Ultra-thin films of amphiphillic squarylium dye were prepared on the hydrophillic substrate by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. In this study, the photoelectric properties of a amphiphillic squarylium dye LB film was investigated. The visible light(${\lambda}$ = 684nm ) of xenon lamp was illuminated on the amphiphillic squarylium dye LB films and light absorptivity and photoconductivity were observed. The photoconductivity was nearly constant regardless of nominal layer number. The photoelectric properties of the amphiphillic squarylium dye LB films with bottom electrode showed better than that top electrode.

We report investigations on a Pentacene thin film as a component for active layer of Organic thin film transistors. Pentacene film was deposited by Organic Molecular Beam Deposition(OMBD) and Al electrode was deposoted by vacuum evaporation. Electrical characterization of Pentacene films were measured by the three-terminal contact resistance methods, as the results contact resistance between pentacene films and the Aluminium electrode is 5.064G$\Omega$. The Al contact with the pentacene shows the bottom contact resistance. From the current-voltage characteristics, electrical conductivity of the Pentacene film is found as ~ 10$^{-4}$ /cm. physical characterization of pentacene films were measured by UV-spectrum and Cyclic-Voltammetry method.
Film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) devices which adopt an air-gap type (metai/AlN/metal/air/substrate) configuration are fabricated by a novel process. The newly fabricated resonator doesn't employ any supporting layer below it. FBAR devices with the air-gap type are also fabricated using the conventional method. The frequency response characteristics of all the devices fabricated are measured and compared, in terms of the kinds of top and bottom electrode materials. The results show that the better device performance of FBAR devices can be achieved by employing the proposed process.
In this paper, a plasma-assisted patterning method for the organic layers of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and its effect on the OLED performances are reported. Oxygen plasma was used to etch the organic layers, using the top electrode consisting of lithium fluoride and aluminum as an etching mask. Although the current flow at low voltages increased for the etched OLEDs, there was no significant degradation of the OLED efficiency and lifetime in comparison with the conventional OLEDs. Therefore, this method can be used to reduce the ohmic voltage drop along the common top electrodes by connecting the top electrode with highly conductive bus lines after the common organic layers on the bus lines are etched by plasma. To further analyze the current increase at low voltages, the plasma patterning effect on the OLED performance was investigated by changing the device sizes, especially in one direction, and by changing the etching depth in the vertical direction of the device. It was found that the current flow increase at low voltages was not proportional to the device sizes, indicating that the current flow increase does not come from the leakage current along the etched sides. In the etching depth experiment, the current flow at low voltages did not increase when the etching process was stopped in the middle of the hole transport layer. This means that the current flow increase at low voltages is closely related to the modification of the hole injection layer, and thus, to the modification of the interface between the hole injection layer and the bottom electrode.

Graphene have showed promising performance as electrodes of organic devices such as organic transistors, light-emitting diodes, and photovoltaic solar cells. In particular, among various organic materials of graphene-based organic devices, pentacene has been regarded as one of the promising organic material because of its high mobility, chemical stability. In the bottom-contact device configuration generally used as graphene based pentacene devices, the morphology of the organic semiconductors at the interface between a channel and electrode is crucial to efficient charge transport from the electrode to the channel. For the high quality morphology, understanding of initial stages of pentacene growth is essential. In this study, we investigate self-assembly of pentacene molecules on graphene formed on a 6H-SiC (0001) substrate by scanning tunneling microscopy. At sub-monolayer coverage, adsorption of pentacene molecules on epitaxial graphene is affected by $6{\times}6$ pattern originates from the underlying buffer layer. And the orientation of pentacene in the ordered structure is aligned with the zigzag direction of the edge structure of single layer graphene. As coverage increased, intermolecular interactions become stronger than molecule-substrate interaction. As a result, herringbone structures the consequence of higher intermolecular interaction are observed.

