  • In this paper, We operate at a relatively low BER or using forward error control coding techniques on ways to increase the capacity of optical communication systems research. Coding gain is defined as the ratio of the probability of the coded signal and coding of error signal. Coding gain is increased, partly because of the period, to reduce the value of the optimal coding of the signal error probability decreases because of the effective bit binary symbol duration is longer than can be ignored. Transmission capacity on the coding gain for various code rates, which show the extent of up to 75Gb/s transmission capacity to get through it was confirmed that these coding techniques.

  • In this paper, a concatenated RS and Turbo code is proposed for OFDM system over burst error channel. The concatenated code used in this study is a RS(255,2D2) code and a rate 1/2 turbo code. The turbo code uses 2 recursive systematic convolutional (RSC) code as the constituent codes and the parity bit are punctured to get the desired code rate. It is shown by simulation that the conventional OFDM system fails when there exists burst noise. The concatenated RS and turbo code obtains at least 5dB gain over the turbo code at the bit error probability of $10^{-3}$.

  • The performances of M-ary PSK(MPSK) systems using L-branch maximum ratio combining(MRC) diversity reception in frequency-nonselective slow Rician fading channels are derived theoretically. Especially we investigate the effect of number of symbols on the difference between the approximation to bit error probability and the exact bit error rate(BER) in evaluating the performance of MPSK signals through numerical analyses. On the other hand, when M-ary DPSK(MDPSK) signals experience the Rician fading channels, the general formula for evaluating BER of MDPSK signals in the independent branch diversity system is presented using the integral-form expressions.

  • The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analysis of performance of MRC diversity for detection of M-ary signals on the Rician fading channels. To do it, the difference between the approximation to bit error probability and the exact bit error rate (BER) in evaluating the performance of MPSK signals is investigated by numerical analyses. In addition, the performance evaluation of MDPSK signals in the independent branch diversity is performed by an integral-form expression in case of when MDPSK signal in MRC system is experiencing the Rician fading.

  • This letter analyzes the performance of a two-hop MIMO multiuser relay network with a fixed gain amplify-and-forward protocol and antenna selection at the transmitter and receiver. A new expression for the cumulative distribution function of the highest instantaneous end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio is derived. Based on the above result, closed-form expressions for outage probability and bit error rate are presented. Also, the diversity order of the system is determined. Finally, computer simulations are compared to the analytical results, and insights and observations are provided.

  • In this paper we analyze the performance of a DS/CDMA system in LEO mobile satellite channels. The channel uses the Extended Suzuki model which is the product of a Rician distribution having a LOS component and a lognormal distribution due to shadowing. We assume that the signal transmitted from the satellite to the mobile undergoes the same fading for the whole coverage of signal's beam. The average bit error probabilities of double coverage system is calculated in this paper. The interference resulting from the reference satellite is calculated for mobile located in the middle of the double coverage region whereas the additive interference from next-satellite is included for mobile located in the edge of the double coverage region. The performance of the mobile's receiving signal is dependent on shadowing and the interference of the next-satellite. We can obtain an obtain an improved average bit error probability by using dual diversity over the conventional correlated receiver for similar shadowing conditions in the coverage area of the satellite channel.

  • Since the research of advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting system is still in progress, and in our previous paper, in which we introduced how to combine one conventional transmitted symbol with two additional bits to form a new symbol transmission, the bit error performance of LP bits is not realizable, because even we implemented the turbo code to protect the LP bits transmission, to obtain a certain good bit error probability, the value of $E_b/N_0$ cost highly. In this paper, we modified the composition of low-priority symbol and high-priority symbol, and through the system presented in previous paper we get a better simulation result of the LP symbol transmission.

  • In this paper, we analyze co-channel interference cancellation performance to be generated in multi-hop military communication system. First, remove interference using zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) scheme as interference cancellation methods, and then obtain additional diversity gain and improve interference cancellation performance by applying successive interference cancellation (SIC). We consider Rayleigh fading channel and system performance is analyzed as respect of bit error probability. From simulation results, we confirm MMSE improves significantly BER performance than ZF in multi-hop wireless network environment. It is also confirmed ZF and MMSE schemes applying SIC algorithm have better performance comparing to the existing schemes. Therefore, MMSE-SIC method can provide more reliable signal transmission in the multi-hop military communication system.

  • The error rate equation of Reed-Solomon/Convoutional concatenated coded MFSK signal transmitted over m-distributed fading channel with Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and re- ceived with Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) diversity has been derived. The bit error probability has been evaluated using the derived equation and shown n figures as a function of signal to noise ratio, fading index and the number of diversity branches. From the results obtained, we have shown that the bit error probability of MFSK signal is improved by using coding technique in fading environment. The concatenated coding technique is found to be very effective. When concatenated coding and MRC diversity reception techniques are used together in fading environ- ment, the improvement of error performance attains about 6.6 dB in terms of SNR as compared with that of employing only concatenated coding case.
