  • The thermal deformation of machine tool spindle influences the performance of the manufacturing systems for precision products. According to previous studies, major factors that will affect the stiffness of the spindle include spindle diameter, elasticity of the material, bearing stiffness and bearing span. It is difficult to change spindle diameter or elasticity of the material. but change of bearing position is easy in the given range compared to other factors. In this paper, we will find a solution to minimize thermal deformation through Change the span of the bearing.

  • Colossal magnetoresistance is closely related to (but is not) the abrupt change of electrical resistivity in the vicinity of Curie temperature, which is caused by the temperature dependent paramagnetic-ferromagnetic phase transition and concurrent change of electrical conducting mechanism. A resistivity-temperature equation is presented to fully describe the overall behavior, especially the abrupt change. The main ingredients of the equation are a simple effective media theory and a function for the temperature dependent fraction of ferromagnetic phase. The model fits very well to the measured resistivity-temperature curve of $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$.

  • While prior work has conducted individuals' password security behavior, there is a relatively neglect to examine individuals' affect and feelings of password fatigue in password change context. Therefore, this study explicated individuals' affective response to the feelings of password fatigue by drawing on several theoretical lens. Survey data collected from 267 users were used to test the model using partial least square analysis. This study found that feelings of password fatigue positively affected the negative password fatigue-induced affect, and also both the feelings of password fatigue and the negative password fatigue-induced affect were negatively related to attitude toward changing passwords, which in turn, leads to the intention to change passwords. Furthermore, this study found that shadow work recognition negatively moderated the relationship between attitude and behavioral intention. This study could offer a new theoretical perspective to understand an individual's security behavior and provide empirical evidences for practitioners in charge of IT security in organizations.

  • This research explores the appropriate rubber pricing model and the consistent empirical evidence. This model has been derived from the utility function and firm profit-maximization model of commodity goods. The finding shows that the period t - 1 affects expected commodity price and expected profit of commodity production. In fact, a change in the world price of rubber in the past period led to a change in the expected price of rubber in the short run which influenced the expected rubber profit. As a result, the past-period free on board price has an entirety effect on expected farm price of rubber given an exchange rate. In addition, the rubber pricing model indicates that the profit of local farmer on rubber plant depends solely on the world price of rubber in the short run in case of Thailand. In an empirical study, it was found that a change in the price of ribbed smoke sheet 3 in Singapore Commodity Exchange significantly and positively determined the fluctuation of rubber price at the farm gate in Thailand which was consistent with the behavior of the Thai farmers. Both prices are also cointegrated in the long run. That is, the result states that the VECM is an appropriated pricing model for forecasting the farm price in Thailand.

  • Bridges are exposed to constantly changing weather conditions and temperature. The temperature change is induced by a change in atmospheric temperature and solar radiation. Atmospheric temperature change acts on the whole structure. Thus, it is relatively easy to consider in the design. Solar radiation, however, causes un-uniform temperature distribution in the structure, depending on the shape of the structure and its shadows. Un-uniform temperature distribution causes a torsional moment in bridge section and a deformation of bridge. A deformation can make differences of dynamic and static behavior of bridge. In this study, the method for analysis of static and dynamic behavior considering deformation and changes of material properties due to temperature variation was developed. By this method, it is found from dynamic analysis results that the change of frequency in analysis model is similar with test results of public used cable-stayed bridge. When a temperature goes down, a frequency goes up. And it is found that the change of frequency is affected by the change of material properties.

  • Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to investigate that the stages of change in smoking cessation behavior among coronary artery disease patients for six months progressed following the stages of change suggested by the transtheoretical model. Method: Subjects for this descriptive survey were 59 coronary disease patients who were smoking or who had stopped smoking for less than six months. Result: In the baseline, the distribution of the subjects’ stages of change was as follows: pre-contemplation stage 25.4%, contemplation stage 25.4%, preparation stage 22%, and action stage 27.1%. After six months, more subjects in the contemplation(33.3%) and preparation stages(30.8%) progressed to the action stage than those of the pre-contemplation stage(0%). Eighty-one percent of the subjects in the action stage at baseline progressed to the maintenance stage. The relationship between the numbers of smoking cessation attempts for six months and stages of change at baseline was significant(p=.001). However, the relationships between self-efficacy and nicotine dependence at baseline and progression in stages of change after six months were not significant. Conclusion: Progression in the stages of change for six months among subjects corresponded to the stages of change suggested by the transtheoretical model. Hence, future development and evaluation of intervention programs should be tailored individually considering each patient's stage of change.

  • This study the efficiency of greenhouse gas reduction of 'low carbon car collaboration fund' and its alternative 'control of average fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas', and 'improving driving behavior' were analyzed by using LEAP, long term energy analysis model. Total 4 scenarios were set, baseline scenario, without energy-saving activity, 'low carbon car collaboration fund' scenario, 'fuel efficiency improving scenario', and 'improving driving behavior' scenario. The contents of analysis were forecast of energy demand by scenario and application as well as reduction of greenhouse gas emission volume, and the period taken for analysis was every 1 year during 2015~2030. Baseline scenario, greenhouse gas emission volume in 2015 would be 7,935,697 M/T and 13,081,986 M/T in 2030, increased 64.8%. The analysis result was average annual increase rate of 3.4%. The expected average annual increase rate of other scenarios was, 'low carbon car collaboration fund' scenario 1.7%, 'fuel efficiency improving' scenario 3.0%. and 'improving driving behavior' scenario 3.4%. and these were each 1.7%, 0.3%. 0.3% reduce from baseline scenario. The largest reduction was 'low carbon car collaboration fund' scenario, and there after were 'fuel efficiency improving scenario', and 'improving driving behavior' scenario.

  • A fuzzy driver model based on a preview-predictor and yaw rate is developed. The model is used to investigate the handling performance of two wheel steering system(2WS) and four wheel steering system(4WS) vehicles. The two degree-of- freedom model which has yaw and lateral motion predicts the path of the vehicles. Based upon the yaw rate and lateral deviations, the fuzzy engine describes the human driver's complicated control behavior which is adjusted for the driving environment. Both typical single lane change maneuver and double lane change maneuver are adopted to demonstrate the feasibility of fuzzy driver model.

  • In this study, the behavior of dredged soil was measured by repeated tide and analyzed the change of settlements and cone penetration resistance by centrifuge model about dredged soil of Kunsan-Janghang site that maximum tidal range is 7.4m. Consequently the settlements of dredged soil by repeated tide in the 2nd month was 0.489 m. After 12th month, the total settlements was 0.524 m in the model. It meaned the settlements of dredged soil by repeated tide in the 2th month was 80% of the settlements. Also, with the lapse of time, cone penetration resistance increased centrifuge model test for catching the strength change of dredged soil by repeated tide. After 10th month, there were not almost changes. cone penetration resistance in 10th month was measured more 3.5~5.6 times than that in its early stages. Also, with the lapse of time, cone penetration resistance increased almost linearly. And, when we surveyed the relation between cone penetration resistance and time, as depth increased, cone penetration resistance rose.

  • In this study, a dynamic modeling scheme is presented to describe the probabilistic structure of soil water and plant water stress index under stochastic precipitation conditions. The proposed model has the form of the Fokker-Planck equation, and its applicability as a model for the probabilistic evolution of the soil water and plant water stress index is investigated under a climate change scenario. The simulation results of soil water confirm that the proposed soil water model can properly reproduce the observations and show that the soil water behaves with consistent cycle based on the precipitation pattern. The simulation results of plant water stress index show two different PDF patterns according to the precipitation. The simple impact assessment of climate change to soil water and plant water stress is discussed with Korean Meteorological Administration regional climate model.
