  • Since 1960's there have been conducted quite numbers of origin and destination (0-D) surveys in Korea, Most of them, however, were to be said not so successful. In this paper, it was investigated that why the previous 0-D surveys were failed, and that how it could be improved. The findings of this study are: 1. The collection of sample data itself was performed relatively well, but the problem was in the improper expansion methods which were applied. 2. To improve the expansion methods, it should be performed not only the dwelling unit-based sample surveys but also commercial vehicle survey, cordon line survey, screen line counts and other auxiliary travel surveys like transit patronage survey, vehicle miles survey etc. at the same time. 3. To expand the sample surveyed data in a proper way, the adjustment factors should take a disaggregate form and also should be applied not to the specific trips, but to the specific trip makers to avoid the bias which could be caused by the application of adjustment factors in a way that has been used previously. 4. If there is no considerable change in travel patterns, we can synthesize the present 0-D data with past surveyed sample data, using present statistic data in the same way which was developed in this paper when expanding and adjusting sample data.

  • FIR(Finite Impulse Response) filter is well known to be ideal for the finite time state-space model, but it requires much computation due to its inherent non-recursive structure especially when the measurement interval grows to a large extent. And often a fixed-lag smoother based on the finite time interval is needed to monitor the soundness of the system model and the measurement model, but the computation burden of FIR-type smoother imposes much restriction of its usage for real-time application. Conventional recursive forms of FIR estimator[1]-[4] could not be used for real time applications, since they are numerically unstable in their recursive equations. To cope with this problem, we suggest a stable recursive form FIR estimator(SRFIR) and its usefulness is demonstrated for designing the real-time fixed-lag smoother on the finite time window through an example of detection of rate bias in the anti-aircraft gun fire control system.

  • This paper proposes the Low-Dropout regulator with two output. Each of the two output has feedback, and shared feedback loop. PMOS is added to solve the problem the occur when sharing the feedback loop. Thus eased the Load Transient Response. Also Using one of the bias citcuit and one of the pass transistor, Area is reduce by half compared to Existing Area that used to obtain output of two output.

  • The residence plan of Korea has been formed with bias for quantitative growth and uniformity failing at obtaining human value. Also, rapid growth brought about severe problems of deteriorated human life and destruction of environment. The solution for these problems is pursued in many directions, but there is short of active plan yet. The residence shall develop into new direction to satisfy the demand by reflecting society and culture as well as residents. This study examines external design with symbolic representation of regional feature as an alternative for uniform residence environment problem. This study will be a basic data upon suggesting the direction for planning high quality residence environment. This study examined the elements which form external space of residence complex, designed plan for external space of residence complex, and examined how to reflect regional feature which is important element of local community and culture on the space plan for residence complex based on the evaluation by local residents centered on Gimcheon-si, Gyeongbuk which just started local specialty by fostering. • The metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor (MFS) structure is widely studied for nondestructive readout (NDRO) memory devices, but conventional MFS structure has a critical problem. It is difficult to obtain ferroelectric films like PZT on Si substrate without interdiffusion of impurities such as Pb, Ti and other elements. In order to solve these problems, the metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor (MFIS) structure has been proposed with a buffer layer of high dielectric constant such as MgO, $Y_2O_3$, and $CeO_2$. In this study, the etching characteristics (etch rate, selectivity) of MgO thin films were etched using $Cl_2/Ar$ plasma. The maximum etch rate of 85 nm/min for MgO thin films was obtained at $Cl_2$(30%)/Ar(70%) gas mixing ratio. Also, the etch rate was measured by varying the etching parameters such as ICP rf power, dc-bias voltage, and chamber pressure. Plasma diagnostics was performed by Langmuir probe (LP) and optical emission spectroscopy (OES).

  • This paper introduces an evolutionary nonlinear regression based compensation technique for the short-range prediction of wind speed using AWS(Automatic Weather Station) data. Development of an efficient MOS(Model Output Statistics) is necessary to correct systematic errors of the model, but a linear regression based MOS is hard to manage an irregular nature of weather prediction. In order to solve the problem, a nonlinear and symbolic regression method using GP(Genetic Programming) is suggested for a development of MOS wind forecast guidance. Also FCM(Fuzzy C-Means) clustering is adopted to mitigate bias of wind speed data. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of the estimation by a GP based nonlinear MOS for 3 days prediction of wind speed in South Korean regions. This method is then compared to the UM model and has shown superior results. Data for 2007-2009, 2011 is used for training, and 2012 is used for testing.

  • We propose pulse-mode dynamic $R_on$ measurement as a method for analyzing the effect of stress on large-scale high-power AlGaN/GaN HFETs. The measurements were carried out under the soft-switching condition (zero-voltage switching) and aimed to minimize the self-heating problem that exists with the conventional hard-switching measurement. The dynamic $R_on$ of the fabricated AlGaN/GaN MIS-HFETs was measured under different stabilization time conditions. To do so, the drain-gate bias is set to zero after applying the off-state stress. As the stabilization time increased from $ 0.1{\mu}s$ to 100 ms, the dynamic $R_on$ decreased from $160\Omega$ to $2\Omega$. This method will be useful in developing high-performance GaN power FETs suitable for use in high-efficiency converter/inverter topology design.

  • Time synchronization system using dual frequency bands is designed and the error sources are analyzed for alternative synchronized-pseudolite navigation system (S-PNS) which aims at military application. To resolve near/far problem, dual frequency band operation is proposed instead of pulsing transmission which degrades level of reception. In dual frequency operation H/W delay should be considered to eliminate errors caused by inter-frequency bias (IFB) difference between the receivers of the pseudolites and users. When time synchronization is performed across the sea, multipath error is occurred severely since the elevation angle between pseudolites is low so total reflection can be happened. To investigate the difference of multipath effects according to location, pseudolites are set up coastal area and land area and performances are compared. The error source related with tropospheric delay is becoming dominant source as the coverage of the PNS is broadening. The tropospheric delay is measured by master pseudolite receiver directly using own pseudorange and slave pseudorange. Flight test is performed near coastal area using S-PNS equipped with developed time synchronization system and test results are also presented.

  • This paper presents a novel series connected DC/DC converter and a proper variable phase shift switching method in order to obtain high voltage ratio for fuel cell system. The proposed series connected DC/DC converter has same rectifier and LC filter for DC output voltage, so it can reduce the number of passive devices regardless of the converter number. In the conventional constant phase shift switching method, the proposed series connected DC converters have inverse bias output voltage. In order to overcome this problem, a simple but proper variable phase shift switching method is proposed in the a novel series connected DC/DC converter. In order to verify the proposed system, simulation and experiments are implemented.

  • The last decade has witnessed a surge of research interest in differences between regular and irregular workers in employment forms. Recent studies on estimating wage differentials between the two types of workers in employment forms have typically used the linear regression analysis. Our study utilizes a new methodology to estimate wage differentials between the two types of workers: data matching. Our method can perform better than the ordinary regression analysis because it carefully addresses the selection bias problem. Our results indicate that there is no significant difference in wage between regular and irregular workers.
