The purpose of this study is to evaluate what baseline characteristic is most related with body image satisfaction and identify which items are the lowest score on body image and their related behaviors in female emergency medical technicians(EMTs). Female EMTs(n=96) working in the G provence completed a battery of questionnaires. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that body image satisfaction was significantly associated with physical activity(p=.007, 95%CI: 2.937~19.180) in female EMTs. Subjects were most satisfied with their sex(male or female)(M=3.34, SD=0.72) and they were most dissatisfied with sleep(M=2.61, SD=0.85). The skin protective behavior showed significant difference according to skin concerns(p<.05).
The purpose of this study is to analyze the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket focused on the variation of the length according to the body type and the degree of satisfaction with the body of middle-aged women. For this study, twenty seven different types of tailored jacket were designed with some variation of their silhouette, the length and the collar's figure on three hundred and twenty three middle-aged women ranging from 35 to 50 years old. There was a significant difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type of middle-aged women. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the long length were more attractive, graceful, and active, soft and preferred the style, and the women of the body type II and III, them of the middle length. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the short length were more attractive, graceful, active, soft and preferred the style. Also there was a meaningful difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the degree of satisfaction with their bodies. As satisfied with their face size, they thought tailored jackets of the long length were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with the girth of the hip, they evaluated the short/long tailored jackets were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with their height they valued the long tailored jacket was more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style.
This study compares the perceived body image of female college students in Korea and Japan as well as explains the difference in the level of self-esteem, body cathexis, body image and fashion leadership based on nationality and body. The sense of fashion leadership affected by these factors was also analyzed. A high ratio of Korean and Japanese female students perceived themselves as obese compared to actual body physique. It was shown that body was highly distorted. They showed a comparatively low level of satisfaction with appearance in contrast to their high interest in their appearance and weight. Thin bodied individuals showed a high level of self-esteem and body cathexis; however, persons with an obese body showed a low level of body cathexis. They showed high interest in appearance regardless of body physique; however, they remain unsatisfied with their appearance. Individuals with an obese body and a standard somatotype showed a high concern with weight. A high fashion opinion leadership was reciprocal to a high interest in appearance and satisfaction with appearance. Korean female students showed an indirect positive effect on fashion opinion leadership through body cathexis, self-esteem, interest in appearance, and satisfaction with appearance. A thin body showed a positive effect on fashion opinion leadership and an obese body had a negative effect. Fashion innovativeness was directly influenced persons with a high degree of self-esteem and interest in appearance. Japanese female students were directly affected by fashion innovativeness; however, Korean female students were indirectly affected by fashion innovativeness through self-esteem and interest in appearance.
The purpose of the study is to figure out the difference in preference of clothes between Korean and Chinese female college students, who share similar ethnic traits despite having different sociocultural backgrounds and environment, and see the differences in their body image and body satisfaction. The questionnaire-based survey for the study was conducted for about a month and a total of 449 copies of the questionnaire were collected for the final research. For the research method, we examined the differences in clothes preference and fit between Korean and Chinese students, and then the corresponding differences in body image and body satisfaction. The result showed significant differences in the categories of skirt length, pants length, upper garment fit, and lower garment fit. Korean students preferred slim fit clothes, while their counterparts preferred natural fits. A comparison of body image between Korean and Chinese female students showed that the Korean students had lower body satisfaction levels, and viewed themselves as fat even though they were slimmer than their counterparts. The conclusion of the analysis was that compared to Korean students the Chinese students pursued a more comfortable and casual style, preferring unique and diverse designs instead of simply following a fashion trend.

Purpose: When performing nuclear medicine examinations, body wraps or plastic supports are used to support and immobilize the patient's upper extremities to prevent patient safety accidents. However, the existing plastic supports compromised patient and staff safety, including finger entrapment and falls. Moreover, the body wrap provided by manufacturers compromised image quality such as upper extremities cutoff during whole body bone scan. Therefore, a new design of body wrap was developed to improve the issue, and this study aims to evaluate the usability of this medical body wrap. Materials and Methods: To evaluate the usability of the newly designed medical body wrap, a quality assessment of whole body bone scan images and a user satisfaction survey were conducted. Adult patients (male:female=129:152, age: 60.3±12.4 years, BMI: 24.0±4.2) aged 16 years or older who underwent a whole body bone scan during two periods: June to July 2022 (before improvement, n=139) and June to July 2023 (after improvement, n=142) were randomly selected for image quality evaluation. Five radiotechnologists visually evaluated the posterior view of the whole body bone image, including the left and right elbow (2 points), arm (2 points), whether the hand is extended (2 points), whether the hand is included (2 points), and the number of visible fingers (10 points), with a total of 18 points, which were converted to 100 points and analyzed for difference before and after improvement using an independent sample t-test. The user satisfaction questionnaire was evaluated using a 5-point Likert scale among 16 radiotechnologists from three general hospitals who experienced the new body wrap. Results: The image quality assessment was 82.0±13.8 before the improvement and 89.3±10.1 after the improvement, an average of 7.3 points higher, with a statistically significant difference (t=5.02, p<0.01). The user satisfaction survey showed an overall satisfaction rating of 4.1±0.8 for ease of use, 3.8±0.7 for scan preparation time, 3.9±0.7 for patient safety, 3.8±1.2 for scan accuracy, and 4.2±0.7 for recommendation (87.5% questionnaire response rate). Conclusion: The developed body wrap showed higher image quality and user satisfaction compared to the old method. Considering these results, it is deemed that the new body wrap may be more useful than existing methods.

