유아의 문제행동과 또래괴롭힘 피해의 관계에 대한 교사-유아 관계의 조절효과 (The Moderating Effect of Teacher-Child Relationship on the Relation between Problem Behavior and Peer Victimization)

  • This study examined the moderating role of teacher-child relationship on the relation between children's problem behavior and peer victimization. Participants were 198 children(97 boys, 101 girls; recruited from classes with 5-6 year olds) and their kindergarten teachers. The teachers completed the rating scales to measure the children's peer victimization, problem behavior and teacher-child relationship. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, correlations, and hierarchical multiple regressions. Boys and girls were analyzed separately. Results showed that children's problem behavior had positive relation to their peer victimization. Teacher-child relationship significantly related to children's peer victimization. Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that the interaction of boys' withdrawal behavior and teacher-child closeness predicted boy's peer victimization. Boys' withdrawal behavior, whose teachers demonstrated the lowest level of teacher-child closeness, associated significantly with their peer victimization. Boys' withdrawal and aggressive behavior had significant relation to their peer victimization, especially for the highest level of teacher-child conflictual relationship. Findings suggested the importance of teacher-child relationship in the context of intervention planning for peer victimization.

  • Data were collected from 392 4th and 6th grade students by questionnaires and analyzed by Pearson's correlation, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. More problem behavior was reported by 4th than by 6th graders and by boys than by girls; the gender difference was larger in 4th than 6th graders. Low school satisfaction, authoritative parenting, male gender, and higher age predicted problem behavior. Within group variables that predicted problem behavior were low authoritative parenting, low school satisfaction. Male gender, and low self-control in the 4th graders ; low self-control and school satisfaction in the 6th graders; low authoritative parenting and school satisfaction in girls ; and low school satisfaction, higher age, and low self-control in boys.

부모의 감독정도와 청소년의 자기통제력이 청소년의 문제행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Parental Monitoring and Adolescents' Self-Control on Adolescents' Problem Behavior)

  • The purposes of this study were to show general trends in the degree of parental monitoring, self-control and problem behavior perceived by adolescents and to examine possible changes in such trends in accordance with gender of adolescents and mother's employment, and then to determine the effects of these variables on adolescents' problem behavior. The subjects were 1288 adolescents of middle school in Busan (male 661, female 627). The main results were as follow. (1) General trends in the degree of internalizing problems and total behavior problems showed that girls had more problem behaviors than boys. (2) Boys and girls with unemployed mother perceived more parental monitoring than ones with employed mothers. Boys with unemployed mother had more self-control than ones with employed mothers. Boys with employed mother showed more problem hehaviors than ones with unemployed mother. (3) Mother's employment, the degree of parental monitoring and self-control had a significant indirect effect on internalizing problems, externalizing problems and total behavior problems. (4) The degree of self-control was the most powerful predicator of problem behaviors of middle school students.

북한이탈 청소년의 문제행동과 문화변용정체성에 관한 연구 (Problem behaviors, Cultural Identity and Acculturation of North Korean Refugee Youth)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of problem behaviors, cultural identity and acculturation of North Korean (NK) refugee youth and to suggest an appropriate approach for helping them to adjust to our society based on these findings. Methods: The subjects were 117 NK adolescent refugees in Hanawon. Data were collected by a demographic questionnaire, Youth Self Report (YSR), the South-North Korean cultural identity. Results: Problem behaviors of NK refugee youth were the highest in anxiety/depression and withdrawal behavior and were followed by internalized behavior, aggressiveness, overall problem behavior, externalized behavior, delinquency and positive behavior in that order. Acculturation was the highest in 'separation' followed by 'integration', 'assimilation' and 'marginalization' in that order. No significant relationship was found between acculturation types and problem behaviors except positive behavior. Conclusion: This study provides some important information that we have to develop specific strategies and interventions primarily focused on withdrawal, anxiety/depression, and internalization for the adjustment and mental health of NK refugee youth. It is necessary to explore further research related to cultural identity, acculturation processes, and the correlation between acculturation types and problem behaviors.

초등학교 아동의 부모애착과 친구애착이 남녀 청소년 비행에 미치는 영향 : 문제행동과 비행친구 유무의 매개효과 (The Effects of Parental and Peer Attachment in Elementary School Children on Early Adolescent Delinquency : The Mediating Role of Problem Behavior and Delinquent Peers)

  • This study examined the effects of parental attachment and peer attachment in elementary school children upon early adolescent delinquency. The participants were 2,844 taken from data from the Korean Youth Panel Survey (KYPS). Data from secondary questionnaires data on parent and peer attachment, problem behavior, delinquent peers, and delinquency were used for this study. Data were analyzed by means of a Structural Equation Model using AMOS 5.0. Our results indicated that, firstly, parental attachment was negatively related to problem behavior for both male and female adolescents, whereas peer attachment was positively related to problem behavior only for males, but not for females. Secondly, problem behavior in childhood has a direct effect on adolescent delinquency, which also can be indirectly mediated by contact with delinquent peers. In conclusion, the path model from parental and peer attachment in early childhood to adolescent delinquency was supported only in the case of males.