Silicon can be reactive ion etched (RIE) either isotropically or anisotropically. In this paper, a new micromachining technology combining these two etching characteristics is proposed. In the proposed method, the fabrication steps are as follows. First. a polysilicon layer, which is used as the bottom electrode, is deposited on the silicon wafer and patterned. Then the silicon substrate is etched anisotropically to a few micrometer depth that forms a cavity. Then an PECVD oxide layer is deposited to passivate the cavity side walls. The oxide layers at the top and bottom faces are removed while the passivation layers of the side walls are left. Then the substrate is etched again but in an isotropic etch condition to form a round trench with a larger radius than the anisotropic cavity. Then a sacrificial PECVD oxide layer is deposited and patterned. Then a polysilicon structural layer is deposited and patterned. This polysilicon layer forms a pivot structure of a rocker-arm. Finally, oxide sacrificial layers are etched away. This new micromachining technology is quite simpler than conventional method to fabricate joint structures, and the devices that are fabricated using this technology do not require a flexing structure for motion.

We fabricated highly transparent and flexible Ti doped In2O3 (TIO)/Ag nanowire(NW)/TIO (TAT) multilayer electrodes by linear facing target sputtering (LFTS) and brush-painting for used as flexible for anode organic solar cells(FOSCs). The characteristics of TAT transparent anode as a function of number of brush-painting cycles was also investigated. At optimized conditions we achieved highly flexible TAT multilayer electrodes with a low sheet resistance of $9.01{\Omega}/square$ and a high diffusive transmittance more than 80% in visible region as well as superior mechanical stability. The effective embedment of the Ag NW network between top and bottom TIO films led to a metallic conductivity, high transparency. Based on FE-SEM HRTEM, and XRD analysis, we can find that the Ag NW network was effectively embedded between top and bottom TIO layers due to good flexibility of Ag NW, the TAT multilayer showed superior flexibility than single TIO layer. Successful operation of FOSCs with high power conversion efficiency of 3.01% indicates that TAT hybrid electrode is a promising alternative to conventional ITO electrode for high performance FOSCs.
Efficient top-emitting organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated using copper iodide (CuI) doped NPB as a p-doped hole injection layer to improve hole injection from a silver bottom electrode. The enhanced hole injection is originated from the formation of the charge transfer complex between CuI and NPB. The devices result in high efficiency of 69 cd/A with almost Lambertian emission pattern.

We have studied an organic layer and semitransparent Al cathode thickness dependent optical properties for top-emission organic light-emitting diodes. Device structure is ITO(170nm)/TPD(xnm)/$Alq_3$(ynm)/LiF(0.5nm)/Al(100nm) and Al(100nm)/TPD(xnm)/$Alq_3$(ynm)/LiF(0.5nm)/Al(25nm). While a thickness of total, organic layer was varied from 85nm to 165nm, a ratio of those two layers was kept to be about 2:3. Then it was compared with that of bottom devices. And a thickness of semitransparent Al cathode was varied from 20nm to 30nm for the device with an organic layer thickness of 140nm. We were able to control the emission spectra from the top-emission organic light-emitting diodes.

We investigated the electrical characterisitics of T $a_2$$O_{5}$ (tantalum pentoxide) film and Ti-O/T $a_2$$O_{5}$ film deposited on $Al_2$$O_3$based substrate. Ta (tantalum) electrode and $Al_2$$O_3$ substrate was used for the purpose of simplifying the manufacturing process in IPD's (integrated passive devices). Dielectric materials (T $a_2$$O_{5}$ and Ti-O/T $a_2$$O_{5}$ films) deposited on Ta/Ti/A $l_2$$O_3$ were annealed at 700 $^{\circ}C$ for 60 sec. in vacuum. The XRD results showed that as-deposited T $a_2$$O_{5}$ film possessed amorphous structure, which was transformed to crystallines by rapid thermal heat treatment. We compared the lnJ- $E^{{\frac}{1}{2}}$, C-V, C-F of both as-deposited and annealed dielectric thin films deposited on Ta bottom electrode. From this results, we concluded that the leakage current could be reduced by introducing Ti-O buffer layer and conduction mechanisms of T $a_2$$O_{5}$ and Ti-O/T $a_2$$O_{5}$ could be interpreted appropriately by Schottky emission effect.
