국부세굴로 구성된다. 그러므로 장기하상변도의 분석은 교량지점에서의 총세굴깊이를 산정하는데 있어 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 CHARIMA모형과 HEC-6모형을 사용하여 남한강교 지점에서의 장기하상변동을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 5년 동안 정상류로 물이 흐를 경우 CHARIMA모형은 약 45cm의 하상고의 상승을 보여준 반면 HEC-6모형은 약 5cm정도 하상고가 저하되고 있음을 보여주었다. 5년 동안 부정류로 물이 흐를 경우 두 모형 모두 하상고가 심하게 변동됨을 보여주고 따라서 총세굴깊이 산정에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 그러므로 총세굴깊이를 적절하게 산정하기 위해서는 단면축소세굴과 국부세굴뿐만 아니라 장기하상변동 또한 정확히 산정해야 하겠다.

Reliability considerations in bridge pier scouring

  • The conventional design of bridge piers against scour uses scour equations which involve number of uncertain flow, sediments and structural parameters. The inherent high uncertainties in these parameters suggest that the reliability of piers must be assessed to ensure desirable safety of bridges against scour. In the present study, a procedure for the reliability assessment of bridge piers, installed in main and flood channels, against scour has been presented. To study the influence of various random variables on piers' reliability sensitivity analysis has been carried out. To incorporate the reliability in the evaluation of safety factor, a simplified relationship between safety factor and reliability index has been proposed. Effects of clear water (flood channel) and live bed scour (main channel) are highlighted on pier reliability. In addition to these, an attempt has also been made to explain the failure of Black mount bridge of New Zealand based on its pier's reliability analysis. Some parametric studies have also been included to obtain the results of practical interest.

S-SRICOS 방법 : 점성토지반의 교각세굴깊이 예측 (5-SRICOS Method : Prediction of Scour Depth Around Bridge Piers in Cohesive Soils)

  • 본 연구에서는 교각주위에 발생하는 국부세굴깊이를 예측하기 위한 5-SRICOS 방법을 제안하였다. 교각주위의 시간에 따른 세굴깊이 변화곡선을 예측하기 위해 SRICOS 방법이 개발된 바 있다. 이는 흙의 특성에 기초한 시간효과와 수리학적 매개변수를 동시에 고려할 수 있으며, SRICOS프로그램을 사용하여 실제의 수문곡선과 다층지반구조를 처리할 수 있는 방법이다. 5-SRICOS 방법은 이 SRICOS 방법의 단순화된 형태이다. 수계산만으로 세굴깊이를 예측할 수 있도록 SRICOS 방법을 단순화시키는 시도가 이루어졌으며, 그 결과 5-SRICOS 방법에서는 단지 교각폭, 교량 설계빈도, 설계유속, 흙의 초기 세굴속도와 같은 4가지 매개변수만이 요구된다. 5-SRICOS 방법은 SRICOS 방법을 사용하여 계산된 55개의 세굴깊이에 적용하여 검증되었다.

Impact spectrum of flood hazard on seismic vulnerability of bridges

  • Multiple hazards (multihazard) conditions may cause significant risk to structures that are originally designed for individual hazard scenarios. Such a multihazard condition arises when an earthquake strikes to a bridge pre-exposed to scour at foundations due to flood events. This study estimates the impact spectrum of flood-induced scour on seismic vulnerability of bridges. Characteristic river-crossing highway bridges are formed based on the information obtained from bridge inventories. These bridges are analyzed under earthquake-only and the abovementioned multihazard conditions, and bridge fragility curves are developed at component and system levels. Research outcome shows that bridges having pile shafts as foundation elements are protected from any additional seismic vulnerability due to the presence of scour. However, occurrence of floods can increase seismic fragility of bridges at lower damage states due to the adverse impact of scour on bridge components at superstructure level. These findings facilitate bridge design under the stated multihazard condition.
