  • In this paper, we propose a feature extraction method using the stacked autoencoders which consist of restricted Boltzmann machines. The stacked autoencoders is a sort of deep networks. Restricted Boltzmann machines (RBMs) are probabilistic graphical models that can be interpreted as stochastic neural networks. In terms of pattern classification problem, the feature extraction is a key issue. We use the stacked autoencoders networks to extract new features which have a good influence on the improvement of the classification performance. After feature extraction, fuzzy k-nearest neighbors algorithm is used for a classifier which classifies the new extracted data set. To evaluate the classification ability of the proposed pattern classifier, we make some experiments with several machine learning data sets.

  • Surface roughness is present in most of the microfluidic devices due to the microfabrication techniques. This paper presents lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) results for laminar flow in a microchannel with surface roughness. The surface roughness is modeled by an array of rectangular modules placed on top and bottom side of a parallel-plate channel. In this study, LBGK D2Q9 code in lattice Boltzmann Method is used to simulate flow field for low Reynolds number in a micro-channel. The effects of relative surface roughness, roughness distribution, roughness size and the results are presented in the form of the product of friction factor and Reynolds number. Finally, a significant increase in Poiseuille number is detected as the surface roughness is considered, while the effect of roughness on the microflow field depends on the surface roughness.

  • This study introduced a lattice Boltzmann computational scheme capable of modeling thermo hydrodynamic flows with simpler equilibrium particle distribution function compared with other models. The equilibrium particle distribution function is the local Maxwelian equilibrium function in this model, with all the constants uniquely determined. The characteristics of the proposed model is verified by calculation of the sound speeds, and the shock tube problem. In the lattice Boltzmann method, a thermal fluid or compressible fluid model simulates the reflection of a weak shock wave colliding with a sharp wedge having various angles $\theta$$\sub$w/. Theoretical results using LBM are satisfactory compared with the experimental result or the TVD.

  • Noether's theorem is applied to the one dimensional neutron transport equation. It is obtained the transformation rendering the functional of the one dimensional Boltzmann equation invariant. It is derived the law conserving the product of the directional flux and its adjoint flux. The possible types of the solution of the Boltzmann equation are discussed. The results are compared with the well-known solution.

  • This study describes a simulation of two-dimensional bubble forming and motion by the Lattice Boltzmann Method with the phase field equation. The free energy model is used to treat the interfacial force and deformation of binary fluids system, drawn into a T-junction the micro channel. A numerical simulation of a binary flow in a cross-junction channel is carried out by using the parallel computation method. The aim in this investigation is to examine the applicability of LBM to numerical analysis of binary fluid separation and motion in the micro channel.

  • In this paper we present an algorithm about how to simulate two dimensional dam breaking with lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). LBM considers a typical volume element of fluid to be composed of a collection of particles that represented by a particle velocity distribution function for each fluid component at each grid point. We use the modified Lattice Boltzmann Method for incompressible fluid. This paper will represent detailed information on single phase flow which considers only the water instead of both air and water. Interface treatment and conservation of mass are the most important things in simulating free surface where the Interface is treated by mass exchange with the water region. We consider the surface tension on the interface and also bounce back boundary condition for the treatment of solid obstacles. We will compare the results of the simulation with some methods and experimental results.

  • The electron transport coefficients, the electron drift velocity W, the longitudinal diffusion coefficient $ND_L$ and $D_L/{\mu}$, in pure $CO_2$ were calculated over the wide E/N range from 0.01 to 500 Td at 1 Torr by two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation for determination of electron collision cross sections set and for quantitative characteristic analysis of $CO_2$ molecular gas. And for propriety of two-term approximation of Boltzmann equation analysis, the calculated results compared with the electron transport coefficients measured by Nakamura.
