Methods: By measuring and comparing the average transmittances of blue light, visible light and infrared ight by using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer analysis measuring instrument, I compared 3 GREEN Color Goggles worn when casting Dental precious metal and non-precious metal alloys, and compared each of YELLOW, ORANGE Color Goggles worn when using Dental CAD/CAM scanners and Light Curing(LED) the Dental resin. Results: In blue light range, YELLOW Color Goggles are more effective than ORANGE Color Goggles. In infrared light range, No.12 Goggles are more effective than No.10 and No.11 Goggles. Conclusion: When wearing blue light shading goggles to avoid harmful blue light occurred in using dental scanner and curing light, and when wearing infrared light shading goggles to avoid harmful infrared light during casting, to avoid the Side Effects like transmittance rate of blue light and infrared light goggles becomes too high to block appropriate amount of harmful light or too low that causing lower image clarity.
This study was conducted to determine the phototactic response of Paratlanticus ussuriensis to different wavelength of light by the use of LEDs and to provide a basic information for developing an improved trap with the longer trapping efficiency to control environment-friendly this katydid. P. ussuriensis were attracted to the single LED light source, especially, blue and white. For the multiple LED light sources, the movement of P. ussuriensis was not significantly different among LED-light bands. Overall, P. ussuriensis had a tendency to move to light source although they were not attracted to a specific wavelength of light. These methods may be used as information for conducting a phototactic response of other insects.
The flow and thermal performance of the skiving and louver fin type heat sinks for the cooling system of the small LED projector were experimentally evaluated. A small fan tester based on AMCA standards was used to control and measure the air flow rate into the heat sink. Three heat blocks were used to simulate the heat and light sources(red, green and blue) of the small LED projector. We measured the pressure drop, temperatures and input power at the specific air flow rate and discussed those results. As a result, it is found that the louver fin type heat sink has higher pressure drop and lower thermal resistance than the skiving type. From the comparison of the temperature of the heat block between skiving and louver fin type, the louver fin type heat sink was found to be more suitable for cooling the high power heat source than skiving type. The thermal performance of the fan-sink(louver fin type) system was discussed with the picture taken by a thermal video.

Red phosphors, $Sr_2Si_5N_8:Eu^{2+}$, were synthesized as a single-phase crystal structure by optimizing carbon and $Eu^{2+}$ contents in a carbothermal reduction nitridation method. With increasing $Eu^{2+}$ contents, the photoluminescence spectra were red-shifted from 600 nm peak for 1 mol% for to 700 nm for 7 mol%. It was suggested that this red shift is attributed to the energy transfer from one low-energy sited $Eu^{2+}$ (1) to other high-energy sited $Eu^{2+}$ (2). Finally, the best red sample (620 nm emission peak and 80 nm half width for 3 mole% of $Eu^{2+}$) was packaged on a Blue LED together with two additional green and yellow phosphors, the fabricated White LED showed a high color-rendering index of 90 and white color coordinates of x= 0.321 and y = 0.305.

In this paper, we installed three high brightness red, green, and blue LED in one socket and made one pixel unit. And we also developed the full-color display board module and control unit which can express various images such as text, graphics, video image with the combination of pixel units and a number of modules. LED display driver module have a driver circuit within the combination of the RGB pixel dot on unit area. These modules of the existing form can be high priced because of implementation a fixed resolution in specific space and installation space. To overcome these shortcomings, we developed a LED driver and LED pixel modules free in array at random pitch intervals. Display board module of this paper enabled to display smoothly video image which have many data processing quantity through dragging data speed up 36 frames per second. Also there are an effect which is provided more clear image because of improving the flickering of the existing display board.

This paper presents an LED lighting system with an LED color control algorithm that can independently change its color temperature and illuminance. To show the validity of the proposed algorithm, it is proven that its solution always exists. The proposed algorithm was applied to the control of an LED module that is composed of red, green, blue, and white (RGBW) LEDs. Its color temperature variation ranged from 3,500~7,500[$^{\circ}K$], and its illuminance ranges from 500~1,500[lux]. Within these range, the color temperature and illuminance deviations are as low as $\pm0.8$[%] when the junction temperature of LEDs are maintained at 40[$^{\circ}C$]. In the range of 30~70[$^{\circ}C$], the measured illuminance and color temperature deviations are as low as 2.1[%] and 3.6[%], and the compensated ones are as low as 1[%] and 0.49[%], when the desired illuminance and color temperature are 1,000[lux] and 6,500[$^{\circ}K$], respectively.nyang.ac.kr).
In this study, we synthesized two $Y_3Al_5O_{12}:Ce^{3+}$ phosphors ($7{\mu}m$-sized and $2{\mu}m$-sized YAG) with different sizes by controlling particles sizes of starting materials of the phosphors for white LED. In the smaller one ($2{\mu}m$-sized YAG), its photoluminescence intensity in the reflective mode was 63 % that of the bigger one ($7{\mu}m$-sized YAG); the quantum efficiencies were 93 % and 70 % for the smaller and the bigger ones. Two kinds of white LED packages with the same color coordinates were fabricated with a blue package (chip size $53{\times}30$) and two phosphors. The luminous flux of the white LED package with the smaller YAG phosphor was 92 % of that with the bigger one, indicating that the quantum efficiency of phosphor dispersed inside LED package was higher than that of the pure powder. It was consistently confirmed by the optical simulation (LightTools 6.3). It is notable according to the optical simulation that the white LED with the smaller phosphor showed 24 % higher luminous efficiency. If the smaller one had the same quantum efficiency as the bigger one (~93 %). Therefore, it can be suggested that the higher luminous efficiency of white LED can be possible by reducing the particle size of the phosphor along with maintaining its similar quantum efficiency.

