  • This paper Introduces three well-known blind watermarking algorithms in terms of signal processing aspects. Those three methods include correlation-based, echo-hiding, and patchwork algorithms. Those algorithms can be applied either in time-domain (or equivalently spatial-domain) or frequency-domain (or equivalently transform-domain). This paper describes watermark embedding and detection algorithms as well as basic ideas for those watermarking algorithms. In addition, we include some experimental results.

  • This paper presents the blind multiuser detector using the constant modulus algorithm(CMA) to solve the near-far problem in DS-CDMA systems. The convergence property of the detector is compared with the conventional MOE(minimum output energy) detector by means of SIR(signal-to-interference ratio). The MOE detector needs both the spreading code of the users and the timing information, while proposed methods needs only information about the spreading code of users Simulation results show that the CMA-based detector is superior to the conventional blind MOE multiuser detector. For this, the BER performance was tested using different values of SNR and near-far ratio. The SIR is also investigated for different number of users in AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels. We have observed that the proposed blind multiuser detector performs better than conventional MOE multiuser detector.

  • In this paper, we propose a blind audio watermarking using the tonal characteristic. First, we explain the perceptional effect of tonal on the existed researches and shout the experimental result that tonal characteristic is more stable than other characteristics used in previous watermarking studies against several signal processing. On the base of the result, we propose the blind audio watermarking using the relation among the signals on the frequency domain which compose a tonal masker. To evaluate the sound quality of our watermarked audios, we used the SDG(Subjective Diff-Grades) and got the average SDG 0.27. This result says the watermarking using the perceptional effect of tonal is available from the viewpoint of non-perception. And we detected the watermark hits from the watermarked audios which were changed by several signal processing and the detection ratios with exception of the time shift processing were over 98%. About the time shift processing, we applied the new method that searched the most proper position on the time domain and then detected the watermark bits by the ratio of 90%.

  • In The objective of this paper is to apply blind minimum output energy multiuser detection method to multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple access system. The performance of MC/DS-CDMA is reduced due to multiple access. To increase the performance of system, we need to cancel multiple user components. Blind interference canceller is able to detect the desired's information with the only minimal information of the desired user. We evaluate the performance of the proposed receiver under Gaussian channel. Simulation results show that the proposed receiver has about 6[dB] gain of signal to noise ratio without multiple user interference and has about 3[dB] gain of SNR with multiple user interference. Also, the result of comparing the capacity of the active users shows that the proposed method has about 2 times capacity more than conventional method. As a conclusion, simulation results show that the proposed method has better performs better than conventional method.

  • Marine debris not only affects the survival of marine life, water pollution, and scenery but also has secondary effects on economic loss and human health. While research on underwater and surface debris is actively ongoing, solutions to marine debris in hard-to-reach blind spots are being developed slowly. To address this problem, we utilize drones to detect and track marine debris in blind spots such as tetrapods. The detected debris is then visualized by calculating its location coordinates using the drone's GPS, altitude, and heading values. The proposed method of using drones for detecting marine debris and matching it with longitude and latitude coordinates provides an effective solution to the problem of marine debris in blind spots.

  • This study was designed to compare the performance of liquid-based preparation from the AutoCyte PREP with the conventional cervicovaginal smear in masked split-samples. In randomly selected 840 cases, the conventional smear was always prepared first, and the AutoCyte PREP used the resldual cells on the collecting device. Parallel AutoCyte PREP slides and matched conventional smears were screened in a blind fashion. All abnormals and 10% random normal cases were reviewed by two pathologists in a blind fashion. The Bethesda System was used for reporting the diagnosis and specimen adequacy. The diagnoses from the two methods were agreed exactly in 767(91.3%) of 840 cases. The AutoCyte PREP demonstrated a 25% overall improvement in the detection of squamous intraepithelial lesion(SIL). The ratio of ASCUS to SIL was decreased as 0.45 compared with 1.00 of conventional smear. The AutoCyte PREP produced excellent cellular preservation and superior sensitivity for detection of atypical cells as compared to the conventional smear. It makes us to be able to subclassify ASCUS into from WNL to HSIL. We thought that the AutoCyte PREP method might contribute to increase the detection rate of abnormal cells than conventional methods.

  • A frequency hopping(FH) signal can change its carrier frequency during transmission and has spread-spectrum characteristics in these frequency bands. Therefore, FH signals are widely used in applications that require low-probability-of-intercept(LPI) and anti-jamming (AJ) abilities in wireless communication environments. In this study, the authors propose a method for generating hopping information (HI), which includes start time, dwell time, and hopping frequency for unknown FH signals. The proposed blind HI generation method produces signal detection information based on the spectrum data and then extracts HI using operational procedures for estimating the target FH signal's status, such as appearance, maintenance, and termination. Further, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method provides accurate HI without detection omissions for various FH signals.

  • The digital content's security and authentication are important in the field of digital content application. There are some methods to perform the authentication. The digital watermarking is one of authentication methods. Paper presents a digital watermark authentication method that works in the application of digital image. The proposed watermark has the triple status information and performs the embedding and the detection without original Content. When authenticating the owner information of digital content, an autocorrelation function is used. In addition, a spread spectrum method is used to be adaptive to the signal of the original content in the frequency domain(DWT Domain). Therefore, the possibility of errors occurring in the detection of hidden information was reduced. it also has a advantage what Watermarking in DWT has faster embedding and detection time than other transformation domains(DFT, DCT, etc.). if it has a an image of size N=mXm, the computational amount can be reduced from O(N·logN) to O(N). The particular advantage is that it can hide more information(bits) per bit.

  • Individuals with visual impairments face numerous challenges in their daily lives, with navigating streets and public spaces being particularly daunting. The inability to identify safe crossing locations and assess the feasibility of crossing significantly restricts their mobility and independence. Globally, an estimated 285 million people suffer from visual impairment, with 39 million categorized as blind and 246 million as visually impaired, according to the World Health Organization. In Saudi Arabia alone, there are approximately 159 thousand blind individuals, as per unofficial statistics. The profound impact of visual impairments on daily activities underscores the urgent need for solutions to improve mobility and enhance safety. This study aims to address this pressing issue by leveraging computer vision and deep learning techniques to enhance object detection capabilities. Two models were trained to detect objects: one focused on street crossing obstacles, and the other aimed to search for objects. The first model was trained on a dataset comprising 5283 images of road obstacles and traffic signals, annotated to create a labeled dataset. Subsequently, it was trained using the YOLOv8 and YOLOv5 models, with YOLOv5 achieving a satisfactory accuracy of 84%. The second model was trained on the COCO dataset using YOLOv5, yielding an impressive accuracy of 94%. By improving object detection capabilities through advanced technology, this research seeks to empower individuals with visual impairments, enhancing their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

  • In this paper, we propose an audio extraction method to decrease the influence of the original signal by modifying the watermarking detection system proposed by P. Bassia et al. In the extraction of the watermark, we employ a simple mean filter to remove the influence of the original signal as a preprocessing of extraction and the repetitive insertion of the watermark. As the result of the experiment, for which we used about 20 kinds of actual audio data, we obtain a watermark detection rate of about 95% and a good performance even after the various signal processing attacks.
