Several microorganisms in particular Bacillus subtilis group have been isolated from diverse places such as soils and the gastrointestinal tract of ruminants etc., and used as biocontrol agent against various plant pathogens and utilized as plant growth promoting agents. Among them, Bacillus is well known as one of the most useful bacteria for biocontrol and plant growth promotion. Bacterium GH1-13 was isolated from a reclaimed paddy field in Wando Island and identified as Bacillus velezensis using phylogenetic analysis on the basis of 16S rRNA and gyrB gene. It was confirmed that GH1-13 produced indole acetic acid (IAA) associated with promoted growth of rice root. GH1-13 showed characteristics of antagonization against the main pathogen of rice as well as diverse pathogenic fungi. GH1-13 had biosynthetic genes, bacillomycin, bacilycin, fengycin, iturin, and surfactin which are considered to be associated closely with inhibition of growth of pathogenic fungi and bacteria. This study showed that GH1-13 could be used as a multifunctional agent for biocontrol and growth promotion of crop.

The purpose of this study is to present meaningful information and policy implications concerning the determinants of royalties to the government-funded research centers and agencies. These groups are responsible for policies encouraging technology transfer from the public sector to the private sector. To identify key determinants of royalties in technology transfer, this study conducted AHP survey analysis (Survey period: 01/10~31/10, 2016) of 85 companies which were participants of the R&D project "Next Generation BioGreen21" of R.D.A in the "N"center from 2011 to 2015. Research results show that the critical factors include: 1)Technical considerations for determining the profitability of the technologies, 2)The interest and willingness of the management group, 3)Necessity and urgency of technology transfer. These findings suggest three main policy implications. First, the government-funded research centers and agencies should develop technologies that help companies improve their commercialization as well as the profitability in the near future. Second, government-funded research centers and agencies should consider reducing the administrative burden of the royalty payment for private companies. Third, public R&D projects should reflect the proper research schedule for technology development on the basis of the R&D time span of companies which transfer technology.

The purpose of the study was to explore whether the Cyber Motion sickness used VR causes a change in the dynamic balance and fall. For 39 people who voluntarily participated in this study, this study measured the motion sickness questionnaires, the heart rate and stability of limit test in BioRescue. The study used Samsung Gear VR and applied the games to the To the homeland. The game proceeded 20minutes. Although the value of the stability after a VR application is slightly reduced, it did not reach statistical significance. The motion sickness questionnaires increased, and it had a statistical significant impact. Also Heart rate increased and it had a statistically significant impact. A virtual reality game affect for getting motion sickness but it did not affect the dynamic balance. So, cyber motion sickness caused by virtual reality wear does not result in decreased balance and falls.
Ulmus davidiana supercritical fluid residue EtOH extracts(USCFR) and ethyl acetate solvent fraction (USCFREA) of supercritical extraction foil were investigated in order to examine the recycling of supercritical extraction foil in the process of studying Ulmus davidiana branch supercritical extract. Experiments were performed for the determination of total phenol content. The $IC_{50}$ value(ppm) of DPPH radical scavenging activity and ABTS radical scavenging activity was $7.42{\pm}0.09$, $7.50{\pm}0.05$, $22.94{\pm}0.09$, $6.43{\pm}0.10$, and USCFREA, respectively, as compared with the positive control (vitamin C) with values $17.80{\pm}0.14$ and $5.34{\pm}0.06$, respectively. The antioxidative activities of USCFR and USCFREA were confirmed to be superior to the positive control group. In anti-allergic activity studies, both USCFR and USCFREA showed concentration-dependentanti-allergic activity, and USCFREA showed strong anti-allergic activity even at very low concentrations. Thetotal phenolic contents (ugEG, ugGA; ppm) of USCFR were $134.17{\pm}0.13$, $132.02{\pm}0.24$ and USCFREA were $154.77{\pm}1.05$ and $153.18{\pm}1.10$, respectively. Based on the above results and strong antioxidant activity, USCFR and USCFREA hold the potential to be considered as basic research materials for the development of therapeutic supplements based medicines or functional cosmetics related to chronic inflammatory skin immunity diseases.

