  • Pre-existing authentication system such as token based method, knowledge-based and hybrid method have problems such as loss and wiretapping. for this, this paper describes the biometric authentication system which have the excellent convenience and security. In particular, a new biometric system by human face biometric features which have the non-enforcement and non-touch measurement is proposed. Firstly, facial features are extracted by Y- histogram and tilted face images we corrected by coordinate transformation and scaling has done for achieving independent of the camera positions. Secondly, feature vectors are extracted such as distance and intersection angles and similarities we measured by fuzzy relation matrix. finally, the effectiveness of this paper is demonstrated by experiments.

  • Fast growth of smartphone technology and advent of Fintech enabled smartphones to deal with more sensitive information. Although many devices applying biometric technology are released as a step for protecting sensitive information securely, there can be potential vulnerabilities if security is not considered at the design stage of a biometric system. By analyzing the potential vulnerabilities, we classify threats in biometric system design process on smartphones and we propose the design requirements for solving these problems. In addition, we propose a framework for secure biometric system design on smartphone by synthesizing the design requirements.

  • With the pace of rapid innovation in technology of IoT (Internet of Things) and smart devices, biometric technology becomes one of the most progressive industries. Recent trends in biometrics show most are focused on embedding biometric sensors in mobile devices for user authentication. Multifactor biometrics such as fingerprint, retina, voice, etc. are considering as identification system to provide users with services more secured and convenient. Here we, therefore, demonstrate some major technologies and market trends of mobile biometric technology with its concerns and issues.

  • This paper describes a study on a person identification system which can improve currently available biometric systems. In the procedure of PIN(Personal Identification Number) input, holding time, interkey time between key presses are measured and normalized. Person identification is performed by matching using Euclidean distance of these punching dynamics. The experimental results show the possibility of improvement of the overall system performance when keypad dynamics feature is applied to the biometric systems which take PIN input using keypads.

  • M2M has shown the advantages of better coverage and lower network deployment cost. Intelligent vehicle section shows severe changes in position between vehicles and has numerous large scales of networks in its components, therefore, it is required to provide safety by exchanging information between vehicles equipped with wireless communication function via biometric information in VANET(Vehicular Ad hoc Network). This thesis is to propose scheme that mutually authenticates between vehicles by composing vehicle movement as biometric information.

  • To acquire certificate of security evaluation for information protection Products, it is necessary for a designer to grasp the threats listed in a protection profile and to reflect them in the product design. BDPP is a protection profile for the biometric devices. In this paper, we applied BDPP to a Match-on-Card, and ertracted some security requirements to protect biometric data against threats. We also studied some countermeasures satisfying the security requirements.

  • In this paper, we propose an invertible biometric image watermarking algorithm which can detect block-wise malicious manipulations. The proposed method embeds two types of watermark. The first type can completely remove distortion due to authentication if the data is deemed authentic. The second type can detect block-wise malicious manipulation by applying the parity bits concept to biometric image blocks.

  • Biometric discretization is a process of transforming continuous biometric features of an identity into a binary bit string. This paper mainly focuses on improving the global discretization method - a discretization method that does not base on information specific to each user in bitstring extraction, which appears to be important in applications that prioritize strong security provision and strong privacy protection. In particular, we demonstrate how the actual performance of a global discretization could further be improved by embedding a global discriminative feature selection method and a Linearly Separable Subcode-based encoding technique. In addition, we examine a number of discriminative feature selection measures that can reliably be used for such discretization. Lastly, encouraging empirical results vindicate the feasibility of our approach.

  • In this proposal, we aim to enhance the security of systems accounts by improving the authentication techniques. We mainly intend to enhance the accuracy of the one-time passwords via including voice biometric and recognition techniques. The recognition will be performed on the server to avoid redirecting voice signatures by hackers. Further, to enhance the privacy of data and to ensure that the active user is legitimate, we propose to periodically update the activated sessions using a user-selected biometric factor. Finally, we recommend adding a pre-transaction re-authentication which will guarantee enhanced security for sensitive operations. The main novelty of this proposal is the use of the voice factor in the verification of the one-time password and the various levels of authentications for a full-security guarantee. The improvement provided by this proposal is mainly designed for sensitive applications. From conducted simulations, findings prove the efficiency of the proposed scheme in reducing the probability of hacking users' sessions.

  • Mobile devices have recently developed to be an integral part of humans' daily lives because they meet business and personal needs. It is challenging to design a feasible and effective user authentication method for mobile devices because security issues and data privacy threats have significantly increased. Biometric approaches are more effective than traditional authentication methods. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the existing biometric user authentication methods on mobile platforms, particularly those that use face recognition, to demonstrate the methods' feasibility and challenges. Next, this paper evaluates the methods according to seven characteristics: universality, uniqueness, permanence, collectability, performance, acceptability, and circumvention. Last, this paper suggests that solely using the method of biometric authentication is not enough to identify whether users are authentic based on biometric traits.
