GIS 스페이서의 전계해석 시뮬레이션 및 파괴전압 특성 개선 (Electric Field Analysis Simulation and Improvement of Breakdown Characteristics on the GIS Spacer)

  • This paper describes the particle-initiated breakdown characteristics of various spacers, which have a ribbed surface, in the presence of a metallic particle. The particle was attached on the surface of each spacer. The breakdown voltages were measured by changing the length and thickness of the rib. Also the electrical field analyses were performed. As a result, the breakdown voltage of the spacer with two ribs was highest, and it was varied by the length and the thickness of the rib. Especially, in case of the rib with round edge, the breakdown voltage was higher than that with rectangular edge, which complied with the result through the field analysis.

  • Zinc-Borosilicate is used as a side insulator wall to make high breakdown voltage with one Field Limiting Ring in a power p-n junction device in simulation. It is known that surface charge density can be yield at the interface of Zinc-Borosilicate glass / silicon system. When the glass is used as a side insulator wall, surface charge varied potential distribution and breakdown voltage is improved 1090 V under the same structure.The breakdown voltage under varying the surface charge density has a limit value. When the epitaxial thickness is varied, the position of FLR doesn't influence to the breakdown characteristic not only under non punch-through structure but also under punch-through structure.   • The dielectric breakdown of epoxy composites used for transformers was experimented and then its data were simulated by Weibull distribution probability. First of all, speaking of dielectric breakdown properties, the more hardener increased the stronger breakdown strength at low temperature because of cross-linked density by the virtue of ester radical. The breakdown strength of specimens with filler was lower than it of non-filler specimens because it is believed that the adding filler forms interface and charge is accumulated in it, therefore the molecular motility is raised and the electric field is concentrated. In the case of filled specimens with treating silane, the breakdown strength become much higher Finally, from the analysis of weibull distribution, it was confirmed that as the allowed breakdown probability was given by 0.1[%], the applied field value needed to be under 21.5 [Mv/cm].

  • In this study, the dieiectric breakdown of epoxy composites used for transformers was experimented and then its data were simulated by Weibull distribution probability . As a result. first of all, speaking of dielectric breakdown properties, the more hardener increased the stronger breakdown strength at low temperature, and the breakdown strength of specimens because it is believed that the adding filler farms interface and charge is accumulated in it, therefore the molecular motility is raised, the electric field is concentrated, and the acceleration of electron and the growth of electron avalanche are early accomplished. In the case of filled specimens with treating silane, the breakdown strength become much higher since the suggests that silane coupling agent improves interfacial combination and relays electric field concentration. Finally, from the analysis 7f weibull distribution. it was confirmed that as the allowed breakdown probability was given by 0.11[%].

  • This research concerns field rings for 3.3kV planar gate power insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). We design an optimal field ring for a 3.3kV power IGBT and analyze its electrical characteristics according to field ring parameters. Based on this background, we obtained 3.3kV high breakdown voltage and a 2.9V on state voltage drop. To obtain high breakdown voltage, we confirmed that the field ring count was 23, and we obtained optimal parameters. The gap distance between field rings $13{\mu}m$ and the field ring width was $5{\mu}m$. This design technology will be adapted to field stop IGBTs and super junction IGBTs. The thyristor device for a power conversion switch will be replaced with a super high voltage power IGBT.

  • The accidents caused by dielectric instability have been increasing in power grid. It is important to enhance the dielectric reliability of a high voltage apparatus to reduce the damage from electrical hazards. To develop an electrically reliable high voltage apparatus, the experimental study on the electrical breakdown field strength is indispensable, as well as theoretical approach. In this paper, the lightning impulse breakdown characteristics considering utilization factors are studied for the establishment of insulation design criteria of an high voltage apparatus. The utilization factors are represented as the ratio of mean electric field to maximum electric field. Dielectric experiments are performed by using several kinds of sphere-plane electrode systems made of stainless steel. As a result, it is found that dielectric characteristics are affected by not only maximum electric field intensity but also utilization factors of electrode systems. The results are expected to be applicable to designing the air-insulated high voltage apparatuses.

Prebreakdown Phenomena of $SF_{6}$ Gas in a Non-uniform Field Disturbed by a Metallic Protrusion

  • This paper deals with the prebreakdown phenomena of $SF_{6}$ gap stressed by non-oscillating and oscillating impulse voltages in a strong inhomogeneous field disturbed by a fred needle shaped-protrusion on the earth-side electrode. The breakdown voltage-time characteristics were measured for both positive and negative polarities and over the gas pressure range of 0.1∼0.5 MPa, and the temporal developments of the 77breakdown were observed by a shunt of 50 n. The dependence of the leader stopping time on the gas pressure were obtained. The local field enhancement due to the space charges, which is produced by the streamer corona, has influence with the electrical breakdown of the test gap. The test streamer corona is oxy a necessary condition for the electrical breakdown and the subsequent ionization activities launch the leader at the local field region.
