근해 대형 선망선의 횡동요 경감을 위한 최적의 빌지킬 설계 (An optimal bilge keel design to reduce the rolling of the offshore large purse seiner)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the roll damping characteristics by bilge keels on the fishing vessel. Unlike other degree of freedom motions, roll motion is highly nonlinear. However the quantitative evaluation of roll damping combined with waves is very important for the fishing vessel. To reduce roll motion, roll motion stabilizers such as a bilge keel is used due to easy made and cheap cost rather than anti-rolling tank and fin-stabilizer. Authors paid attention to the shape of bilge keel and waves to grasp the roll damping for the fishing vessel and studied about the difference of tendencies of roll angle following the shapes of bilge keel. The model ship was the offshore large purse seiner and four types of bilge keel were used. The data from the experiments were provided and analyzed to investigate the rolling characteristics of the model ship being affected by the wave height, wave period and bilge keel shape. The results of the study showed that three types of the bilge keel have little effective, but only one has an effect on the roll damping. So bilge keel shape and its attachment method need to be a future study for the practical use in fishing vessel.

24,000TEU급 컨테이너선박의 빌지 펌핑 성능에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Bilge Pumping Performance of 24,000TEU class Container Ship)

  • 본 연구에서는 전장이 400m인 24,000TEU급 컨테이너선박을 대상으로 선박 내 빌지펌핑의 성능에 대한 케이스 스터디를 수행하였다. 본 연구의 대상인 24,000TEU급 컨테이너선박의 빌지시스템의 경우 선급의 규칙에 맞게 설계되었지만, 선박 내 설치되어 있는 빌지펌프의 정격유량 및 최대유량 조건에서도 SOLAS Reg.II-1/35-1의 2 m/s 요건을 만족시키지 못하였다. 특히 1번 ~ 4번 화물창에 대해, 해수로 가득차 있다고 가정한 상태에서 해수를 모두 배출하는 동안에 빌지 주관에서의 평균유속을 계산할 결과, 2번 화물창, 3번 화물창 및 4번 화물창은 평균유속이 2 m/s 미만으로 기준에 적합하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 2번, 3번 및 4번 화물창의 150A 빌지 지관을 200A 배관으로 교체하여 계산을 수행하였으며, 그 결과 화물창 내의 해수를 모두 배출하는 동안의 빌지 주관에서의 해수평균유속이 각각 2.479m/s, 2.476,m/s 및 2.459m/s 로 기준을 만족시키는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • Oil-related products have provided many benefits to humanity, but are significant contributors to environmental pollution. As per the International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements, in the future, all ships must be equipped with filtering equipment and 5ppm bilge alarms that can help remove or reduce oil products during wastewater treatment. In this study, a UV fluorescence measurement system that can detect the oil components in wastewater containing both water and oil was developed. When an excitation wavelength of 254nm was used to irradiate the wastewater, the amount of UV at a divergent wavelength of 360nm was measured to measure the contamination. Based on the measurement, it was concluded that this system is suitable for use as the 5ppm bilge alarm proposed by IMO.

  • 해양환경 규제 MEPC의 규제 강화로 인하여 더욱 정밀하고, 신뢰성을 확보한 빌지분리 센서 시스템이 필요하다. 빌지 분류기를 설계 제작하기 위해서는 기름과 물을 구별하는 정밀한 유수분리 레벨센서가 필요하다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 정전용량형 레벨센서의 특성 파악을 위해 3차원 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 특성을 파악하였으며, 이를 토대로 레벨센서의 설계시 주요한 설계인자를 추출하였다. 동작회로를 Digital 회로로 구성함으로써, 정전용량형 센서의 원천적인 기생커패시턴스 문제를 해결하였으며, 실험장치를 구성한 후 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과를 보면 노이즈에는 강인해졌음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 추출한 정전용량형 레벨센서의 설계인자를 이용하여 정밀도를 향상시키기 위한 연구가 향후에 진행 될 필요성이 있다.

