  • Nowadays, ultrasound Doppler imaging is widely used in assessing cardiovascular functions in the human body. However, a major drawback of ultrasonic Doppler methods is that they can provide information on blood flow velocity along the ultrasound beam propagation direction only. Thus, the blood flow velocity is estimated differently depending on the angle between the ultrasound beam and the flow direction. In order to overcome this limitation, there have been many researches devoted to estimating both axial and lateral velocities. The purpose of this article is to survey various two-dimensional velocity estimation methods in the context of Doppler imaging. Some velocity vector estimation methods can also be applied to determine tissue motion as required in elastography. The discussion is mainly concerned with the case of estimating a two-dimensional in-plane velocity vector involving the axial and lateral directions.

  • A method of finding the optimal actuator location for efficient control of the modes of interest is presented. The proposed approach relies on certain quantitive measure of degree of controllability based on the controllability grammian. This measure proves to be useful for regulating problem of the undamped system and can be extended to cover the tracking problem of the viscous damped system. The example of the uniform cantilever beam is given to verify the effectiveness of the method.

  • The F!T tube is a new type of CRT without a shadow mask. Correct color reproduction is performed by an electronic system that measures the landing positions of the electron beams and corrects through a dedicated deflection system. This paper describes in detail the position sensor and some of the electronics needed to build a functional control system. The principle has been shown in single- and triple-beam 17" and 32" tubes, of which results are included.

  • The paper concerns a room-temperature cross-bar H-mode (CH) drift tube linac (DTL) with KONUS (Kombinierte Null Grad Struktur) [1,2] beam dynamics. To make the acceleration in DTL cell more efficient, we studied the correlation between transit time factor (TTF) and structural coefficients, first. Furthermore, we developed a new code with Python to demonstrate the longitudinal dynamics more clearly. The code computationally generates clusters, bunch centers, and emittance growth in a single figure. Thus, the stabilization region and cluster evolution at various negative phases can be studied. Based on the above studies, we designed a 162.5 MHz CH-DTL to accelerate 10 mA D+ from 2.11 MeV to 3.25 MeV in continuous-wave (CW) mode. The proposed CH-DTL is a part of the Middle Energy Neutron Source (MENS). The dynamics and RF design were iterated to make the gap voltage error lower than 1 %. The initial beam is assumed to come from a Radio Frequency Quadrupole accelerator (RFQ). The geometries of the CH-DTL are optimized by using CST. Multiparticle tracking from LEBT to RFQ is performed with TraceWin and the transmission efficiency in the CH-DTL is 100 %.

  • Multi-target X-ray tube is a new type X-ray source, and can be applied in many fields such as sensitive X-ray fluorescence analysis and medical imaging. In this work, we report an electric field modulation multi-target X-ray tube, which contains four targets (Cr, Ni, Au, Mo) coated on a Beryllium (Be) window. A four-valve electric field deflector was developed to deflect the electron beam to bombard the corresponding targets. Particle dynamics analysis software was employed to simulate the particle tracking of electron beam. The results show that the 30 keV electron beam could get a 6.7 mm displacement on the target plane by 105 V/m electric field. The focus areas are about 2 mm × 5 mm and 4 mm × 2.5 mm after deflection in two directions. Thermal behavior calculated by ANSYS shows that the designed target assembly could withstand a 10 W continuous power. The optimum target thicknesses and emission spectra were obtained by Geant4 when the thickness of Be window was 300 mm and the electron beam incident angle was 0.141 rad. The results indicate that this multi-target X-ray tube could provide different X-ray sources effectively.

  • The phased array antenna has the ability to perform adaptive sampling by directing the radar beam without inertia in any direction. The adaptive sampling capability of the phased array antenna allows each sampling time interval to be varied for each target, depending on the acceleration of each target at any time. In this paper we design a three-dimensional adaptive tracking algorithm for the phased array radar system with a given set of measurement parameters. The tracking algorithm avoids taking unnecessarily frequent samples, while keeping the angular prediction error within a fraction of antenna beamwidth so that the probability of detection will not be degraded during a track update illuminations. In our algorithm, the target model and the sampling rate are selected depending on the target range and the target maneuver status which is determined by a maneuver detector. A detailed simulation is conducted to test the validity of our tracking algorithm for encounter geometries under various conditions of maneuver.

  • To efficiently manage forest resources, it is essential to deploy multiple unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with various sensors simultaneously. Consequently, the ground control station antenna should not only maintain continuous tracking of the target station but also minimize the impact of radio interference on other unmanned aerial vehicle stations. In this paper, we presented beam forming techniques based on the VPR algorithm within a ground control station constructed using a phased array antenna system. Through simulation experiments in diverse unmanned aerial vehicle operating environments, it was demonstrated that the presented method enables not only the continuous tracking of operational unmanned aerial vehicles but also the suppression of radio interference by establishing a continuous pattern null for multiple operational radio interference sources.

  • Digital retrodirective antenna system is easy to modify and upgrade because it can control the phase information of the output signal toward opposite direction to input signal without a priori knowledge of the arrival direction. Due to this advantage, it is possible to do fast beam tracking. Especially, we need to design the digital PLL performance for the digital retrodirective array antenna system. So, in this paper the settling time of phase estimator and BER performance of retrodirective antenna system are investigated according to design of filter in digital PLL. When QAM signal is used for 1 Mbps with $30^{\circ}$ of phase delay, simulation results show that digital phase conjugation technique has better BER performance by about 1 dB than non-phase conjugation system when digital filter is stable. If not, the system can't estimate the exact phase because of oscillation of filter.

  • This paper describes the development and measurement results of C-band planar active phase array antenna for detecting and tracking radar(weapon-locating radar). The antenna is designed with 14 sub-arrays(12 main channels and 2 sidelobe blanking channels and approximately 3,000 elements of transmit-receive channel) to generate transmit and digital receive patterns. Using a near-field measurements facility, G/N, transmit patterns, and received patterns are measured. Receive patterns are implemented with digital beamforming by signal processing. The measurement results demonstrate that antenna design specifications were fulfilled.