  • In this study of the influence of marital conflict and of children's temperament and emotion regulation on problem behavior, 194 mothers of 3- to 5-year-old children responded to the O'Leary- Poter Scale(1980), the Emotionality, Activity and Shyness scale(Buss & Plomin, 1984) and the Emotion Regulation Checklist(Shields & Cicchetti, 1997); teachers rated children's behavior on the Problem Behavior Questionnaire(Behar & Stringfield, 1974). Data were analyzed by independent t-tests, correlations, and multiple regressions. Results demonstrated that shyness, activity, and emotion regulation had direct effects on hostile-aggressive behaviors. Shy temperament had a direct effect on fearful-anxious behavior. Both marital conflict and temperament influenced hostile-aggressive behaviors indirectly through emotion regulation, implying a crucial role of emotion regulation in preschoolers' social development.

범이론과 여가모형을 적용한 절주프로그램이 문제음주행위와 인지에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Drinking-Reduction Program Adopting Transtheoretical and Leisure Models on Problem Drinking Behavior and Cognition)

  • Purpose: This study is to examine the effects of the drinking-reduction program that utilizes transtheoretical model and leisure ability model on the problem drinking behavior, alcohol outcome expectancy, and abstinence self-efficacy of. problem drinkers at workplaces. Method: The subjects consisted of 54 male problem drinkers who scored over 12 points in the AUDIT-K with 23 persons in the experimental group and 31 persons in the control group. The research results were analyzed using the SAS program with Chi-square test, t-test, repeated ANOVA, and post-hoc comparison. Results: 1) The experimental group showed a significantly lower score in problem drinking behavior than the control group. 2) The experimental group showed a significantly lower score in alcohol outcome expectancy than the control group. 3) The experimental group showed a significantly higher score in abstinence self-efficacy than the control group. Conclusion: These results demonstrate that the drinking-reduction program effectively reduces the drinking behavior of problem drinkers at workplaces, reduces alcohol outcome expectancy, and enhances abstinence self-efficacy. Accordingly, it is considered that a drinking-reduction program can be a useful nursing intervention method for problem drinkers at workplaces to reduce drinking and improve the quality of life.

대학생의 사회적지지 및 사회심리적 스트레스와 음주 후 문제행동과의 관련성 (Correlation between Social Support & Psychosocial Stress and Problem Behavior after Consuming Alcohol among College Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to verify correlation between social support & psychosocial stress and drinking behavior after consuming alcohol among college students. Methods: This study surveyed by questionnaire 440 students who consumed alcohol regularly from 36 colleges around the country in 2014. Data were analyzed using the program SPSS 21. Results: The effects of social support on problem behavior after drinking and psychosocial stress had significant influence with each path coefficient -0.178(CR= -3.408, p<0.001) and -0.294(CR= -6.195, p<0.001). Also, the effects of psychosocial stress on problem behavior after drinking had significant influence with path coefficient -0.141(CR= -2.858, p<0.05). Social support had significant influence(p<0.001) on problem behavior after drinking through psychosocial stress, serving as a mediator variable, and social support had significant influence on problem behavior after drinking through psychosocial stress. Conclusions: Problem behavior after consuming alcohol held strong relevance in social support and psychosocial stress.

Effects of Slime Program on Hand Function and Problem Behavior of Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of training using the slime on the hand function and problem behavior in adults with intellectual disabilities. Methods: Five adults with intellectual disabilities who were judged as Level 1 or Level 2 were selected. The training consisted of one session (50 min)/day, one day/week for 10 weeks (preparatory activities: 5 min, slime activities: 40 min, finishing activities: 5 min) The functions of the hand (Purdue Pegboard Test [PPT], grip strength test [GST]) and problem behavior (Korean Behavior Problems Inventory [KBPI]) were assessed three times (first assessment; pre, second assessment; post-5 weeks, third assessment; post-10 weeks). Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used to analyze changes in the subjects' performance before and after the intervention. Results: In the PPT, the use of the non-dominant hand was increased significantly (p<0.05). No significant differences were observed in the remaining results, but the mean value increased. In addition, although the problem behavior was not statistically significant, an increase in the problem behavior score was noted. Conclusion: The training using the slime for adults with intellectual disabilities is effective in hand function improvement and reducing problem behavior.

여대생의 음주동기, 생활스트레스, 문제음주행위 (Drinking Motivation, Daily Stress, and Problem Drinking Behavior of Female University Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 여자대학생의 음주동기, 생활스트레스, 문제음주행위의 관계를 알아보고 음주동기와 생활스트레스가 문제음주행위에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위함이다. 자료수집은 충북 Y군에 위치한 일개 4년제 대학에 여대생을 대상으로 편의 추출하였다. 대상자는 259명으로 연구목적을 설문에 동의한 자를 대상으로 구조화된 설문지로 조사하였다. 사용한 도구는 일반적특성, 음주동기, 생활스트레스, 문제음주행위이다. 수집된 자료는 IBMSPSS/WIN 19.0을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Stepwise regression으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 대상자의 문제음주 행위에 영향을 미치는 요인은 음주동기(t=8.904, p<.001), 주거형태(t=3.624, p<.001), 흡연여부(t=2.065, p=.040) 로 구성되었으며 35.7%의 설명력을 보였다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 향후 여대생의 문제음주행위를 예방할 수 있는 중재프로그램 개발이 필요할 것을 알 수 있었다.
