Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate bond strength of Metal Disk alloy and casting alloy. Methods: Metal specimens were divided into 4 groups for each alloy. Three point flexural test were used to measure the bond strength of CAD/CAM metal alloy and casting alloy. Statistical analysis was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 19.0 for Windows. As for the analysis methods, the study used Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The average bonding strengths of Group 1 to porcelain was $36.7{\pm}9.90$ MPa, Group 2 to porcelain was $37.68{\pm}4.51$ MPa, Group 3 to porcelain was $36.43{\pm}6.57$ MPa, Group 4 to porcelain was $42.88{\pm}6.81$ MPa, Each group was not significantly different. Conclusion: Bond strength of Casting alloy is equal to or higher than bond strength of CAD/CAM Metal Disk alloy. Alloy clinical bond strength is 25 MPa, So CAD/CAM Metal Disk alloy can be used as dental material.
Purpose: This study was to assess the effect of surface and heat treatment on the bond strength of veneering ceramics to zirconia. Methods: The specimens were divided into 7 groups according to surface treatment and heat treatment conditions prior to porcelain application. ten specimens from each group were subjected to a 3-point flexural test. In addition the influence of surface and heat treatment on surface roughness values and phase transformation of zirconia was evaluated. Statistical analysis was performed with one-way ANOVA and post hoc Tukey's test. Results: Bond strength ranged from $20.67{\pm}3.13MPa$ to $32.69{\pm}4.52$. Bond strength of surface treatment group was lower than that of control group but only $Al_2O_3$ sandblasting group was significant difference. Bond strength of heat treatment group was higher than that of surface treatment group but there was no statistical significance. Conclusion: Bond strength of veneering ceramics to zirconia was affected by surface and heat treatment.
Significant improvements in bond strength between new and existing concrete can be achieved through the modification of the new concrete by latex modification. But, no test method has been adopted as a standard to measure the bond strength between the concrete used to repair and the substrate being repaired. The performance of old and the new concrete construction defends upon band strength between old and the new concrete. Current adhesion strength measurement method is inaccurate method that ignore effect of stress concentration by shape of specimens. Therefore, this research calculates stress concentration coefficient using finite element analysis and direction tensile strength test (pull-off test). The result shows that the required core depth is 2.5 cm. Elastic modulus and overlay thickness do not influence in stress concentration.
A simple expression to predict bond strength of reinforcing bars with rib deformation to the surrounding is derived for the case of splitting bond failure. Finite element analysis is used to model the confining behavior of concrete cover. The roles of the interfacial properties, specifically, the friction coefficient, cohesion, the relative rib area and the rib face angle are examined. Values of bond strength obtained using the analytical model are in good agreement with the bond test results from the previous studies. The analytical model provides insight into interfacial bond mechanisms and the effects of the key variables on the bond strength of deformed bars to concrete. Based on the comparison between the analytical results and the test results, the values of cohesion, coefficient of friction, and the effective rib face angle are proposed.

Push-out tests have been conducted on 18 rectangular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns with the aim of studying the bond behaviour between the steel tube and the concrete infill. The obtained load-slip response and the distribution of the interface bond stress along the member length and around the cross-section for various load levels, as derived from measured axial strain gradients in the steel tube, are reported. Concrete compressive strength, interface length, cross-sectional dimensions and different interface conditions were varied to assess their effect on the ultimate bond stress. The test results indicate that lubricating the steel-concrete interface always had a significant adverse effect on the interface bond strength. Among the other variables considered, concrete compressive strength and cross-section size were found to have a pronounced effect on the bond strength of non-lubricated specimens for the range of cross-section geometries considered, which is not reflected in the European structural design code for composite structures, EN 1994-1-1 (2004). Finally, based on nonlinear regression of the test data generated in the present study, supplemented by additional data obtained from the literature, an empirical equation has been proposed for predicting the average ultimate bond strength for SHS and RHS filled with normal strength concrete.