This study was conducted to examine the correlations between life stress, body image, happiness, and health promoting behaviors, and to identify the influencing factors on health promoting behaviors of nursing students. Data were collected from 277 nursing students from April 16 to May 4, 2018. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Life stress, body image, happiness, and health promoting behaviors according to the general characteristics commonly showed significant differences in major satisfaction and school satisfaction. Health promoting behaviors showed positive correlations with body image and happiness, but a negative correlation with life stress. Happiness, body image, life stress, gender, and major satisfaction, which accounted for 46% of the variance, were significant predictors influencing health promoting behaviors in nursing students. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a variety of programs to lower life stress and increase body image and happiness in order to improve health promoting behaviors of nursing students.

Selfie practices on social media can result in negative body image for men. The current study investigated the dual body image pathway model for the relationship between selfie practices on social media and body satisfaction, with internalization as a mediator. Structural equation modeling analyses supported our research model when studying 446 young Korean male Instagram users. The results indicated that selfie editing behavior, but not selfie browsing behavior, significantly predicted an increased internalization of a body ideal. The positive associations between internalization, muscularity dissatisfaction, and body fat dissatisfaction were confirmed. Additionally, the indirect effects of selfie editing behavior on muscularity and body fat dissatisfaction due to internalization were significant. The study confirmed the detrimental effects of selfie behavior on body satisfaction for male social media users. The results provided valuable information that selfie editing may be a risky behavior since it can result in developing muscularity and body fat dissatisfaction. Theoretical contributions and practical implications were discussed. Future research should address the age and cultural differences that may elucidate the impacts of selfie practices on men's body image concerns.
Body positivity has emerged among young social media users with the purpose of enhancing a positive body image. In the social media environment, body positivity is frequently presented in the forms of female models' images and/or words that represent individual attitudes toward the female body. The media effects on female viewers' body image differs based on the viewers' perceptions of their own body size. This experimental study examined how body positivity and types of expression on social media influence women's mood and appearance satisfaction by subjective body size. We randomly assigned to 415 young and middle-aged females to one of six experimental conditions which contained three images and three vignettes, each reflecting non-body positivity, body positivity, and control. We used a 3 (body positivity: non-body positivity vs body positivity vs. control) × 2 (types of body positivity expression on media: images vs vignettes) × 2 (subjective body size: under/normal weight vs overweight/obese) between-subject design. The results of MANCOVA revealed the significant main effects of subjective body size on women's mood and appearance satisfaction. There was a significant interaction effect of body positivity and subjective body size on appearance satisfaction. The stimuli representing body positivity caused positive psychological effects for women who perceive themselves being in the under/normal weight range.

As satisfied with their face size, they thought breast/portrait lapel collar were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred that style. As satisfied with weight they regarded portrait lapel collar as more attrative, graceful and active, soft and they preferred that style. In this study we found that the middle-aged women evaluated the tailored jacket which was looking esthetic and fitting their body types, as the most attrative, elegant, active, and tender clothing and they prefered that kind of tailored jacket.
The Purpose of. this study was to investigate the relationship between sociocultural attitude toward appearance and appearance-management behavior. The method of the study was survey research by using questionnaires. Subjects were 323 females in their twenties. Statistical analysis methods were frequency, percentage, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, X²-test, and Duncan's multiple range test. The results of the study were as follows. As for appearance-management behaviors of females in their twenties, they experienced in diet, plastic surgery, skin care, make up, and hair dyeing. There were significant differences in body satisfaction between groups according to body image distortion. Respondents were barely satisfied with their body, and the group with high body image distortion showed low body satisfaction. Sociocultural attitude toward appearance factors was analyzed into 2 factors, iternalization of mass-media and social recognition toward appearance, which respondents considered importantly. A significant difference was found in sociocultural attitude toward appearance and appearance management behavior. The group with positive sociocultural attitude toward appearance was analyzed to show high appearance concern and many experiences of appearance management behaviors.
