While many success stories are reported in the area of RFID applications, actual RFID deployments in industry are being realized a lot slower than expected. One of the main reasons for that is the lack of decision makers' understanding on the RFID ROI. In this research we drew a comprehensive list of cost and benefit items regarding RFID deployments especially for distribution and retail industry. In addition, we mapped these cost/benefit items to corresponding SCOR processes so that users can easily utilize the suggested cost-benefit analysis model when they want to improve their own processes using the RFID technology. The developed cost-benefit analysis model was implemented as a software tool for convenient use. Our research results can be used not only for those who want to evaluate the RFID technology prior to actual deployment but also by the researchers in this area.

The cost/benefit analysis method is frequently used in the feasibility study of investments on geo-spatial information system. The cost/benefit analysis method has been applied extensively in the feasibility study of conventional information systems and recently efforts has been made to apply this method to geo-spatial information systems as well. This study efforts were made to present a cost/benefit model suitable for Korean GSIS and this model was then applied to Facility Management. In establishment of the cost model, the items of various costs were defined and a survey was made to find the average unit cost of each item. For the benefit model, the benefits of implementing a geo-spatial information system is classified into tangible and intangible benefits and only th tangible benefits were further classified. The established cost/benefit model was then applied to a gas distribution company with more than 100 employees and more than 300,000 customers. A GSIS was designed and the cost its implementation was compared to the present manual method of operation.
Purpose - The aim of this study is to investigate the benefit-sharing activities. They affect contract renewal intention between franchisers and franchisees that are linked through a contract with the intention of building their relationship from the level based on dynamic trust. This study will show a new approach on qualitative growth and consolidation of competitive power and may well be able to suggest practical ways to strengthen directions in the field of franchise industries. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, based on literature review, we separated logistical-supporting activities and non-logistical-supporting activities from benefit-sharing activities. We modeled how benefit-sharing activities influence contract renewal intention of franchisees by dynamic trust. In particular, considering the possibility of trading concepts and characteristics of trust between providers opportunistic behaviors was defined as variables, depending on the situation and dynamic characters reveal their relationship trust concept. That is, dynamic trust having the possibility of changing depending on opportunistic risks and interdependencies by Lewis & Weigert(1985, 2012) was classified into transitional-based trust, calculated based trust, relational-based trust and balance-based on trust. The total of 104 samples from domestic franchisees being with franchisees were collected by using a structural composed questionnaire. Results - The results are as following. Benefit-sharing activities in logistical supporting activities appeared to affect the multidimensional concept of transitional trust, calculated based on trust, relationship-based trust and balance based on trust dynamic trust with all-defined impact. Non-logistical supporting activities appeared to affect significantly the positive (+) to the dynamic trust concept except transitional trust. Lewis & Weigert(1985; 2012) have proposed a dynamic confidence calculated from relations within-based trust relationship based on trust appears to affect the significant positive (+) to the balance-based confidence transactions confidence mechanism of the system side in the verified relationship. Finally, a relationship based on trust and confidence in the balance based on the Influence of dynamic renewed confidence showed significantly affect the positive(+). In particular, the balance based trust showed the acts as a mediating factors between relational trust and confidence and renew calculated. Conclusion - From the above these results, the significance from this study is as following. First, the proposed activity is to share and validate the approach by identifying the potential in the relationship from the contract with building dynamic trust, and one of the ways from the franchise headquarters and affiliated merchants mutual growth through win-win cooperation in sharing activities. Next, the dynamic segmentation confidence to suggest the possibility can be broken down over the validity and reliability test for each concept. In addition, by identifying the relationship between the dynamic level of confidence granular multi-dimensional concept, to determine the level of trust with a dynamic relationship between risk and interdependencies can be possible in franchise industries. In order to maintain and develop their mutual relationship, franchise industries should propose confidence-building steps to promote their quality improvement.

