  • This study identified the health, academic attainment, violence and abuse factors on predicting the conduct development and emotional symptoms in 'looked after children' placement. A sample of 1,543 children was interviewed regarding emotional and behavioral symptoms and risk factors. Logistic regression was used to assess whether selected variables predicted emotional and behavioral symptoms in 'looked after children'. All placement, health, academic, violence, and abuse factors differentiated behavioral and emotional symptom differences according to selected variables. Binary logistic regression indictors of conduct behavior symptom among 'looked after children', included gender, age, placement, health, violence, and abuse. Placement, health, reading ability, violence, and witnessing domestic violence further predicted emotional and behavioral symptoms. These findings highlight multidimensional approaches to address various vulnerability indicators that have a direct application to prevention and intervention efforts to designed for emotional and behavioral problems among children in public care.

  • Purpose - This study is an effort to assess the role of behavioral biases in investment decision making, specifically for mutual funds, and the moderating role of the investor. Individual investment behavior is concerned with choices about purchasing various securities. However, behavioral finance disputes the concept of perfect rationality and identifies psychological factors and their impact on decision-making. Research design, data, and methodology - A survey questionnaire was designed and used to collect responses using a judgmental sampling technique from 290 investors in the Gwalior Region. Cronbach's Alpha, factor analysis, and linear regression were all used to test the influence of behavioral biases on investment decision. Results - We found that the behavioral biases have a positive impact on investment decisions. Conclusions - This study's results identified three factors influencing investor behavior(rationale, investment skills, and profit making) and four factors influencing investor decisions (profit maker, market analysis, investment plan, seller). The overall results of the study also show that there is no significant relationship between investor behavior and investment decisions by gender in the market.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify factors predicting sick-role behavioral compliance in hemodialysis patients. Methods: The subjects were 133 patients from outpatient dialysis clinics at seven major general hospitals located in D and P cities. Data were collected by self-report questionnaires. For data analysis, SPSS/WIN 14.0 program was utilized including one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: This study showed a positive correlation between sick-role behavioral compliance and social support (r=.29 p<.001), knowledge (r=.31 p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.52, p<.001) and age (r=.21, p=.015). The factors predicting sick-role behavioral compliance were self-efficacy (${\beta}$=.46), knowledge (${\beta}$=.25), and age (${\beta}$=.18). These factors accounted for 36% of the variance of sick-role behavioral compliance in hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: The results indicate that it is necessary to increase self-efficacy and knowledge in order to improve sick-role behavioral compliance in hemodialysis patients.

The subjects of this study were 287 ICU nurses in 21 general hospitals with at least 200 beds at Taegu, Pusan and Kyungbuk area in Korea. The results of this study were : 1. There were significant differences in intention according to age and marnital status, attitude according to educastion(with indirect measure), subjective norm according to career in ICU(with both measures), perceived behavioral control according to age and career in ICU(with direct measure), and knowledge according to education and position. 2. There were significant correlations among intention and all factors. Intention was correlated with attitude(r=.2119), subjective norm(r=.1112), and perceived behavioral control(r=.3448) with direct measure. Attitude was correlated with subjective norm(r=.2530), perceived behavioral control(r=.3005), and knowledge(r=.1388) with direct measure. Subjective norm was correlated with perceived behavioral control(r=.1321) with direct measure. Intention was correlated with attitude(r=.1496) and perceived behavioral control(r=.2922) with indirect measure. Attitude was correlated with subjectivenorm(r=.2829) and knowledge(r=-.1390) with indirect measure. Also, subjective norm was correlated with perceived behavioral control(r=.2363) with indirect measure. 3. ICU nurses' intention to use restraints was explained 16.7% by perceived behavioral control, attitude with direct measure, control belief, and age. By this study, it was foundr that ICU nurses reported high level of intention to use restraints. The most important predictor of intention to use restraints was perceived behavioral control toward using restrains, which reflected the easiness and difficulty in the use of restraints.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore structural relationship between cognitive factors and emotional factors in predicting behavioral intention of duty-free users. This study conducted questionnaire survey on 246 users of duty-free shops and analyzed it by using structural equation. As the result of the study, attitude was significantly associated with both desire and behavioral intention. Subjective norm had a significant impact on desire, but had no significant imfact on behavioral intention. Whereas perceived behavioral control did not have a significant influence on desire and intention. Desire, which plays mediating role as a major variable in goal-directed behavioral model, turned out to not only have significant impact on behavioral intention but has the strongest effect as well. This study has its academic meaning in that it explored factors which have effect on decision-making process of duty-free users focusing on goal-oriented behavioral model, which is one of integrated psychological models. In practical terms, this study can be used as a basic material for corporations to establish goals in domestic duty-free shops.
