중학생의 신념체계가 수학적 문제해결 수행에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Belief Systems on the Problem Solving Performance of the Middle School Students)

  • The primary purpose of the present study is to provide the sources to improve the mathematical problem solving performance by analyzing the effects of the belief systems and the misconceptions of the middle school students in solving the problems. To attain the purpose of this study, the reserch is designed to find out the belief systems of the middle school students in solving the mathematical problems, to analyze the effects of the belief systems and the attitude on the process of the problem solving, and to identify the misconceptions which are observed in the problem solving. The sample of 295 students (boys 145, girls 150) was drawn out of 9th grade students from three middle schools selected in the Kangdong district of Seoul. Three kinds of tests were administered in the present study: the tests to investigate (1) the belief systems, (2) the mathematical problem solving performance, and (3) the attitude in solving mathematical problems. The frequencies of each of the test items on belief systems and attitude, and the scores on the problem solving performance test were collected for statistical analyses. The protocals written by all subjects on the paper sheets to investigate the misconceptions were analyzed. The statistical analysis has been tabulated on the scale of 100. On the analysis of written protocals, misconception patterns has been identified. The conclusions drawn from the results obtained in the present study are as follows; First, the belief systems in solving problems is splited almost equally, 52.95% students with the belief vs 47.05% students with lack of the belief in their efforts to tackle the problems. Almost half of them lose their belief in solving the problems as soon as they given. Therefore, it is suggested that they should be motivated with the mathematical problems derived from the daily life which drew their interests, and the individual difference should be taken into account in teaching mathematical problem solving. Second. the students who readily approach the problems are full of confidence. About 56% students of all subjects told that they enjoyed them and studied hard, while about 26% students answered that they studied bard because of the importance of the mathematics. In total, 81.5% students built their confidence by studying hard. Meanwhile, the students who are poor in mathematics are lack of belief. Among are the students accounting for 59.4% who didn't remember how to solve the problems and 21.4% lost their interest in mathematics because of lack of belief. Consequently, the internal factor accounts for 80.8%. Thus, this suggests both of the cognitive and the affective objectives should be emphasized to help them build the belief on mathematical problem solving. Third, the effects of the belief systems in problem solving ability show that the students with high belief demonstrate higher ability despite the lack of the memory of the problem solving than the students who depend upon their memory. This suggests that we develop the mathematical problems which require the diverse problem solving strategies rather than depend upon the simple memory. Fourth, the analysis of the misconceptions shows that the students tend to depend upon the formula or technical computation rather than to approach the problems with efforts to fully understand them This tendency was generally observed in the processes of the problem solving. In conclusion, the students should be taught to clearly understand the mathematical concepts and the problems requiring the diverse strategies should be developed to improve the mathematical abilities.

  • This study examines the effectiveness of CSR through the expectancy disconfirmation theory. The change of CSR belief after a corporate social irresponsibility (CSIR) crisis was investigated in terms of activity timing (proactive activities before CSIR crisis/reactive activities after CSIR crisis). Study 1 explores the influence of CSR belief perceptions formed through usual CSR activities on CSR belief decline after a CSIR crisis and the moderating effect of CSR activity types. Higher CSR belief perceptions are formed through usual CSR activities that result in a large CSR belief decline. The moderating effect of CSR activity types on CSR belief decline is found. Volunteer activity has the strongest depending effect on CSIR crisis. Study 2 explores the influence of CSR belief perceptions formed through CSIR crisis on a CSR belief incline after CSR activities and the moderating effect of CSR activity types. The lower CSR belief perception after CSIR crisis results in a high CSR belief incline after CSR activities. The moderating effect of CSR activity types on CSR belief incline is found. Cause-related marketing has the strongest overcoming effect on a CSIR crisis.

수리 철학 학습 과정이 예비 초등 교사의 수학적 신념에 미치는 영향 (Influence of a Mathematical Philosophy Course on Preservice Elementary Teachers' Mathematical Beliefs)

  • 교사들의 교수 행동은 그들 신념의 직접적인 영향을 받고 학생들의 신념 체계 형성에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 교원 양성 대학의 교육과정이 예비교사들의 긍정적 신념 체계 형성에 도움을 줄 수 있는가를 경험적으로 살펴보았다. 먼저 신입 예비 교사들의 수학에 대한 신념을 묻는 설문 조사 결과, 신입 예비 교사들의 전체적인 수학에 대한 신념이 다소 긍정적으로 나타났으나 만족할 만한 수준은 아니었다. 그러나 ‘수리 철학’ 강의를 실시한 뒤 나타나는 수학적 신념 변화를 사전-사후 질문지로 분석한 결과, 신입 예비 교사가 수학 교수 학습 방법 등 수학 교육과 관련한 교과목을 이수하지 않은 상황에서도 수학에 대한 신념이 매우 긍정적으로 바뀌었음을 알 수 있었고, 그 중에서도 수리 철학 그 자체의 개념과 가장 부합되는 수학 본질 신념 영역에서 가장 많은 변화를 보여 주었다. 이를 통해 예비 교사들을 대상으로 실시한 수리 철학 강의가 예비 교사들의 수학에 대한 긍정적 신념 체계 형성에 많은 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다.