Seoul metropolitan has established a vision as 'Healthy water-cycle city' to resolve urban water-environmental deterioration. And it established administrative structure to expand Low Impact Development (LID) facilities to recover aggravated water-cycle and water-environment. Therefore, various LID facilities are constructed and operated, however, benefit analytic plans for systematic valuation are insufficient. In this study, to analyze economic, environmental and social benefits of LID facilities, contents for benefit analysis were selected and categorized as water, energy, air quality and climate changes. As a result of quantification and valuation to the beneficial effects, LID facilities showed the total benefit as 1,191~3,292 won/yr. Characteristics of benefit distribution by analysis contents were various reflecting functional characteristics of each LID facility (Water: 30~90%, Energy: 4~44%, Air quality: <1~2%, Climate change: 5~22%). As a result of Triple Bottom Line analysis, economic benefit showed the greatest portion as 75~90%. As further studies, suggested benefit assessment plans for each LID facility should be applied to inter-connected LID systems on complex-scaled area, and synergy effects by various LID systems would be evaluated such as prevention of heat island and flood disasters.
Constructing attractive bundle offers depends on more than an understanding of the distribution of consumer preferences. Consumers are also sensitive to the framing of price information in a bundle offer. In classical economic theory, consumers' utility should not change as long as the total price paid stays same. However, even when total prices are identical, consumers' preferences toward a bundle product could be different depending on the format of price presentation and the locus of price discount. A weighted additive model predicts that the impact of a price discount on the overall evaluation of the bundle will be greater when the discount is assigned to the more important product in the bundle(Yadav 1995). Meanwhile, a reference dependent model asserts that it is better to assign a price discount to a tie-in component that has a negative valuation at its current offer price than to a focal product that has a positive valuation at its current offer price(Janiszewski and Cunha 2004). This paper has expanded previous research regarding price discount presentation format, investigating the reasons for mixed results of prior research and presenting new mechanisms for price discount framing effect. Prior research has hypothesized that bundling is used to sell a tie-in component with an offer price above the consumer's reference price plus a focal product of the same offer price with reference price(e.g., Janiszewski and Cunha 2004). However, this study suggests that bundling strategy can be used for increasing product's attractiveness through the synergy between components even when offer prices of bundle components are the same with reference prices. In this context, this study employed various realistic bundle sets with same price between offer price and reference price in the experiment. Hamilton and Srivastava(2008) demonstrated that when evaluating different partitions of the same total price, consumers prefer partitions in which the price of the high-benefit component is higher. This study determined that their mechanism can be applied to price discount presentation formats. This study hypothesized that price discount framing effect depends not on the negative perception of tie-in component with offer price above reference price but rather on the consumers' perceived consumption benefit in bundle product. This research also hypothesized that preference for low-benefit discount mechanism is that perceived consumption benefit reduces price sensitivity. Furthermore, this study investigated how consumers' concern for quality in a price discount--a factor not considered in previous research--influences price discount framing. Yadav(1995)'s experiment used only one magazine bundle of relatively low quality uncertainty and could not show the influence of perceived uncertainty of quality. This study assumed that as perceived uncertainty of quality increases, the price sensitivity mechanism for assigning the discount to low-benefit will increase. Further, this research investigated the moderating effect of uncertainty of quality in price discount framing. The results of the experiment showed that when evaluating different partitions of the same total price and the same amount of discounts, the partition that discounts in the price of low benefit component is preferred to the partition that decreases the price of high benefit component. This implies that price discount framing effect depends on the perceived consumption benefit. The results also demonstrated that consumers are more price sensitive to low benefit component and less price sensitive to high benefit component. Furthermore, the results showed that the influence of price discount presentation format on the evaluation of bundle product varies with the perceived uncertainty of quality in high consumption benefit. As perceived uncertainty of quality gradually increases, the preference for discounts in the price of low consumption benefit decreases. Besides, the results demonstrate that as perceived uncertainty of quality gradually increases, the effect of price sensitivity in consumption benefit also increases. This paper integrated prior research by using a new mechanism of perceived consumption benefit and moderating effect of perceived quality uncertainty, thus providing a clearer explanation for price discount framing effect.
