Asymmetric Light curves of Contact and Near-Contact Binaries

  • We attempt to investigate the main reason of the asymmetrical light curves of contact and near-contact eclipsing binary base on the hypothesis that cool spot was produced on late type star while hot spot was produced from transferred material from their companion star hitting surface. We select 7 eclipsing binary systems which showed asymmetric light curves and mass transfer. Period variation and mass transfer rate were obtained from O-C diagram. Radial velocity curves and light curves of those 7 eclipsing binary system were adopted from available literature in order to obtain the absolute dimension. For four contact eclipsing binary system (AD Phe, EZ Hya, AG Vir and VW Boo), their component stars belonged to spectral type G to K was fitted by cool spot model. While the other two near-contact systems (RT Scl and V1010 Oph) and one contact system (SV Cen) was fitted by cool spot model. The densities of the materials are adopted from stellar model which calculate by stellar structure code. The calculated spot temperature turns out to agree with the photometric solution but there are no correlate between period variation rate and type of spot.

등뼈 곡선을 이용한 2진 로봇 머니퓰레이터의 역기구학적 해석 (A Study on the Inverse kinematic Analysis of a Binary Robot Manipulator using Backbone Curve)

  • A binary parallel robot manipulator uses actuators which have only two stable states and is structure is variable geometry truss. As a result, it has a finite number of states and fault tolerant mechanism because of kinematic redundancy. This kind of robot manipulator has the following advantages compared to a traditional one. Feedback control is not required, task repeatability can be very high, and finite state actuators are generally inexpensive. Because the number of states of a binary robot manipulator grows exponentially with the number of actuators, it is very difficult to solve an inverse kinematic problem. The goal of this paper is to develop an efficient algorithm to solve an inverse kinematic problem when the number of actuators are too much or the target position is located outside of workspace. The backbone curve is generated optimally by considering the curvature of the robot manipulator configuration and length of link. Then, the robot manipulator is fitted along the backbone curve with some criteria.

  • 본 논문에서는 2PAM(binary pulse-antipodal modulation) DS(direct-sequence) UWB(ultra-wideband) 시스템을 V-BLAST(vertical bell lab layered space-time) 구조를 사용하는 MIMO(multiple input multiple output) 시스템에 적용하여 실내 무선 채널 환경에서 고속 데이터 전송률을 달성하고자 한다. 이러한 2PAM DS UWB MIMO 시스템의 BER 성능과 송수신 안테나의 차원과의 관계가 논의된다. 또한, UWB-MIMO 시스템의 수신기에서는 ZF(zero-forcing), ZF-OSIC(ordered successive interference cancellation), MMSE(minimum-mean-square-error), MMSE-OSIC, ML(maximum likelihood)과 같은 다양한 MIMO(multiple input multiple output)와 같은 다양한 MIMO 검출기법이 비교, 분석된다.

Physiochemical Properties of Binary Pluronic Systems for Reversal of Multi-drug Resistant (MDR) Cancers

  • Pluronic as pharmaceutical excipients are listed in the US and British Pharmacopoeia. In particular, Pluronics exist as different compositions and display abundant phases as self-assembling into polymeric micelles with various morphologies depending on the aqueous solvent quality, the composition of structure, and hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB). Pluronics were also known as a P-gp modulator, which was exploited as a reversal molecule of multi-drug resistant (MDR) cancers. We selected a lamella forming Pluronic L92 which has high hydrophobicity and relatively long PEO block among L series of Pluronics. The dispersion of L92 showed great size particles and low stability. To increase the stability and to decrease the particle size, secondary Pluronics (F68, F88, F98, F127, P85, P105, and P123) with relatively long PEO chain were added into 0.1 wt% Pluronic L92 dispersion. The stability of binary systems was increased due to incorporated long PEO chain. Their particle sizes slightly decreased to over 200~400 nm and their solubilization capacity of binary systems didn't change except Pluronic L92/P123 mixtures. The L92/P123 systems showed ca. 100 nm sizes and lowest turbidity among the all systems. The solubilization capacity of 0.1 wt% L92/0.1 wt% P123 was slightly increased compared to 0.1 wt% L92 mono system and other binary systems. These nano-sized binary systems may have potential as alternative drug delivery systems with simple preparation method and overcome the drawbacks of mono systems such as low stability and loading capacity.

디지털영상의 저작권보호 라벨링을 위한 Reversible DTCNN(Discrete-Time Cellular Neural Network) 구조 (The Structure of Reversible DTCNN (Discrete-Time Celluar Neural Networks) for Digital Image Copyright Labeling)

  • 본 논문은 저작권보호를 위해 디지털영상의 라벨링을 위한 reversible DTCNN(discrete-time cellular neural network) 구조를 제안한다. 이러한 저작권보호 라벨링을 위해서 2차원 이진 pseudo 랜덤 영상열에 사용할 수 있는 새로운 reversible DTCNN의 구조와 개념을 설명하고 이에 대한 복잡행위를 보여주기 위해 reversible DTCNN의 서로 다른 방법들의 예시를 들어 설명한다. 또한 서로 다른 2진영상인 원영상과 복사된 영상은 서로 다른 2진 랜덤 영상키를 사용한다. 이 영상키는 원영상을 스크램블하는데 사용된다. 따라서 reversible DTCNN를 다시 역변환시켜서 저작권보호가 라벨링된 영상으로부터 복사된 영상임을 찾아낼 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 동영상을 처리하는 데는 S/W에서는 많은 시간이 소요되므로 고속 DTCNN 칩을 사용하여 실시간에서 동영상이나 비디오영상을 저작권보호를 위한 라벨링에 사용할 수 있으며, 이러한 결과를 컴퓨터에서 시뮬레이션됨을 보인다.

