The Eolrukmal and Hukpyobeom varieties were bred for special purpose such as experience and education. The Eolrukmal variety was selected and succeeded from the $F_1$ of Huka$\times$Galwon in 2004 summer. It has stripes and brown half-moon body marks. The Hukpyobeom variety was selected and succeeded from the $F_1$ of Remone$\times$Hukho in 2004 summer. It has black body color and bright yellow segments. They are healthy yellow cocoon spining varieties showing over 93% of high practical hatching ratio and 93.1% of emergence ratio. The Eolrukmal moth laid 450 egg/batch and the Hukpyobeom moth laid 440 egg/batch.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the strategies for avoiding moving and stationary walker using body segments during walking. Method: Ten healthy young adults (10 males, age: $24.40{\pm}0.49yrs$, height: $175.80{\pm}5.22cm$, body mass: $70.30{\pm}5.22kg$) participated in this study. Each participant was asked to perform a task to avoid collisions with another walker who was moving or stationary during walking on the 10 m walkway. Both walkers were performed at natural self-selected walking speed. Results: Medio-lateral avoidance displacement of the trunk and the pelvis were significantly increased when avoiding a stationary walker (p<.05). There were no significant differences in medio-lateral center of mass trajectory. Rotation angle of trunk, pelvis and foot on the vertical axis were significantly increased when avoiding a stationary walker (p<.05). Conclusion: Based on our results, when another walker moves continuously, the walker recognizes another walker as the object of social interaction and performs the avoidance strategies while expecting the cooperative distance. On the other hand, when another walker is stopped, it is determined that the walker has an obligation to avoid, and the walker performs a relatively safer avoidance strategy.
단층분절의 길이는 그룹 E ($N80{\sim}90^{\circ}E{\cdot}N70{\sim}80^{\circ}E{\cdot}N80{\sim}90^{\circ}W{\cdot}N50{\sim}60^{\circ}W{\cdot}N30{\sim}40^{\circ}W{\cdot}N40{\sim}50^{\circ}W$) < D ($N70{\sim}80^{\circ}W{\cdot}N60{\sim}70^{\circ}W{\cdot}N60{\sim}70^{\circ}E{\cdot}N50{\sim}60^{\circ}E{\cdot}N40{\sim}50^{\circ}E{\cdot}N0{\sim}10^{\circ}W$) < C ($N20{\sim}30^{\circ}W{\cdot}N10{\sim}20^{\circ}W$) < B ($N0{\sim}10^{\circ}E{\cdot}N30{\sim}40^{\circ}E$) < A ($N20{\sim}30^{\circ}E{\cdot}N10{\sim}20^{\circ}E$)의 순으로 증가한다. 특히 그래프의 형태는 균등 분포에서 지수 분포로 점차 변화한다. 마지막으로, 단층분절의 길이에 대한 여섯 개 변수의 값을 5개 그룹으로 구분하였다. 여섯 개 변수 중, 평균 길이 및 가장 긴 단층분절의 길이는 그룹 III ($N10^{\circ}W{\sim}N20^{\circ}E$) > IV ($N20{\sim}60^{\circ}E$) > II ($N10{\sim}60^{\circ}W$) > I ($N60{\sim}90^{\circ}W$) > V ($N60{\sim}90^{\circ}E$)의 순으로 감소한다.
The aim of this study is to show the effect of starting block angle on the starting motion of sprinters using a crouching start. After installing starting blocks on forced platform, and having four highly comparative sprinters use the starting blocks, I analyzed the angular momentum of a crouching start. From the results of the analysis, the following conclusions could be drawn: There were differences of angular momentum both in body's X, Y, and Z axes and in the thighs' X axes, but not in the pelvis and lower legs. As to the general change of block angle, we noticed that an angular momentum for each segments was higher at an angle of 50 to 55 degrees.