In this paper, we suggest a new backorder policy for stockout which is occurred in each regional distribution centers of distribution chain for capital-goods product. In backorder process of backorder policy, minimize expected stockout through the balancing-division module, and has occured stockout is backordering through the emergency supply from central distribution center and regional distribution center. Simulation tests show that our backorder policy is on the decrease of backorder cost and improvement of customer service. Our backorder policy has two important benefit. First, customer service level is improved by realization of minimum stockout. Second, the backorder process by allowance of the same level supply is to decrease system operating cost.
A commodity distribution problem with intertemporal storage facilities and dynamic transportation networks is proposed. mathematical integer programming methods and multiobjective programming techniques are used in the model formulation. Dynamic characteristics of commodity distribution problems are taken into account in the model formulation. storage facility location problems and transportation link addition problems are incorporated into the intertemporal multicommodity distribution problem. The model is capable of generating the most efficient and rational commodity distribution system. Therefore it can be utilized to provided the most effective investment plan for the transportation infrastructure development as well as to evaluate the existing commodity distribution system. The model determines simultaneously the most efficient locations, sizes, and activity levels of storage facilities as well as new highway links. It is extended to multiobjective planning situations for the purpose of generating alternative investment plans in accordance to planning situations. sine the investment in transportation network improvement yields w\several external benefits for a regional economy, the induced benefit maximization objective is incorporated into the cost minimization objective. The multiobjective model generates explicitly the trade-off between cost savings and induced benefits of the investment in transportation network improvement.
The purpose of thin paper is to test difference of the two question formats, open-ended and dichotomous choice formats, in the contingent valuation method using the estimated recreational benefits. The data were collected from the visitors at the Songnisan National Park. The recreational benefit based on the equivalent variation. The two question formats, but the same content, were asked of the same individuals. In this analysis, it was used travel cost and monthly income as the exogenous variables, which assumed a linear functional form for the WTP equation. The model assumed a bivariate normal distribution on the basis of the probit and tobit model concerning the censored zero WTP. The result showed no differences in the recreational benefits from the different question formats under a same respondent. The mean benefit was estimated 25.556 Won per 5 years per visitors.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship that is found to exist between the technology-based self-service convenience orientation factor and the factors of convenience and quality. Research design, data, and methodology - The questionnaire was developed by using the modified and supplementary questions that were examined in previous studies. We used the SPSS/PC 18.0 and lisrel 8.3 statistical packages to analyze the results of the research. For validating the research hypothesis and structural relationship of the research model, path analysis was used in this study. Results - The ease of use exerted a significant influence on the four dimensions. Information had a significant influence on transaction, benefit, and post-benefit convenience. Control had a significant influence on five dimensions. Conclusions - This study suggests that technology-based self-service convenience is classified into five multi-dimensional levels. Further, the study reveals that control, ease of use, and information are important variables in order to increase convenience. Therefore, for improving technology-based self-service convenience, it is important to improve the control, ease of use, and information variables.

The Available Transfer Capability (ATC) is defined as the measure of the transfer capability remaining in the physical transmission network for further commercial activity above already committed uses. The ATC determination s related with Total Transfer Capability (TTC) and two reliability margins-Transmission Reliability Capability (TRM) and Capacity Benefit Margin(CBM) The TRM is the component of ATC that accounts for uncertainties and safety margins. Also the TRM is the amount of transmission capability necessary to ensure that the interconnected network is secure under a reasonable range of uncertainties in system conditions. The CBM is the translation of generator capacity reserve margin determined by the Load Serving Entities. This paper describes a method for determining the TTC and TRM to calculate the ATC in the Bulk power system (HL II). TTC and TRM are calculated using Power Transfer Distribution Factor (PTDF). PTDF is implemented to find generation quantifies without violating system security and to identify the most limiting facilities in determining the network’s TTC. Reactive power is also considered to more accurate TTC calculation. TRM is calculated by alternative cases. CBM is calculated by LOLE. This paper compares ATC and TRM using suggested PTDF with using CPF. The method is illustrated using the IEEE 24 bus RTS (MRTS) in case study.
