  • Studies on diagnosis and treatment of tumor . abscess . ulcer in intestinal carbuncle were carried out. The result of studies were summerized as follows: 1. By Nai-Gyung carbuncle-tumor arose from disharmony between nutrient and defensive because of cold, abscess arose from fever victory between cold and fever, ulcer arose from decreasing function of Bi-Kam year. By latter literature Bi-Kam year could be interpreted that spleen stomach was invaded evil influence from unattainable vital force of the earth. 2. Sites of intestinal carbuncle were large intestine, small intestine, intestinal inside or outside between large and small intestine, Intestinal carbuncle was common name of a disease about large intestinal carbuncle, small intestinal carbuncle, pelvic intestinal carbuncle, shrink leg intestinal carbuncle etc.. Pain appeared Chunchu-Hyul in large intestinal carbuncle, and Gwanweon-Hyul in small intestinal carbuncle. 3. On abdominal diagnosis tumor had indistinct pain of Gwanweon Chunchu, edema and heary feeling in low abdomen, no excessive pain by hand press and intestinal boiling sound. In abscess pain descended from right side of low abdomen to huckle, and there was rejection against press, feeling about fever, water sound with flank movement. In ulcer hand approach was difficult since excessive pain diffuse to whole abdomen, and perforating ulcer sometimes caused a serious symptom of umbilical pus. 4. On fecal and urinary diagnosis in tumor urine was yellowish red pollakiuria like gonorrhoea and occasional constipation. In abscess uncomfortable rough pain short red early urine like gonorrhoea appeared during urination, and constipation with stinging pain appeared during defecation. In ulcer red rough pyuria appeared, and stinging and pain with puruloid blood appeared during defecation. 5. On treatment in tumor Daiwhang-Tang Daisenggi-Tang Dangui-Jun by dissipation method, calming down method, interior reliance maturation method, in abscess Mokdan-San Euiiin-Tang Jeokduiin-Tang by the method of water repelling pus discharge, acute breaking, in ulcer Takridanggui-Tang Paljin-Tang Bojungikki-Tang were each used by the method of interior reliance, virulence astriction, supplement vital force and blood, supplement spleen stomach. 6. On treatment patient may have to be careful of excessive moving and suprising anxiety. Abuse of acupuncture and moxibustion made patient worse, misuse of analgesics purgative intestinal irrigation etc. could provoke difficult diagnosis and perforation. So you must treat after exact diagnosis. 7. Prognosis of ease tumor ease abscess ease ulcer and ease astriction was good. If the intestinal carbuncle were not to promote to abscess and ulcer for a long time, its prognosis was bad and it could metastasize to cancer because of dark purple with hardness. So tumor abscess ulcer in intestinal carbuncle may be significant of precancerous lesion.

  • Moyamoya disease is characterized by progressive bilateral narrowing of the internal carotid arteries(ICA) and their main branches, and formation of a fine vascular network (moyamoya vessels) at the base of brain. Mild intellectual or motor impairment, or both can be seen in moyamoya disease patient. Patients having intellectual disability usually have malocclusions associated with oral habits such as tongue thrusting, bruxism, or clenching. A patient with moyamoya disease and cerebral palsy visited Chonbuk National University hospital for dental examination. She showed mild openbite on anterior teeth, and had oral habits such as mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, and drooling. She was treated with myofunctional therapy(MFT) whose purpose was to strengthen orofacial muscles. Lip closing force and bite force were recorded to evaluate the muscle tone. Tongue crib was delivered to restrict tongue thrusting habit, since her compliance to the MFT was decreased after 6 months of treatment. With the MFT and tongue crib, the openbite was fairly improved. When myofunctional therapy has difficulty in obtaining good compliances, the treatment should not be effective enough. Although intellectually disabled patients are not compliant enough, thus a habit breaking device should be needed to treat the openbite caused by oral habits, dentist should make an effort to do MFT, since it could reduce a treatment period, and enhance the stability.

  • To verify the effect of inner- and outer-stage gas jets, a shear coaxial injector was designed to analyze the axial velocity profile and breakup phenomenon with an increase in the measurement distance. When the measurement position was increased to Z/d=100, the axial flow showed a fully developed shape due to the momentum transfer, aerodynamic drag effect, and viscous mixing. An inner gas injection, which induces a higher momentum flux ratio near the nozzle, produces the greater shear force on atomization than an outer gas injection. Inner- and Outer-stage gas injection do not affect the mixing between the inner and outer gas flow below Z/d=5. The experiment results showed that the main effect of liquid jet breakup was governed by the gas jet of an inner stage. As the nozzle exit of the outer-stage was located far from the liquid column, shear force and turbulence breaking up of the liquid jets do not fully affect the liquid column. In the case of an inner-stage gas injection momentum flux ratio within 0.84, with the increase in the outer gas momentum flux ratio, the SMD decreases. However, at an inner-stage gas jet momentum flux ratio over 1.38, the SMD shows the similar distribution.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of washing times on quality characteristics of chicken breast surimi. The surimi was prepare after 2 (C), 4 (T1) and 6 (T2) times washed with a ratio 6 : 1 distilled water-chicken breast meat. The moisture and crude protein content of T1 and T2 were higher than that of C. The myofibrillay protein and yield of C was higher (p<0.05) than those of T1 and T2. The pH of C was higher (p<0.05) compare to other treatments. The WHC was no significant differences between the all treatments. The shear force of all treatments were tended to higher as washing times increased. The breaking force and deformation value of T2 were lower than other treatments. The $L^{*}$ values in C and $b^{\ast}$ values in T1 were significantly (p<0.05) lower among the treatments group. The hardness and gumminess of T1 was higher (p<0.05) compared to T2. The springiness of treatments increased as washing times increased. The sensory score of surimi made from chicken breast meat was not affected by the washing times.