Angiomatosis [ or Diffuse Hemangima] is a rare condition in which large segments of the body are involved by proliferating vessels. By now, some authers say that this lesion begins during early intrauterine life when the limb buds form, grow proportionately with the fetus, and consequently affect large areas of the trunk or extremity. The majority of angiomatoses present during childhood or infancy as swelling, induration, or discoloration of the affected area. The patient was 13 year old male and had no specific signs and symptoms except palpable mass on the left lateral chest wall from childhood and a painful tender mass on the posterior chest wall for 5 days before admission. The chest PA showed no abnormalities. The operation was done with the resection of left 10th rib and 9th and 10th intercostal muscles including masses and the ligation of the both intercostal and feeding vessels of the masses. The pathologic result was angiomatosis involving intercostal muscles and rib.
Two new records of scolecid polychaetes, Praxillella pacifica Berkeley, 1929 and Naineris dendritica (Kinberg, 1867), collected from Korean waters are reported here with descriptions and illustrations. Praxillella pacifica can be distinguished from its congeners by the number of asetigerous segments on the posterior region of the body and features of the anal cone and neuropodial spines on setigers 2 and 3. Naineris dendritica is distinguishable from its relatives by the morphology of thoracic neuropodial lobes and the thoracic uncini at the inferior position. In the present paper, keys to Praxillella and Naineris species from Korean waters were also provided.
A new technique is proposed for bridge structural damage detection based on spatial wavelet analysis of the time history obtained from vehicle body moving over the bridge, which is different from traditional detection techniques based on the bridge response. A simply-supported Bernoulli-Euler beam subjected to a moving spring-mass unit is established, with the crack in the beam simulated by modeling the cracked section as a rotational spring connecting two undamaged beam segments, and the equations of motion for the system is derived. By using the transfer matrix method, the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the cracked beam are determined. The responses of the beam and the moving spring-mass unit are obtained by modal decomposition theory. The continuous wavelet transform is calculated on the displacement time histories of the sprung-mass. The case study result shows that the damage location can be accurately determined and the method is effective.
We present a novel method to model the body posture of a worm for vision-based automatic monitoring and analysis. The worm considered in this study is a Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), which is popularly used for research in biological science and engineering. We model the posture by an open chain of a few curved or rigid line segments, in contrast to previously published approaches wherein a large number of small rigid elements are connected for the modeling. Each link segment is represented by only two parameters: an arc angle and an arc length for a curved segment, or an orientation angle and a link length for a straight line segment. Links in the proposed method can be readily related using the Denavit-Hartenberg convention due to similarities to the kinematics of an articulated manipulator. Our method was tested with real worm images, and accurate results were obtained.
This study was performed to investigate a relationship between a biomechanical analysis of compressive force at L5/S1 and electromyographic analysis of erector spinae muscle during lifting task. In the experiment, isometric contractions at 25, 50, 75, 100%MVC for short duration and sustained isometric contractions at 50%MVC were performed. For muscle recruitment patten and compressive force analysis, rectified EMG amplitudes analysis and computerized biomechanical analysis were used. To achieve data, angles of neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and length of body segments were measured. Results shows that trends of initial EMG rectified amplitude were similar to those of biomechanical calculation value and for sustained isometric contraction at 50%MVC EMG rectified amplitude of erector spinae muscle after 40seconds was increased up to level of 75%MVC. Based on the results of this study, biomechanical analysis should be supplemented considering muscle fatigue, and it is also suggested that work-rest cycle critera and the evaluation of back-pain injuries should include muscle fatigue.
A FE model is to develop a personalized biomechanical model of the scoliotic spine that will allow the design of clinical test providing optimal estimation of the post-operation results. A flexible multi-body model of the spine including rib cage, clavicle, and scapular was developed to simulate several mobility simulations. Vertebrae, clavicle and scapular were represented using rigid bodies and ribs and sternum were modeled as flexible bodies. Kinematical Joints and spring elements were used to represent the intervertebral disc and ligaments respectively. Postero-anterior and lateral radiographics of a scoliotic spine were used to represent a 3D reconstruction. CT data for same patient were also used to verify vertebrae rotation driven from postero-anterior and lateral radiographic images. Simulated results showed good reducibility almost uniformly distributed along the spinal segments. It was also found that boundary and loading conditions, required to mimic the operation procedures, were proven to be very sensitive parameters to its results rather than its mechanical properties
