This research presents an analysis of algorithm for ship track-keeping along a given trajectory. The maneuver of a free running model ship guiding through a simple path are presented. In order to solve the above problem, a desired trajectory is usually determined by GPS points in a pre-fixed place then these points are set in a pre-programmed navigation so that the ship would be automatically tracked. Proportional-Derivative(PD) control which is useful for fast response controllers was used in this program as a course keeping system. A high accuracy GPS receiver was installed on the model ship that could provide positions frequently, the system will compare and give out the remaining distance and heading to the target way-point. The results of ship auto track-keeping experiment will be explained in order to illustrate the adjustment in controlling parameters. These results can be utilized as a preliminary step to carry out the experiment of ship collision avoidance system and automatic berthing in the future.

Typhoons are usually influencing at least 3 or 4 times per year in Korean peninsula and they accompanied with strong winds and heavy rains and then brought tremendous loss of properties and lives. Especially typhoon "MAEMI" resulted in a lot of marine accidents of vessels such as sinking, stranding, collision etc. at anchoring or on berthing in pier. If the typhoon comes up to expected area influencing the incidents, the vessel tries to escape from the route of typhoon or anchor in sheltering anchorage. However, consideration of the anchoring or judgement of ship's safety against strong winds is decided only by the experience of operators without detail evaluation of the safety. Therefore, this paper evaluated the safety of T.S. HANBADA by comparing the external forces with the holding powers. Furthermore, based on this evaluation, the anchoring manual was produced for the maximum endurable wind velocity, the general precautions and the actions taken on the ship with steps.

The use of tugboats for the safe berthing/unberthing of ships is the most crucial factor in the safe and efficient operation of the harbor. However, the adequate number and size of tugboats that should be held based on the characteristics of the port have not been investigated in detail, which causes disputes between involved parties. Therefore, the suitable number of tugboats and the ratio of the tugboat horsepower were determined in this study using simulation techniques, with focus on Ulsan Port. First, the ship and tugboat-operating models were designed for simulation application. Next, the input variables defined in the model design were standardized in an inputtable form using ARENA software. In addition, the arrival and division process of the ship was designed and simulated as an ARENA model. Finally, the simulation results for six scenarios showed that an effective tugboat operation could be achieved when 42 tugboats were held at Ulsan Port.
Mathematical model of maneuvering motion for a Mobile Harbor is established and versatile applications to the special situations of maneuvering are attempted. The Mobile Harbor in this research has twin Azipod thruster and twin bow thruster. In order to predict the maneuverability of Mobile Harbor, a mathematical model was developed on the basis of MMG model, and some model test results were adopted for the simulation of Mobile Harbor. As a result, the turning motions of the Mobile Harbor were successfully calculated. and the optimal berthing system was completed.
T.S. HANBADA has a relatively large hull and superstructures above the water line, so she has much of leeway or turning of bow with the effect of winds. Especially on berthing, unberthing and/or sailing on low speed, these effects take place more significant. Therefore, it was carried out the numerical calculation of the wind force and moments acting on the T.S. HANBADA, and then calculated the leeway angle and counter rudder angle with the relative wind direction and velocity. Also, it was suggested the maximum wind velocity which could be berthed or unberthed used by bow thruster and the tugboat operations in strong winds. These results will be great helpful to the vessels with large superstructures on ship's handling in harbour or tugboat operations.

Two-Way CAR-FERRY land and islands, islands to islands, the connection between sustainable marine transportation in conjunction with the increasing demand of tourists, according to the associated coastal maritime tourism and passenger transport has a role. Subsequent Two-Way CAR-FERRY and the increased ease of use due to berthing maritime accidents can be reduced. Two-Way CAR-FERRY as the draft (even) in the state on both sides of the propeller, because the propeller due to the small diameter, low speed forward flight by the reaction at the shaft and propeller damage can occur. Engine output accordingly, linear and torsional vibration reducer by, elastic coupling selection transverse vibration and shaft alignment (Shaft alignment) considering the shaft design (bearing size, width, thickness) and the primary drive shaft support portion of the hull structure of evaluated for quality.

The berth and crane scheduling problem in a container terminal encompasses the whole process of assigning berth to each ship. determining the duration of berthing, assigning container cranes to each ship, and determining the specific start and end time of each crane service, for all the ships scheduled to be arriving at the terminal during a certain scheduling horizon. This problem is basically a constraint satisfaction problem in which all the constraints should be satisfied. However, it is also an optimization problem because the requested arrival and departure time should be met for as many of the scheduled ships as possible. while the operation cost of the terminal should be minimized. In this paper. I present an effective approach to solving this problem, which combines both constraint satisfaction search and iterative improvement search. I test this method on a real world container terminal problem and the results show that the method can produce better results than any other existing method.

Marinas are often located in prime port side locations. hi Korea these locations are already developed and reclamation of the existing properties poses many difficulties and financial overhead. Also, to develop a standard marina in Korea with tide ranges up to 6 meters would require considerable dredging and reclamation works needing long lead times and large SOC costs. The Ocean Space's floating marina system is an independent offshore floating static level system that does not require fixed location breakwaters. The entire marina floats with the tide giving a calm consistent berthing condition for vessels irrespective of the surrounding tide and weather conditions. The floating marina system provides also for all of functions needed to marina comprising a breakwater to protect the vessels, the pontoon system to house the vessels, a dub house and retail tourism precinct, fuel reservoir and associated support facilities in a turn key self contained unit. The modular nature of the system will mean that initial demand can be met with simple units and then further modules can be added quite easily without the related expansion difficulties or infrastructure. This paper contains the main characteristics of the floating marina system and tire design process of the structure. The mooring, motion & stability analysis, the overall & local structural design and the mooring & anchor system design are introduced in this paper.
Port is responsible for the important role that creates a lot of value-added export and import-intensive countries, critical infrastructure, and in the national economy. Despite being an important facility for the past, awareness of the port is insufficient; In 2000s, increasing the world container traffic volumes, China's economic development, and trade volume in the Northeast Asia to generate a lot of are changing the perception of the role and importance of the port. According to the review of the master plan and the port recognition in Korean Port, this study examines determining factors which affects the port cargo volume. The target of the study is domestic small and medium-sized container port that receives a large hinterland cargo volume, excluding the impact of the Global Hub Port like Busan and Gwangyang port. Factors that affect the multiple regression analysis result of the port cargo volume are berthing capacity, degree of activation, connection number of countries, GRDP and number of manufacturers.
Mobile Harbor(MH) is a new paradigm for maritime transport system introduced in Korea, the target of which is to carry out ship-to-ship cargo operation rapidly and effectively even under a condition of sea state 3. A MH ship is moored alongside a large container vessel anchored at the defined anchorage and also equipped with gantry cranes for handling containers. The MH study concerned includes rapid container handling system, optimum design for floating structure, hybrid berthing & cargo operation system, design for cargo handling crane, etc. This paper is to deal with a conceptual design of a stabilized mooring system and mooring equipment under a condition of ship-to-ship mooring. In this connection, we suggest a positioning control winch system in order to control heave motions of the MH ship which is to add constant brakepower and stabilized function to an auto-tension winch and mooring equipment used currently in large container ships.