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate gender differences in ground reaction force (GRF) components among different speeds of running. Method: Twenty men ($age=22.4{\pm}1.6years$, $mass=73.4{\pm}8.4kg$, $height=176.2{\pm}5.6cm$) and twenty women ($age=20.7{\pm}1.2years$, $mass=55.0{\pm}8.2kg$, $height=163.9{\pm}5.3cm$) participated in this study. All participants were asked to run on an instrumented dual belt treadmill (Bertec, USA) at 8, 12, and 16 km/h for 3 min, after warming up. GRF data were collected from 30 strides while they were running. Hypotheses were tested using one-way ANOVA, and level of significance was set at p-value <.05. Results: The time to passive peaks was significantly earlier in women than in men at three different running speeds (p<.05). Further, the impact loading rates were significantly greater in women than in men at three different running speeds (p<.05). Moreover, the propulsive peak at 8 km/h, which is the slowest running speed, was significantly greater in women than in men (p<.05), and the vertical impulse at 16 km/h, which is the fastest running speed, was significantly greater in men than in women (p<.05). The absolute anteroposterior impulse at 8 km/h was significantly greater in women than in men (p<.05). In addition, as the running speed increased, impact peak, active peak, impact loading rate, breaking peak, propulsive peak, and anteroposterior impulse were significantly increased, but vertical impulse was significantly decreased (p<.05). Conclusion: The impact loading rate is greater in women than in men regardless of different running speeds. Therefore, female runners might be exposed to the risk of potential injuries related to the bone and ligament. Moreover, increased running speeds could lead to higher possibility of running injuries.

  • We numerically analyzed the nonlinear shoaling, a plunging breaker and its accompanying energetic suspension of sediment at a bed, and a redistribution of suspended sediments by a down rush of preceding waves and the following plunger using SPH with a Gaussian kernel function, Lagrangian Dynamic Smagorinsky model (LDS), Van Rijn's pick up function. In that process, we came to the conclusion that the conventional model for the tractive force at a bottom like a quadratic law can not accurately describe the rapidly accelerating flow over a swash zone, and propose new methodology to accurately estimate the bottom tractive force. Using newly proposed wave model in this study, we can successfully duplicate severely deformed water surface profile, free falling water particles, a queuing splash after the landing of water particles on the free surface and a wave finger due to the structured vortex on a rear side of wave crest (Narayanaswamy and Dalrymple, 2002), a circulation of suspended sediments over a swash zone, net transfer of sediments clouds suspended over a swash zone toward the offshore, which so far have been regarded very difficult features to mimic in the computational fluid mechanics.

  • Recently, high speed of container freight cars is causing fatigue damage of wheel. Sudden failure accidents cause a lot of physical and human damages. Therefore, damage analysis for wheel prevents failure accident of container freight car. Wheel receives mechanical and thermal loads at the same time while rolling stocks are run. The mechanical loads applied to wheel are classified by the horizontal load from contact of wheel and rail in curve line section and by the vertical force from rolling stocks weight. Also, braking and deceleration of rolling stocks cause repeated thermal load by wheel tread braking. Specially, braking of rolling stocks is frictional braking method that brake shoe is contacted in wheel tread by high breaking pressure. Frictional heat energy occurs on the contact surface between wheel tread and brake shoe. This braking converts kinetic energy of rolling stocks into heat energy by friction. This raises temperature rapidly and generates thermal loads in wheel and brake shoe. There mechanical and thermal loads generate crack and residual stress in wheel. Wetenkamp estimated temperature distribution of brake shoe experimentally. Donzella proposed fatigue life using thermal stress and residual stress. However, the load applied to wheel in aforementioned most researches considered thermal load and mechanical vertical load. Exact horizontal load is not considered as the load applied to wheel. Therefore, above-mentioned loading methods could not be applied to estimate actual stress applied to wheel. Therefore, this study proposed safety estimation on wheel of freight car using heat-structural coupled analysis on the basis of loading condition and stress intensity factor.