  • In most shipyards Floating Dock-gate System is adapted for dry docks. For the safe launching of ships in dry docks, smooth operation of dock-gate must be guaranteed. So it is very important to grasp its behavior in waves for securing the high productivity and the safety of workers. Its seakeeping ability was estimated numerically at the floating conditions and the free roll decay and the seakeeping model tests of dock-gate was carried out with bilge-keels of 3 different widths which have a scale of 1 to 20. More than 20% decrease of roll motion was observed in irregular beam seas by applying a bilge-keel system to the dock-gate that is long and narrow.

  • Velocity field behind a container ship model with a rotating propeller has been investigated using PIV (particle image velocimetry) system. Four hundred instantaneous velocity fields were measured at 4 different blade phases and ensemble-averaged to investigate the spatial evolution of vortical structure of near wake within one propeller diameter downstream. The phase-averaged mean velocity fields show the potential wake and the viscous wake formed due to the boundary layers developed on the blade surfaces. The interaction between bilge vortex developed along the hull surface and the tangential velocity component of incoming flow causes to have asymmetric flow structure in the transverse plane.

소형선박의 횡요방지 제어장치 연구 (A Study on the Anti-Rolling Control System of Small Ship)

  • The roll damping characteristics of the three models of a small fishing(3 ton class fishing vessel), such as the bare hull, hull with bilge keels, and hull with bilge keels and a central wing are investigated by the free roll and head waves tests in calm water in a towing tank with the various forward speeds, initial angles and OG's. The experimental results are compared with the numerical results of mathematical modelings by the energy method for these three models and the energy dissipation patterns are also compared. And the wave length variations are also included. The roll damping moment of the models is increased for zero speed cases, but as the speed increases, the effect of the waves on the roll damping of the models with the additional devices is negligible due to the much increased damping caused by the lift increase.

한국 근해 대형 선망 어선의 횡동요 감쇠 특성 (Roll reduction characteristics of the offshore large purseiner in Korea)

  • The inherent efficiency of a ship would be prior to any other quality factors in ship's safety, because lack of it may give rise to a serious sea casuality even if it were a light mistake in operation. And the representative casualty comes from a deficiency of stability and an operating error combined would be capsizing. The Korean offshore large purseiner looks to have a structural weak point with small range of stability in spite of her big initial metacentric height, and have various type of roll reduction devices in order to cover up the defect. The aim of this study is to grasp for the roll reduction characteristics of the purseiner with bilge keel only and a stern keel additionally attached. The results are summarized as follows; The rolling angle of the model ship was increased in accordance with increase of the wave period and height, especially at close to the natural wave period of her, and the trends were more distinguished in the situation of bilge keel only installation than in the stern keel additionally installed. And stern keel has not noticeable effect on the reduction of the roll in the light ship condition, but has a little effect in full load condition.

전기화학적 처리장치에 의한 유화된 선저폐수의 처리에 관한 연구 (A study on treatment of emulsified oil waste water in vessels by electrochemical treatment system)

  • 본 연구에서는 선저폐수 중에 유화된 상태의 유분이 존재할 경우엔 기존의 유처리 분리장치에 의해 선박의 배출허용기준치를 만족하는데 어려움이 있는 것을 감안하여 기존의 유처리 분리시스템에 전기화학적 처리장치를 추가하는 방안을 검토하고자한다. 이를 위해 실험실 규모의 전기화학적 처리장치를 설계ㆍ제작하여 각종 변수인 수력학적 체류시간, 전류밀도, 양극과 음극간의 간격 등을 변화시키며 유화유 폐수중의 유분 제거성능실험을 실시하였으며, 유화된 선저폐수 중의 유분 제거성능실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험결과 전기화학적 처리장치에 의해 유화유 폐수를 효과적으로 처리할 수 있는 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A study to evaluate the fire extinguishing performance of the water mist system inside simulated machinery spaces according to IMO MSC/Circ.668 was performed. Fire tests were conducted inside a compartment having a area 100$m^2$(10m${\times}$10m) with a ceiling height of 10m and door opening of 2m${\times}$2m in size. Test fuels were used heptane, diesel, wood crib and mineral oil. Water mist nozzles were installed downward at ceiling and horizontally at bilge area. All fires in the test were extinguished within 15minutes of system activation and there was no reignition or fire spread.