To establish a culture system with enhanced cellular nutrition, we investigated the effects of light quality (blue, 450 nm; yellow, 590 nm; and red, 630 nm) of a light-emitting diode (LED) on the biochemical composition of Tetraselmis suecica and T. tetrathele. The protein content of both species was higher (42-69%) than the content of other biochemical substances under all wavelengths. Carbohydrate, protein, and lipid contents were higher under the yellow wavelength, which showed a low growth rate, than those under other wavelengths. The contents of all biochemical substances were low under the red wavelength, which showed a high growth rate. These results indicated that protein synthesis occurs in response to decreased cell division rate, while lipid and carbohydrate synthesis occurs owing to altered chemical composition and enzymatic activity. Therefore, we suggested a two-phase LED culture system, which emitted red LED during the early-middle exponential phase and yellow LED during the late exponential and stationary phases, to increase the yield of useful biochemical substances of T. suecica and T. tetrathele.

In the agricultural industries, LEDs are used as supplementary, as well as main lighting sources in closed cultivation systems. In cultivation using artificial light sources, various light qualities have been tried to supplement fluorescent lamps to promote plant growth and metabolism. Microarray analysis of Brassica rapa seedlings under blue and fluorescent mixed with blue light conditions identified changes in three genes of the glucosinolate pathway. This attracted attention as functional materials highly expressed 3.6-4.6 fold under latter condition. We selected four more genes of the glucosinolate pathway from the Brassica database and tested their expression changes under fluorescent light mixed with red, green, and blue, respectively. Some genes increased expression under red and blue mixed conditions. The Bra026058, Bra015379, and Bra021429; the orthologous genes of CYP79F1, ST5a, and FMOGS-OX1 in Arabidopsis, are highly expressed in Brassica rapa under fluorescent mixed with blue light conditions. Further, Bra029355, Bra034180, Bra024634, and Bra022448; the orthologous genes of MAM1, AOP3, UGT74B1, and BCAT4 in Arabidopsis, are highly expressed in Brassica rapa under fluorescent mixed with red light conditions. The various light conditions had unique effects on the varieties of Brassica, resulting in differences in glucosinolate synthesis. However, in some varieties, glucosinolate synthesis increased under mixed blue light conditions. These results will help to construct artificial light facilities, which increase functional crops production.
The growth and contents of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce(Lactuca sativa L., 'Jeokchima') as affected by supplemental UV-A LED irradiation under different light quality and photoperiod conditions were analyzed in this study. Five light qualities, namely B (blue LED), R (red LED), BUV (blue LED+UV-A LED), RUV (red LED+UV-A LED) and Control (white fluorescent lamps) with photoperiods of 12/12 hours (day/night), 16/8 hours, or 20/4 hours were provided to investigate the effects of light quality and photoperiod on the growth and accumulation of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce leaves. As measured 28 days after transplanting, the number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, shoot fresh weight and dry weight of lettuce were significantly affected by light quality and photoperiod. The number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, shoot fresh weight and dry weight of lettuce grown under R treatment increased with increasing light period. By contrast, leaf development was inhibited, but chlorophyll content increased, under B treatment. Supplemental UV-A irradiation significantly decreased leaf length, leaf width, leaf area and shoot fresh weight. Anthocyanins in lettuce increased significantly with decreasing dark period under B treatment. A synergistic effect of supplemental UV-A LED irradiation on anthocyanins accumulation was found for lettuce leaves grown under R treatment but not B treatment. Ascorbic acid in lettuce was greatly affected by photoperiod. Ascorbic acid content at BUV and RUV treatments increased by 20-30% compared to without UV-A LED irradiation. From these results, it was concluded that growth and contents of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce are significantly affected by supplemental UV-A LED irradiation. The results obtained in this study will be informative for efforts to improve the nutritional value of leafy vegetables grown in plant factories.
