This study presents a 3D non-linear finite element (FE) assessment of dynamic soil-structure interaction (SSI). The numerical investigation has been performed on the time domain through a Finite Element (FE) system, while considering the nonlinear behavior of soil and the multi-directional nature of genuine seismic events. Later, the FE outcomes are analyzed to the recorded in-situ free-field and structural movements, emphasizing the numerical model's great result in duplicating the observed response. In this work, the soil response is simulated using an isotropic hardening elastic-plastic hysteretic model utilizing HSsmall. It is feasible to define the non-linear cycle response from small to large strain amplitudes through this model as well as for the shift in beginning stiffness with depth that happens during cyclic loading. One of the most difficult and unexpected tasks in resolving soil-structure interaction concerns is picking an appropriate ground motion predicted across an earthquake or assessing the geometrical abnormalities in the soil waves. Furthermore, an artificial neural network (ANN) has been utilized to properly forecast the non-linear behavior of soil and its multi-directional character, which demonstrated the accuracy of the ANN based on the RMSE and R2 values. The total result of this research demonstrates that complicated dynamic soil-structure interaction processes may be addressed directly by passing the significant simplifications of well-established substructure techniques.

This paper details the analytical and experimental studies performed to propose a steel damper based on the flexural yielding mechanism. The damper is composed of a set of damping plates that are designed to yield in flexure. The comparison of experimental and finite element analysis results indicate that the analytical approach adopted in this study should be appropriate to perform sensitivity studies on the geometries of the damping plates. Although the damper is originally proposed to work based on the flexural mechanism, it is observed that the contribution of the tensile behavior of the damping plate could be considerable. As the thickness of the damping plate increases, the plastic energy due to the flexural yield increases. As the thickness of the damping plate decreases, the contribution of the tensile behavior increases, and the shape of the hysteresis loop distorts.
The correlation between propagation of electrical tree and internal partial discharges is discussed. We use specimens with needle-plane electrode system made of LDPE(Low Density Polyethylene), observed inception and propagation of electrical tree by optical microscope and investigated the characteristics of the partial discharge (PD) pulses accompanying with propagation of electrical tree. In the specimens with needle-shaped void, the tree propagates branch type. The length of the tree has good linear relation with average discharge power of PD pulses. In the specimens without needle-shaped void, the tree grows bush type tree. The correlation between the area of the tree and the average discharge power of PD pulses has linear relation.

One of the objectives to prevent building pounding between two adjacentstructures is to considerseparation distance or decrease relative displacement during seismic excitation. Although the majority of building codes around the world have basically suggested some equations or approximately recommended various distances between structuresto avoid pounding hazard, but a lot of reportsin zone of pounding have obviously shown thatsafety situation or economic consideration are not always provided due to the collisions between buildings and the cost of land, respectively. For this purpose, a dynamic MDOF model by having base isolation system is numerically considered and using various earthquake records, relative displacements are mathematically investigated. Different equations to determine the value of damping ratio are collected and the results of evaluations are listed for comparison among them to present a new equation for determination of impact damping ratio. Presented equation is depends significantly on impact velocity before and after impact based on artificial neural network, which the accuracy of them is investigated and also confirmed. In order to select the optimum equation, hysteresisloop of impact between base of building and rubber bumper is considered and compared with the hysteresis loop of each impact, calculated by different equations. Finally, using representative equation, the effect of thickness, number and stiffness of rubber bumpers are numerically investigated. The results of analysis indicate that stiffness and number of bumpers have significantly affected in zone of impact force while the thickness of bumpers have not shown significant influence to calculate impact force during earthquake. For instance, increasing the number of bumpers, gap size between structures and also the value of stiffness is caused to decrease impact force between models. The final evaluation demonstrates that bumpers are able to decrease peak lateral displacement of top story during impact.
Y chromosomal short tandem repeat (Y-STR) markers have been developed continuously to complement forensic DNA analyses and population genetic studies. Initially, we collected data from previously reported Korean population Y-STR haplotype studies on 1133 individuals. We then conducted a marker expansion analysis using a dataset from the Y-STR Haplotype Reference Database (YHRD), covering up to 29 Y-STRs, referred to as Ymax. Additionally, we examined the impact of rapidly mutating (RM) Y-STRs included in this expanded marker set on the discrimination capacity. We observed that marker expansions both with (0.9896), and without (0.9510), RM Y-STR improved the discrimination capacity. Subsequently, we focused on 16 individuals belonging to seven distinct groups sharing identical haplotypes. These particular haplotypes had been previously identified among 476 unrelated males using 23 Y-STR markers from the PowerPlex® Y23 System. We expanded the marker panel up to Ymax to explore how discrimination improved with an expansion of Y-STR markers for these 16 individuals. Among the expanded markers, DYS627, which had high discriminatory power, had a high mutation rate (1.10 × 10-2) and high gene diversity (0.83). In contrast, DYF387S1 displayed high gene diversity (0.95) but a relatively low mutation rate (2.80 × 10-3). We propose that these findings will be valuable in the selection of suitable Y-STR markers, depending on the objectives of forensic analyses. Additionally, the presence of frequently observed Y-haplotypes in Korean population will facilitate statistical interpretation in Y-STR DNA profiling.
The cytokine IL-7 plays critical and nonredundant roles in T cell immunity so that the abundance and availability of IL-7 act as key regulatory mechanisms in T cell immunity. Importantly, IL-7 is not produced by T cells themselves but primarily by non-lymphoid lineage stromal cells and epithelial cells that are limited in their numbers. Thus, T cells depend on cell extrinsic IL-7, and the amount of in vivo IL-7 is considered a major factor in maximizing and maintaining the number of T cells in peripheral tissues. Moreover, IL-7 provides metabolic cues and promotes the survival of both naïve and memory T cells. Thus, IL-7 is also essential for the functional fitness of T cells. In this regard, there has been an extensive effort trying to increase the protein abundance of IL-7 in vivo, with the aim to augment T cell immunity and harness T cell functions in anti-tumor responses. Such approaches started under experimental animal models, but they recently culminated into clinical studies, with striking effects in re-establishing T cell immunity in immunocompromised patients, as well as boosting anti-tumor effects. Depending on the design, glycosylation, and the structure of recombinantly engineered IL-7 proteins and their mimetics, recombinant IL-7 molecules have shown dramatic differences in their stability, efficacy, cellular effects, and overall immune functions. The current review is aimed to summarize the past and present efforts in the field that led to clinical trials, and to highlight the therapeutical significance of IL-7 biology as a master regulator of T cell immunity.