개선된 이진 확장 GCD 알고리듬 기반 GF(2163)상에서 Iterative 나눗셈기 설계 (Design of Iterative Divider in GF(2163) Based on Improved Binary Extended GCD Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 표준기저(standard basis) 표기법을 이용하여 GF($2^{163}$) 상에서개선된 나눗셈 알고리듬을 제안하고, 제안한 알고리듬을 기반으로 한 반복 하드웨어 구조(iterative hardware structure)를 갖는 고속 나눗셈기를 설계한다. 제안한알고리듬은 이진 확장 GCD 알고리듬을 기본으로 하고 있으며, 모듈러감소 (modular reduction)를 위한 모든 산술연산은 기존의 방법과 달리 하나의 while루프 내에서 수행된다. 제안된 알고리듬을 기본으로 하여 설계된 나눗셈기는 모듈러 연산을 위한 각 모듈이 하나의 클럭에 의해서제어되므로 계산 속도가 매우 빠르다. 여기에서 사용하는 감소 다항식(reduction polynomial)은 SEC2 (Standards for Efficient Cryptography) 에서 권장하는 $f(x)=x^{163}+x^7+x^6+x^3+1$이며, 차수(degree) m은 163을 사용한다. 제안한 알고리듬은 Verilog HDL(Hardware Description Language)을 사용하여 FPGA로 구현되었으며, Xilinx-VirtexII XC2V8000 FPGA 상에서 85MHz로 동작함을 확인하였다. 또한, 구현 결과 및 성능 평가를 통하여 제안한 알고리듬의 종래의 두 알고리듬보다 성능이크게 개선됨을 보인다.

유전알고리즘을 이용한 이원계 나노입자의 원자배열 예측 (Prediction of Atomic Configuration in Binary Nanoparticles by Genetic Algorithm)

  • Optimal atomic configurations in a nanoparticle were predicted by genetic algorithm. A truncated octahedron with a fixed composition of 1 : 1 was investigated as a model system. A Python code for genetic algorithm linked with a molecular dynamics method was developed. Various operators were implemented to accelerate the optimization of atomic configuration for a given composition and a given morphology of a nanoparticle. The combination of random mix as a crossover operator and total_inversion as a mutation operator showed the most stable structure within the shortest calculation time. Pt-Ag core-shell structure was predicted as the most stable structure for a nanoparticle of approximately 4 nm in diameter. The calculation results in this study led to successful prediction of the atomic configuration of nanoparticle, the size of which is comparable to that of practical nanoparticls for the application to the nanocatalyst.

  • 벤젠-염화에틸렌 이성분 용액에다 significant liquid structure theory를 확장 적용시켰다. 라울의 법칙이 만족되는 온도 범위 안에서 적용되는 분배함수를 구하였다. 이 분배함수로 부터 계의 전체압, 부분압, 몰부피 그리고 혼합엔트로피와 같은 열역학적 양을 $293.15^{\circ},\;323.14{\circ}$$357.15^{\circ}K$에서 계산하였다. 이와 같이 구한 이론적인 계산치들은 실측치와 대단히 잘 맞었다.

Adaptive block tree structure for video coding

  • The Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET) has studied future video coding (FVC) technologies with a potential compression capacity that significantly exceeds that of the high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard. The joint exploration test model (JEM), a common platform for the exploration of FVC technologies in the JVET, employs quadtree plus binary tree block partitioning, which enhances the flexibility of coding unit partitioning. Despite significant improvement in coding efficiency for chrominance achieved by separating luminance and chrominance tree structures in I slices, this approach has intrinsic drawbacks that result in the redundancy of block partitioning data. In this paper, an adaptive tree structure correlating luminance and chrominance of single and dual trees is presented. Our proposed method resulted in an average reduction of -0.24% in the Y Bjontegaard Delta rate relative to the intracoding of JEM 6.0 common test conditions.

WCDMA 통신용 I-Q 채널 12비트 1GS/s CMOS DAC (I-Q Channel 12bit 1GS/s CMOS DAC for WCDMA)

  • 본 논문에서는 WCDMA 통신용 송신기에 적용 가능한 12비트 1GS/s 전류구동 방식의 혼합형 DAC를 설계하였다. 제안된 DAC는 혼합형 구조로써 하위 4비트는 이진 가중치 구조, 중간비트와 상위비트는 4비트 온도계 디코더 구조로 12비트를 구성하였다. 제안된 DAC는 혼합형 구조에서 발생되는 지연시간에 따른 성능 저하를 개선하기 위해 지연시간보정 회로를 사용하였다. 지연시간보정 회로는 위상주파수 검출기, 전하펌프, 제어회로로 구성되어 이진 가중치 구조와 온도계 디코더 구조에서 발생하는 지연시간을 감소시킨다. 제안한 DAC는 CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ 1-poly 6-metal n-well 공정을 사용하여 제작되었고 측정된 INL/DNL은 ${\pm}0.93LS/$ 0.62LSB 이하로 나타났다. 입력 주파수 1MHz에서 SFDR은 약 60dB로 측정되었고 SNDR은 51dB로 측정되었다. 단일 DAC의 전력소모는 46.2mW로 나타났다.