유아의 다양한 마음 상태에 대한 이해 발달과 과제 유형에 따른 틀린 믿음 이해 (Children's Understanding of Various Mental States and False-Belief by Types of Tasks)

  • This study examined the development of children's theory of mind by types of false-belief tasks and various mental states. Seventy six 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-year olds were asked to infer others' minds or choose other's behaviors. Ten tasks, including two picture book tasks, were used to tap the children's understanding of various mental states. Results showed that children did well in their understanding of diverse perception and desire, but they did poorly in emotional inference based on false-belief, and second order false-belief. Children performed better in picture book tasks than in classical tasks for the understanding of false-belief and false-belief based emotion.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between irrational belief and psychopathology. The Korean version of Symptom Check List-90-R and Irrational Belief Test were administered to 621 high school students in group. The author used Pearson correlation coefficiency and multiple regression analysis to seek the regression patterns of the irrational belief. The results were as follows. 1) Most of the subscales of the SCL-90-R and Irrational Belief Test were correlated significantly. 2) In multiple regression analysis, the irrational belief associated with anxious overconcern was the most predictable variable for psychopathology.

  • Belief revision involves integrating new information with the current belief. It is a ubiquitous human activity. A critical feature of belief revision lies in its sequential nature. Railroad system can be described as organic. Engine drivers take a great role in this system. Recently, Hogarth and Einhorn(1992) have Posited a belief-adjustment model for updating beliefs. Based on a sequential anchoring and adjustment strategy, the model is important fro decision makers. The sequential nature of information processing is affected by some task variables. This will be mainly explained in this paper. The purpose of this study is to examine the engine drivers' belief revision process and factors which influence on the belief revision process. The factors are the order and the experience. Thereby, this will contribute to the study of engine drivers' behavior. The result of this study is summarized as follows. The order effect due to the order of presentation of the evidence exist. The difference of belief revision is due to The experience level.

성별에 따른 고교생의 인유두종 바이러스 백신 접종실태와 관련 건강신념 및 지식의 차이 (Comparison of Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Status, Associated with Health Belief and Knowledge between Male and Female Highschool Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination status associated with HPV health belief and knowledge between male and female highschool students. Methods: In the winter of 2012, 183 students responded to self-administered questionnaires, and t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, and ANOVA were used for data analysis. Results: There were significant differences in the experiences of hearing about HPV vaccination, source of HPV information, experience of being vaccinated with HPV vaccination, reason for HPV unvaccination and vaccination intention by gender. The mean scores for health belief of HPV vaccination were 1.72 (total score: 4) in men and 2.31 in women. There were significant differences in HPV health belief (t=-5.14, p<.001). The mean scores for knowledge of HPV vaccination were 0.08 (total score: 1) in men and 0.12 in women, but there were no significant differences in HPV knowledge (t=-1.62, p=.108). There were positive associations between HPV health belief and knowledge in women (p=.02). Conclusion: This study showed different HPV vaccination status, health belief and knowledge in gender. The results indicate a need to consider levels of health belief and knowledge of HPV vaccination in target populations of highschool students when planning a HPV related education program.

예비유아교사의 일터영성신념 척도 개발 (Development of the Workplace Spirituality Belief Scale for Prospective Early Childhood Teacher)

  • The aim of the study was to develop the scale for measuring prospective teacher's belief on workplace spirituality. The researchers revised the 'Workplace Spirituality Scale for Early Childhood Teacher (Lim, 2014)' into the draft of 'Workplace Spirituality Belief for Prospective Early Childhood Teacher (WSBS_PECT)' and then validated the draft of WSBS_PECT statistically. The data were collected from 664 prospective teachers participating 5 early childhood teacher programs. EFA, CFA, Correlations and some statistical methods were carried out for testing validity and reliability of the scale. As a result, the WSBS_PECT with 21 items of 4 factors - i.e. 'awareness of meaning of life', 'belief on calling for ECE teacher job', 'belief on relationships in community', and 'belief on membership in community'- was developed and identified as a available measurement for prospective childhood teachers.

영적건강과 정신건강과 기독교 신앙성숙간의 관계

  • This study was designed to test the correlation among spiritual health, mental health and maturation of christian belief of nursing students and to provide baseline data for nursing education in college. The subject were 222 nursing students at one college in Incheon area. Min's(1996) spiritual health scale, Gou's(1989)mental health scale and Choe's(1987) maturation of christian belief scale were used in this research for data collection. The results of this study are as follows: 1.Nursing students who have belief in religion were 65.3% include Protestant(42.3%), Catholic(15.3%) and Buddhism(7.7%). 2.The mean score on the spiritual heath scale was 3.48±0.64, on the mental health scale was 3.67±0.54 and on the maturation of christian belief scale was 3.24±0.52. 3.Spiritual health between the nursing students who have belief in religion and who have not were noted statistically significant differences(F=65.33, P=0.000). 4.There were positively significant correlation between spiritual health and mental health(r=0.506, P=0.000), spiritual health and maturation of christian belief(r=0.599, P=0.000) and mental health and maturation of christian belief(r=0.280, P=0.003).

Plane-converging Belief Propagation을 이용한 고속 스테레오매칭 (Fast Stereo matching based on Plane-converging Belief Propagation using GPU)

  • 스테레오 매칭은 두 영상의 차이를 이용하여 거리를 추정하는 연구 분야로 성능 개선과 함께 처리속도 향상을 위한 연구가 계속되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 계층적 Belief Propagation(BP) 알고리즘을 개선하여 기존의 BP에서의 수렴구간을 메시지 맵으로 만들고 이를 이용하여 처리속도를 향상시키는 Plane-converging BP 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또한 GPU 아키텍쳐인 Nvidia의 CUDA를 이용하여 다수의 계산을 병렬화 하고 이를 동시에 처리하여 실시간 어플리케이션에 적합한 스테레오 매칭 기법을 개발하였다. Plane-converging BP 알고리즘은 기존의 계층적 BP 알고리즘과 유사한 에러율을 가지면서 약 2.7배의 속도 향상을 이루었다.