Background: The facial artery is an important blood vessel responsible for supplying the anterior face. Understanding the branching patterns of the facial artery plays a crucial role in various medical specialties such as plastic surgery, dermatology, and oncology. This knowledge contributes to improving the success rate of facial reconstruction and aesthetic procedures. However, debate continues regarding the classification of facial artery branching patterns in the existing literature. Methods: We conducted a comprehensive anatomical study, in which we dissected 102 facial arteries from 52 embalmed and formaldehyde-fixed Vietnamese cadavers at the Anatomy Department, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Results: Our investigation revealed eight distinct termination points and identified 35 combinations of branching patterns, including seven arterial branching patterns. These termination points included the inferior labial artery, superior labial artery, inferior alar artery, lateral nasal artery, angular artery typical, angular artery running along the lower border of the orbicularis oculi muscle, forehead branch, duplex, and short course (hypoplastic). Notably, the branching patterns of the facial artery displayed marked asymmetry between the left and right sides within the same cadaver. Conclusion: The considerable variation observed in the branching pattern and termination points of the facial artery makes it challenging to establish a definitive classification system for this vessel. Therefore, it is imperative to develop an anatomical map summarizing the major measurements and geometric features of the facial artery. Surgeons and medical professionals involved in facial surgery and procedures must consider the detailed anatomy and relative positioning of the facial artery to minimize the risk of unexpected complications.
This study proposes an integrated operational model of branches with customer center at stock brokerage firms and suggests ways to improve existing systems. This suggested integrated model of branches and customer centers can increase customer satisfaction and customer values for the specific services at each channel. This integrated model also enables customers to make transactions at a desired specific time, make it possible to inquire whatever the customer wished to ask, and select desired contact channels. In addition, the firms can bring in improved effectiveness of internal resources by integrating all the resources the firm has. Personal resources and system resources are distributed by the characteristics of channels that can be selected by the customers. Then agents also can provide more speedy and accurate responses to the engaged customer interactions matching to his/her job in charge. Also, the model makes it possible to collect the latest customer and transaction information at the moment of each interactions, by which the firm can provide customized services specifically tailed to each customers' preferences. However, systematic interactions between branches and customer center, and completed system should be equipped with in order to provide the highest quality services.
In this paper, the proposed scheme is STBC(space-time block codes) system combined with convolution code which is the most popular channel coding to ensure the reliability of data transmission for a high data rate wireless communication. The STBC is one of MIMO(multi-input multi-output) techniques. In addition, this scheme uses a modified viterbi algorithm in order to get a high system gain when data is transmitted. Because we combine STBC and convolution code, the proposed scheme has a little high quantity of computation but it can get a maximal diversity gain of STBC and a high coding gain of convolution code at the same time. Unlike existing viterbi docoding algorithm using Hamming distance in order to calculate branch matrix, the modified viterbi algorithm uses Euclidean distance value between received symbol and reference symbol. Simulation results show that the modified viterbi algorithm improved gain 7.5 dB on STBC 2Tx-2Rx at $BER=10^{-2}$. Therefore the proposed scheme using STBC combined with convolution code can improve the transmission reliability and transmission efficiency.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting(DMB) is a reliable multi-service system for reception by mobile and portable receivers. DMB system allows interference-free reception under the conditions of multipath propagation and transmission errors using COFDM modulation scheme, simultaneously, needs powerful channel error's correction ability. Viterbi Decoder for DMB receiver uses punctured convolutional code and needs lots of computations for real-time operation. So, it is desired to design a high speed and low-power hardware scheme for Viterbi decoder. This paper proposes a combined add-compare-select(ACS) and path metric normalization(PMN) unit for computation power. The proposed PMN architecture reduces the problem of the critical path by applying fixed value for selection algorithm due to the comparison tree which has a weak point from structure with the high-speed operation. The proposed ACS uses the decomposition and the pre-computation technique for reducing the complicated degree of the adder, the comparator and multiplexer. According to a simulation result, reduction of area $3.78\%$, power consumption $12.22\%$, maximum gate delay $23.80\%$ occurred from punctured viterbi decoder for DMB system.
