  • Recently, interests on e-book (electronic-book) have been increasing since e-book can provide many benefits than traditional books can do. Especially, e-book can be attractive for elementary school students due to its interaction provided by various multimedia tools. However, despite the fact that the numbers of elementary school students using e-book have been increasing, researches on e-book have not made a significant progress. Also since most researches on e-book have been concentrating on fairy tale books without considering interaction, the true virtue of e-book has not been maximized. Taking this into account, this study is intended to suggest an e-book design model for elementary school students with interaction among learners reinforced. In this study, first, existing e-book design models are analyzed in terms of interaction. Based on this analysis, an e-book design model is designed and developed. The proposed model can help learners interact within their learning levels, support with many functions such as interchangeable help function, various search instruments, previews, messenger functions, and provide a book-like environment where learners themselves can take initiative in learning.

  • The study explored the extent of the effect of content book trailer services among the specialized services of the library using the latest technology. The AIDMA&AISAS model was employed to measure the seven reactions of user behavior: Attention, Interest, Search, Desire, Memory, Action, and Share. A total of 287 responses were analyzed by conducting surveys with users who had experienced book trailer services at 13 public libraries located in Incheon. The study found that there were significant differences in user behavioral reactions in all of the content genre, including message, conflict, and character, and in particular, the character genre had the highest effects, followed by conflict and message genres. However, the post-hoc test indicated that there was no significant difference between the genres of conflict and character in terms of interest, search, and user satisfaction. The present study suggests theoretical implications by assessing and confirming the effects of book trailer services of the content genre on the reactions of user behavior compared with previous studies that measured the effects of the book trailer services of the form genre, and further practical implications for effective book trailer services.

But the digitization of books that has a variety of interests, coupled with several problems, including class action, in addition the many critical discussions are underway. Korea pushed the national digitization projects, what are libraries' digitizing their collection of many books. Of course, in publishing and digitization of the target is limited to books published ahead of Google. However, the Library Act was amended for the reposition of online materials, but only in the ways that Google's case is different. Library Act permits collection of online resources through the library to allow, the legislation can be considered as leading act. However, online data is publicly not available through the Internet, so this service hae limited means and range unlike Google. This paper, the digitization of books in the library due to copyright, examines the legal issues looking for the desirable solution. • The enumerative classification schemes do not represent the tiny mass of knowledge embodied in a article in a periodical or in a chapter or a paragraph of a book. But today's information centers regard a tiny spot of knowledge embodied in a article as a class. we call this micro-thought. But the enumerative classification are manual systems, it cannot be a n.0, pplied to the automation of classification. The purpose of this study is to build a general principle for the automatic book-classification which can be put to use in library operation, and to present a methodology of the automatic classification for the library. The methodology used is essentially theoretical, Published works by and about Ranganathan, especially 6th edition of the CC were studied, analyzed. The principle of automatic book classification derived from the analysis of colon classification and facet combinations. The results of this study can be summarized as follows ; (1) This study confined the fields of library science and agriculture. (2) This study represent a general principles for the automatic book classification of library science and agriculture. (3) Program flowcharts are designed as a basis of system analysis and program procedure in library science and agriculture. (4) The principles of the automatic classification in library, science is different from that of agriculture. (5) Automatic book classification can be performed by the principle of faceted classification, by inputting the title and subject code into a computer. In addition, the expected value from the automatic book-classification is as follows (1) The prompt and accurate of classification is possible. (2) Though a book is classified in any library, it can have same classification number. (3) The user can retrieve the classification code of a book for which he or she wants to search through dialogue with the computer. (4) Since the concept coordination method is employed, a tiny mass of knowledge embodied in a article in a periodical or in a chapter or a paragraph of a book can be represented as a class. (5) By performing automatic book-classification, the automation of library operation can be completed.

  • It is certain that EC(Electronic Commerce) applying the internet will be activated in the knowledge society of 21 century based on IT(Information Technology). Though this change of social environment helps the useful information resource available to expand, it looks like that the rapid inclease in lots of information to gather makes colleges, reseach laboratories and public institutions to spend more man power and money on work of book purchases than before and now. Therefore the most urgent part for the business process reengineering in work of information service center is the business of book purchases. The business of book purchases is the core part in organizations and facilities. It should construct the books which the organigation and facility need in the most economical and efficient way within the range of physically receptive capacity with the limited budget. These organigations and facilities have to establish the policy of the book stock which they should possess and also librarians should endeavour to configure the kernel book stock constantly. I assert that they need to ensure a specialty with the improvement of business process accompanying choosing and purchasing the books. Especially, in a case of purchasing foreign books by request of members like professors, students, researcher and so on they have to replace the business of book purchase using agency with direct dealing using EC. This Business Process Reengineering will cut down on expenses, offer the transparency of book purchases and also give the users confidence. Moreover the Business Process Reengineering make it possible to build well constructed main books and information resource. The people in charge are enabled to acquire the knowledge of subjects with contiuous search for books of a spcial area and self-study. These experts in work will raise the quality of information service. Information service center will be the core in the 21c knowledge industry. To streng then value of it, efficiently run it and control it the existing business of book purchasing should be replace with direct dealing using EC applying the internet.

  • In this study, in order to expand the access points of reading materials, a reading material classification (RMC) system based on the facets of book use was devised. The facets of books that can be considered by book users in the reading situation were content-analyzed. Also, through network analysis, subject headings adjacent to one subject heading were grouped into related subject headings. The RMC developed in this study can be used as a tool that provides various access points to help book users search in the library OPAC and other reading information systems.
