A Kinematic Analysis on Lateral Break-Fall of Security Nartial Arts (경호무도 측방낙법의 운동학적 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze kinematic variables regarding lateral break-fall quantitatively that can protect the body, prevent the injury and minimize the impact. To this end, three Hapkido, judo athletes of H University with experience of over 5 years were selected. Test was conducted through three dimensional image analysis by checking the time and order the subjects reach a mat. In this study, lateral break-fall was repeated five times and among them, the best movement was selected. The picture shot with high-speed camera was analyzed by using KWON3D ver. 3.1 program through three dimensional coordinate calculation based on DLT method and smoothing process of data. Study results were as follows. 1. With respect to time variables shown in lateral break-fall of A, B, C athletes, there is small difference in temporal variables and in the order the body reaches a mat. With respect to average value, hand is ($0.94{\pm}0.20$), elbow ($0.97{\pm}0.17$), hip ($0.97{\pm}0.18$), back ($0.98{\pm}0.18$), and shoulder ($1.04{\pm}0.16$). Time variable the body reaches a mat in lateral break-fall is in hand, elbow, hip, back and shoulder. 2. With respect to moving distance variables shown in lateral break-fall of A, B, C athletes, hand is ($34.33{\pm}34.59$), elbow ($52.00{\pm}26.06$), hip ($70.00{\pm}15.72$), back ($153.67{\pm}17.93$), and should ($130.67{\pm}29.02$). The fact that this study contributed to improving security martial arts technique and protecting the body by understanding the principle of lateral break-fall movement is of significance. In addition, the fact that this study provided systematic basic data for improving security martial arts technique is significant.

  • In this study, the factors affecting reality aspect of virtual reality system were identified through Quality Function Deployment. The influence of some selected factors was evaluated in simulated performance test. It was shown that the factor of whether user can break through the objects in virtual space is the most sensitive to performance, followed by the factors of rotation angle and movement step. Also, the results implied that as more referents were provided to user, feeling of reality was enhanced.

  • In this paper, the crack properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFHC) beams by experimental method are discussed. The major role played by the steel fiber occurs in the post-cracking zone, in which the fibers bridge across the cracked matrix. Because of its improved ability to break crack, SFRC has better crack properties than that of reinforced concrete (RC). Crack properties are influenced by longitudinal reinforcement ratio, volume and type of steel fiber, strength of concrete and the stress level. Crack width and crack number in the SFRC beams havebeen evaluated from experimental test data at various levels in the beams.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the hydride embrittlement when the LBB evaluation is carried out for the integrity of PHWR Pressure Tubes. The transverse tensile and CCT tests were performed at three hydrogen concentrations while the test temperatures were changed (RT to $300^{\circ}C$). The specimens were directly machined from the pressure tube retaining original curvature. Both the transverse tensile and the fracture toughness tests showed the hydrogen embrittlement clearly at RT but this phenomenon was disappeared while the test temperature arrived over $250^{\circ}C$. Using the DHC test results, the CCL and LBB time were calculated and compared. The hydride embrittlement behavior at the LBB evaluation was definitely showed.

  • For the noise reduction measures in a construction field or near the traffic line receiver is often the most economic measure in order to exclude the propagated sound. The dimension of the barrier is decided by the noise and construction design, and the constructive quality of a soundproof panel shall be secured in accordance with KS F4770 to guarantee the safety of sound barriers. In this paper the problems included in the KS F4770-1 that is the regulation for the metallic sound barrier of the absorption type are identified and it is suggested what to be corrected or improved. Through a series of the analyses, conclusions were reached that it is required to improve test methods in KS F4770-1 as well as to break down test loads for building more cost-effective sound barrier.

  • This paper theoretically analyzed the relations between the out-put braking torque and the wheel cylinder pressure in the leading-trailing drum brake for heavy duty truck as the characteristics of friction in break lining, comparing with the results derived from full-scale inertial brake dynamometer test in actual braking condition to develop reliable brake system in extensive using conditions. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) The characteristic curve representing the relations between BEF (Brake Effectiveness Factor) and Friction coefficient derived from theoretical analysis are consistent with the experimental results of dynamometer test. 2) According to the results of dynamometer test, the friction coefficient of brake lining is subject to initial brake speed and the actual using temperature in brake system.