The aims of this study was to optimize the extraction conditions of sinigrin from Dolsan leaf mustard. Dolsan leaf mustard (Dolsan-eup, Yeosu-si) harvested during at May 2014 was used for sinigrin extraction. After the extraction of sinigrin using 50% $CH_3CN$, 10% $NH_4Cl$, 60% $CH_2OH$, and 70% $CH_3OH$, the sinigrin content was measured by HPLC analysis. The results showed that sinigrin content was highest with 50% $CH_3CN$ solvent extraction and UV detector sensitivity was greater at 228 nm rather than at 242 nm. The sinigrin concentrations of leaf, stem and root with 50% $CH_3CN$ extraction were 345 ppm, 728 ppm, and 539 ppm, respectively. After extraction of the different parts of Dolsan leaf mustard, The standard retention time by HPLC analysis of sinigrin content was 2.054, 2.032, 2.059, and 2.035 min from the root, stalk, and leaf, respectively. On the other hand, HPLC analysis showed that the leaf extracts contained glucoraphanin, one of glucosinolates. The optimum time and extraction solvent for the sinigrin extraction from Dolsan leaf mustard was found to be 24 hr with 50% $CH_3CN$ solvent. In addition, opotimum UV detector k at 228 nm. These results showed that the optimum extraction conditions for Dolsan leaf mustard were 24 hr extraction with 50% $CH_3CN$ solvent. In addition, the optimum wavelength of UV detector was determined to be 228 nm for sinigrin analysis. Therefore, this study could provide a useful information for sinigrin extraction and its systematic analysis during the storage.
Recently the increased attention pays on the processing of multiple, relatively low quantity, high value-added products resulted in adoption of batch process in the chemical process industry such as pharmaceuticals, polymers, bio-chemicals and foods. As there are more possibilities of the improvement of operations in batch process than continuous processes, a lot of effort has been made to enhance the productivity and operability of batch processes. But the chemical process industry faces a range of uncertainties factors such as demands for products, prices of product, lead time for the supply of raw materials and in the production, and the distribution of product. And global competition has made it imperative for the process industries to manage their supply chains optimally. Supply chain management aims to integrate plants with their supplier and customers so that they can be managed as a single entity and coordinate all input/output flows (of materials, information) so that products are produced and distributed in the right quantities, to the right locations, and at the right time. The objective of this study is to solve the purchase, distribution, production planning and scheduling problem, which minimizes the total costs of production, inventory, and transportation under uncertainty. And development of SCM model in chemical industry including batch mode operations. Through that, the enterprise can respond to uncertainty. Also integrated process optimal planning and scheduling model for manufacturing supply chain. The result shows that, the advantage of supply chain integration are quality matters seen by customers and suppliers, order schedules, flexibility, cost reduction, and increase in sales and profits. Also, an integration of supply chain (production and distribution system) generates significant savings by trading off the costs associated with the whole, rather than minimizing supply chain costs separately.

Portable artificial electronic nose (E-nose) system suffers from noisy fluctuation in surroundings such as temperature, vapor concentration, and gas flow, because its measuring condition is not controled precisely as in the laboratory. It is important to develop a simple and robust vapor recognition technique applicable to this uncontrolled measurement, especially for the portable measuring and diagnostic system which are expanding its area with the improvements in micro bio sensor technology. This study used a PDA-based portable E-nose to collect the uncontrolled vapor measurement signals, and applied the image matching algorithm developed in the previous study on the measured signal to verify its robustness and improved accuracy in portable vapor recognition. The results showed not only its consistent performance under noisy fluctuation in the portable measurement signal, but also an advanced recognition accuracy for 2 similar vapor species which have been hard to discriminate with the conventional maximum sensitivity feature extraction method. The proposed method can be easily applied to the data processing of the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) which are usually exposed to various operating conditions. Furthermore, it will greatly help to realize portable medical diagnostic and environment monitoring system with its robust performance and high accuracy.

Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is a species of the Brassicaceae family and an important root vegetable crop, produced worldwide. A total of 82 radish accessions with various morphological and physiological characteristics analyzed for total sugars content. These accessions includes five subspecies and classified as wild, wild-relative, traditional and improved cultivar. The four sugars, glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose, showed various contents in 82 accessions. Total sugar content ranged from 5.64 to 46.68 mg/g and showed average 25.33 mg/g. Total sugar content was not statistically significant among the five subspecies, but individual sugar ratio varied. The wild, wild-relatives and traditional cultivars were not significantly among average total sugars content compared with improved cultivars. On the other hand, the wild and traditional cultivars were showed high ratio of individual sugars. These results could be valuable information for the development of new radish cultivars and regulation of sugars biosynthesis in radish.
Land application of animal manure, such as pig slurry(PS), has been considered as valuable organic source to supply necessary nutrients for crop growth. On the other hand, little information is available on the effect of consecutive application of PS on agricultural soils. This study was conducted to evaluate the influence on change in soil chemical properties and yield of Chinese cabbage in soils amended with slurry composting and bio-filtration pig slurry (SCB) for four consecutive crop cultivations (2007-2008). Among total application rates required, a basal fertilizer (35%) was applied with SCB or chemical fertilizer (CF). The CF was applied as a side dressing was applied in all treatments. There was no significant effect of SCB and CF on Chinese cabbage yield during four cropping seasons. In addition, soluble sugar, vitamin C contents and yields of Chinese cabbage between SCB and CF did not show statistically significant difference. During the experiment, soil chemical properties between SCB and CF treatment showed similar pattern, however, the contents of exchangeable sodium (Na) in soil has been increased (P<0.05) since the second cropping season because of higher Na contents in SCB. Therefore, the use of SCB as a substitute of CF is available for growth and yield of chinese cabbage while its long-term application might leads to an accumulation of Na in soil.
