Dynamic response of a linear two d.o.f system visco-elastically coupled with a rigid block

  • The present work investigates the use of a rigid rocking block as a tool to reduce vibrations in a frame structure. The study is based on a simplified model composed by a 2-DOF linear system, meant to represent a general M-DOF frame structure, coupled with a rocking rigid block through a linear visco-elastic device, which connects only the lower part of the 2-DOF system. The possibility to restrain the block directly to the ground, by means of a second visco-elastic device, is investigated as well. The dynamic response of the model under an harmonic base excitation is then analysed in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the coupling in reducing the displacements and the drift of the 2-DOF system. The nonlinear equations of motion of the coupled assemblage 2-DOF-block are obtained by a Lagrangian approach and then numerically integrated considering some reference mechanical and geometrical quantities as variable parameters. It follows an extensive parametric analysis, whose results are summarized through behaviour maps, which portray the ratio between the maximum displacements and drifts of the system, with and without the coupling with the rigid block, for several combinations of system's parameters. When the ratio of the displacements is less than unity, the coupling is considered effective. Results show that the presence of the rocking rigid block improves the dynamics of the system in large ranges of the characterizing parameters.

지하철 운전시격 단축을 위한 이동폐색 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of the Flexible Moving Blocks System to Shorten Headway of Subway Trains)

  • This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

  • 지속적으로 확산되어져 가고 있는 블록체인 시스템과 블록체인 기반의 서비스 시스템의 구조를 분석하였다. 거래 쌍방 간의 신뢰 확보를 위한 제 3 자를 필요로 하지 않는, 분산화된 장부 암호화 시스템 소프트웨어 기술이다. 블록체인은 자료 구조적으로는 링크드 리스트 구조로 되어 있다. 블록체인은 거래 정보를 블록화 하여 다른 블록들과 연결해서 거래 정보를 관리한다. 해시 함수를 사용하여 블록화와 연결을 하게 된다. 결과적으로, 현재의 블록체인 시스템과 블록체인 기반의 서비스 시스템의 구조적 취약성을 발견하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 블록체인 시스템과 블록체인 기반의 서비스 시스템의 구조적인 문제점 등이 해결되어지게 되면, 다양한 산업적 기여가 예상된다.

  • Block system has been used to protect trains from occupying the same section of track at the same time so that only one train is permitted in each block at a time. Domestic driving regulations on the block system is divided into two classifications, such as regular block and substitute block. If it is impossible to use this regulation, the block applied method can be applied. However, domestic urban railway administrator has established his own operation rule within the regulation. Therefore, in order to assure continuous safety of train in operation, it is necessary to strengthen the regulation as can cope with the various block systems. In this study, domestic urban railway administration's own rules are examined and the appropriate driving regulation on the block system is proposed.

  • A signal system is critical point of transport capacity and train operation in urban rail transit. Today the moving block system by radio is taking place of the fixed block system by track circuit for efficiency and short headway in underground railway and right rail transit. In this study, assuming specification of a train, track and control system, the minimum headway on the moving block system and the fixed block system is researched for the maximum transport capacity.

통합형 전자폐색제어장치의 적합성 확인을 위한 현장시험 (A Field test of an Integrated Electronic Block System for verification of the suitability)

  • 열차를 안전하면서도 신속하게 운행하기 위해서는 항상 선행열차와 후속열차가 일정한 간격을 유지하면서 운행하여야 한다. 이를 위해 일정한 간격의 폐색구간을 설정하고, 열차의 안전운전을 위해 단일 폐색구간에는 1대의 열차만이 운행될 수 있도록 제어하는 폐색시스템이 필수적으로 요구된다. 기존의 폐색시스템은 신호기에 신호를 현시하는 계전기 방식의 자동폐색장치(ABS: Automatic Block System)로 구성되며, 이것은 연동장치를 통해 궤도회로 등선로변 장치들과 연동된다. 연동장치의 경우 국산 전자연동장치로 교체되고 있지만, 폐색장치는 여전히 아날로그 방식의 계전기 형태를 사용하고 있으며, 다른 선로변 장치들과 독립적으로 설치된다. 따라서 기존의 폐색장치는 건설과 유지보수 측면에서 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 또한 현재 국내 기존선에 사용되고 있는 ABS와 선로변 전자장치(LEU: Lineside Electronic Unit)는 동일한 장소에서 동일한 신호 정보에 의해 열차를 제어하고 있음에도 불구하고 별개 시스템으로 분리되어 설치되기 때문에, 각 제품의 단가 및 유지보수 비용 측면에서 효율적이지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 폐색장치인 ABS에 통신 및 디지털 전자 기술을 접목시킨 통합형 전자폐색제어장치(integrated electronic block system)와 그것의 현장시험 결과를 소개한다. 현장시험은 1월초부터 8월말까지 8개월간 총 8번의 주기점검을 통해 시행하였으며, 이를 통해 개발된 전자폐색장치의 유효성과 적합성을 확인하였다.

  • Accurate and reliable tracking of train is essential for the train control system. The fixed block system which utilizes track circuit has been used widely for the detection of train position. As an alternative, the moving block system has the advantage over the fixed block system since it enables shorter headway and easier maintenance. This paper presents a new technique for the train tracking system which uses radio signal for the train position detection. The proposed algorithm uses the phase difference of arrival of radio signal for the detection of train position. Experimental verification of the algorithm is presented in the paper.

  • In part I, we studied only step speed control for train, the second part extended to beacon signaling system and moving block system. With the calculated braking distance in part I, part II showed how to reduce headway using the beacon signaling system and moving block system, revealed that the beacon system has a braking distance advantage for sighting allowance with compared to step speed control, proposed beacon installation interval and revealed the braking distance with moving block system being nearly approached to train pure braking distance. We compared three different train control system to decide the best signaling system for a given condition and obtained the result that three systems have a same headway near 10~13 steps speed control.

  • This paper presents a new method for finding the Block Pulse series coefficients, deriving the Block Pulse integration operational matrices and generalizing the integration operational matrices which are necessary for the control fields using the Block Pulse functions. In order to apply the Block Pulse function technique to the problems of state estimation or parameter identification more efficiently, it is necessary to find the more exact value of the Block Pulse series coefficients and integral operational matrices. This paper presents the method for improving the accuracy of the Block Pulse series coefficients and derives generalized integration operational matrix and applied the matrix to the analysis of linear time-invariant system.

조선 조립블록 운영관리에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Assembly Block Operations Management at Shipyard)

  • How to efficiently manage assembly blocks at shipyard has been a hot management issue in the shipbuilding Industry, because it has significantly influenced on the productivity of shipbuilding process. This paper introduces the real practice of assembly block operations management in Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and the Ship Assembly Block Operations Optimization (SABOO) project that h3s been launched in HHI as an academy-and-industry collaborative project, aimed to diagnose problems, propose possible solutions, and develop a prototype system in order to search ways of improving the assembly block operations management. Through the field interviews, observations, and benchmarking studies, the SABOO project diagnosed the most rudimental and urgent problem and proposed possible solutions. In addition, the SABOO project developed the prototype system that embodied the visual function of monitoring the shipyard on a real-time and the Interactive block assignment function that utilized the assembly block assignment algorithm developed by the project. As a whole, the SABOO project tested the possibility and gained an insight in extending the functions of block transportation/stockyard management system.
