The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of fitness and comfortableness of jackets for sportsmen in their early 20s according to the types of sports to provide basic data for designing suitable garments for them. Research method, 362 college sportsmen in their early 20s were surveyed from June 2nd 2009 to June 9th 2009, and 360 of them were processed statistically, with 2 of them having been discarded for lack of sincerity. Among Taekwondo players, Arm Length was the most complained part, among wrestlers, Biacromion Length was the most complained part, among fencers, 'Waist Circumference' was the most complained part, among swimmers, Biacromion Length was the most complained part, among apparatus gymnast, 'Hip Circumference' was the most complained part, among track athletes and handball players, more than 20% answered that the jackets did not fit them in every parts. It was understood that different sportsmen complained of particular parts of the jackets and that parts of the jacket should be adjusted according to bodily shapes of different sportsmen. • The purpose of this study is to find fitness of brassiere by means of body measuring value, its variation volume, the evaluation of perceptive image, and the evaluation of the sense of wearing. The results were as follows; 1) According to comparison for body measuring value before and after wearing brassiere, bust point (B.P.) height, lower bust height, upper chest circumference, chest circumference, and bust depth are increased, and lower chest circumference, bust point breadth, shoulder middle point - B.P., B.P. -under bust, and cup horizontal girth are decreased. 2) The difference of variation volume by material is not accepted. The part above $20\%$ at variation rate is under the region of the armpit, that is, the region connected arm from the back. 3) The subjects replied that they wore the brassiere in order to compensate the breast and needed to wear it regardless of thiness and obesity. They wore the brassiere in order to dress themselves in good shape, and felt that it put pressure upon the body, while it had nothing to do with adjusting bodily temperature and gave the sense of security. 4) The estimate of the sense of wearing by material is recognized as the difference of the attention at attentive level $1\%$. The multiple factor analysis of each item in the sense of wearing showed that the items which are explained over $90\%$ by common factors are '1. Unpreasant in touch', '2. The part of edge is haggard', '15. Not to be fit'.

  • Protective clothing for riot policewomen is worn by policewomen to protect their body at suppressing a riot. Plastic guards of Nylon 66 material are attached to the base of E.V.A. Foam material. Protective clothing for riot policewomen consists of a jacket, guards for arms and legs, upper arm braces, and thigh pads. This study was aimed to develop the base pattern of the jacket to protect the torso and to improve the body suitability and the adaptability to movements of protective clothing for riot policewomen. Since current protective clothing worn by riot policewomen is manufactured with the same design of protective clothing for riot policemen, the body suitability and the adaptability to movements are not very satisfactory for policewomen who has different body structure than from riot policemen. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to reflect the body size and characteristics of riot policewomen and develop the base pattern of protective clothing with better body suitability and adaptability to movements. In this respect, amount and place of dots on the jacket were differently designed, made and evaluated by fitting test. The base with the best evaluation was selected as the final experiment clothing to demonstrate its superiority compared with the existing protective clothing.

Second, the centering on pants were evaluated to be the most uncomfortable item among maternity wear and confirms the necessity for a maternity wear design whose bodily fitness is high according to the trouser panel. Third, a standard for the specific design was established to solve maternity wear problems based on the analyzed information. This was established by having a concept as a minimal motive in 'new naturalism' that is the aesthetics of slackness for the $21^{st}$ century. Major results of this research are as follows: First, since light exercise equipment mostly for bodily exercises has been installed, it has brought practical effects for the physically weak people, aged people and the people who scarcely exercise, while decreasing the users' economic burdens. Second, the scales of important factors the users think in selecting their exercise spots were 'spaciousness (2,028 times)' > 'accessibility (1,751 times)' > 'fitness (1,583' > 'supportability (1,445)' > 'community centeredness (1,260).' Third, the ratios of important factors regarding the choice of environment of outdoor exercise were 'near to walk (16.1%)' > 'nice natural environment (12.3%)' > 'always free to exercise (9.7%)' > 'shortage of exercise equipment (7.4%)' > 'possible to accompany family/neighbors (6.7%)' > 'no economic burden (6.5%).

We carried out an analysis of covariance with SAS 9.2 statistics package. These are the results from it. First, the experiment group showed statistically significant increase(p<.001) in lifting dumbbells, repeatedly standing up and sitting down, 2.24m shuttle running, walking at the same place for 2 minutes. Second, there was no particular effect with the experiment group in flexibility(catching hands with their backs leaned against each other). This result point out that there is a need of supplementation like adding exercise item which can improve flexibility to home support exercise program. Third, there was no particular difference between the experiment group and the control group in 8 sub-factors with the subjective evaluation about health-related quality of life through SF-36. However, there the bodily pain and vitality sub-factors of experiment group was better than that of the control group with p<.10 level, so we considered this result showed us the positive effect slightly.