PURPOSE. To compare the shear bond strength of various veneering materials to grade II commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti). MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty specimens of CP-Ti disc with 9 mm diameter and 10 mm height were divided into three experimental groups. Each group was bonded to heat-polymerized acrylic resin (Lucitone 199), porcelain (Triceram), and indirect composite (Sinfony) with 7 mm diameter and 2 mm height. For the control group (n=10), Lucitone 199 were applied on type IV gold alloy castings. All samples were thermocycled for 5000 cycles in $5-55^{\circ}C$ water. The maximum shear bond strength (MPa) was measured with a Universal Testing Machine. After the shear bond strength test, the failure mode was assessed with an optic microscope and a scanning electron microscope. Statistical analysis was carried out with a Kruskal-Wallis Test and Mann-Whitney Test. RESULTS. The mean shear bond strength and standard deviations for experimental groups were as follows: Ti-Lucitone 199 ($12.11{\pm}4.44$ MPa); Ti-Triceram ($11.09{\pm}1.66$ MPa); Ti-Sinfony ($4.32{\pm}0.64$ MPa). All of these experimental groups showed lower shear bond strength than the control group ($16.14{\pm}1.89$ MPa). However, there was no statistically significant difference between the Ti-Lucitone 199 group and the control group, and the Ti-Lucitone 199 group and the Ti-Triceram group. Most of the failure patterns in all experimental groups were adhesive failures. CONCLUSION. The shear bond strength of veneering materials such as heat-polymerized acrylic resin, porcelain, and indirect composite to CP-Ti was compatible to that of heatpolymerized acrylic resin to cast gold alloy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the shear bond strength of the metal-heat pressed glass ceramic bilayer structure. Methods: Metal framework specimens were prepared and surface is spreaded opaque(IPS InLine system opaque, IvoclarVivadent, Liechtenstein). There were 10 specimens for each bilayer dental ceramic group. The first group was porcelain fused metal, Press on metal IPS Inline press group, and press on metal HASS prototype group. Specimens measured for the shear bond strength on Schwickerath test by Instron universal testing machine(Instron3345, Instron Corp., USA). Mean average bond strength values of each specimen group were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA analysis of variance Saphiro-wilk's test. Statistical analysis were performed using IBM SPSS 23.0(IBM Co., Armonk, USA) Results: $RMS{\pm}SD$ The highest mean average HASS POM showed a bond strength value ($47.55{\pm}12.80Mpa$). The lowest mean average values Porcelain fused metal ($33.30{\pm}2.00Mpa$). Independent t-test was conduct to analysis the significant difference (p<0.05) (Table 3). Conclusion: Three kinds of Metal/ glass bilayer dental ceramics bond strength were clinical acceptability. Especially, as lithium disilicate containing represents higher bond strength.
Bearing capacity of pile foundations in cold region is dominated by adfreeze bond strength between surrounding soil and pile perimeter. Adfreeze bond strength is considered to be the most important design parameter for foundations in cold region. Many studies in last 50 years have been conducted to analyze characteristics of adfreeze bond strength. However, most studies have been performed under constant temperature and normal stress conditions in order to analyze affecting factors like soil type, pile material, loading speed, etc. In this study, both freezing temperature and normal stress acting on pile surface were considered to be primary factors affecting adfreeze bond strength, while other factors such as soil type, pile material and loading speed were predefined. Direct shear box was used to measure adfreeze bond strength between Joomoonjin sand and aluminium because it is easy to work for various roughness. Test was performed with temperatures of > $0^{\circ}C$, $-1^{\circ}C$, $-2^{\circ}C$, $-5^{\circ}C$, and $-10^{\circ}C$ and vertical confining pressures of 1atm, 2atm, and 3atm. Based on the test results, the effects of temperature and vertical stress on adfreeze bond strength were analyzed. The test results showed that adfreeze bond strength increases with decreased temperature and increased vertical stress. It was also noted that two types of distinct sections exist, owing to the rate of increase of adfreeze bond strength along the change of freezing temperature: 1)rapidly increasing section and 2)gradually decreasing section. In addition, the results showed that a main factor affecting adfreeze bond strength switches from friction angle to adhesion as freezing temperature decreases.
The purpose of this study was to investigate bond strength of denture base resin repaired according to contamination. One commercial denture base resin and two different kinds of relines resin were tested; Lusiton 199(denture base resin), Vertex(reline resin) and TokusoRebase(repair resin). The specimens were processed according to the manufacturer's instructions to cured denture base resin(polymethylmethacrylate; PMMA) and reline resin. Bond strengths were examined by use of a three-point transverse flexural strength test. Data were analyzed with two-factor analysis of variance and Duncan's post-hoc test at $\alpha$=0.05. Generally, the bondstrength of heat-cured resin(Lusiton 199) was higher than the other resins. The contaminations produced an decrease in bond strength. Therefore the contamination, such as saliva or water must be avoided during the laboratory repair procedures.
Bond strength between alloy and ceramic plays an important role in deciding the quaring the processing of metalceramic restorations. Now the author had an experiment on the measurement of bond strength differences accoding to the contents of recast alloy used during the processing of metal-ceramic restorations. In the experiment, Anusavice's Planar Interface Shear Bond Test was employed to determine the bond strength. Total 25 specimens were divided as 5 groups, that is, 5 specimens in a group respections : Group I (new alloy 100%) Group II (new 75%$\cdot$recast 25%), Group III (new 50%$\cdot$recast 50%), Group IV (new 25%$\cdot$recast 75%), Group V(recast 100%). All specimens examined micropically and respective strength values of the group specimens were checked simultaneously. The results were as follows, 1. In the analtsis of variance the result showed the significant differences of 1%(P<0.01) among the each group classifid according to the recast contents. 2. When the interfaces of specimens were examined with an electron microscope, the air bubble were evenly occurred in all the specimens, and the occurrence frequencies and the sizes of air bubble were different between Group I and Group III, especially marked different Group I and Croup V. 3. In respective verification of each group through T-test, between Group I and Group II, between Group I and Group III did not show significant differences. 4. There was significant difference between Group I and Group IV, between Group I and Group V as 1%(P<0.01). 5. In the Shear Bond Test of all the groups, Croup V showed the lowest value.
