  • This study deals with the spinning impact on flap-wise vibration characteristics of nonlocal functionally graded (FG) cylindrical beam based on the Hyperbolic shear deformation beam theory. The nonlocal strain gradient theory is used to investigate the small-scale impact on the nonlocal motion equation as well as corresponding nonlocal boundary conditions. Based on the mathematical simulation and according to the Hamilton principle, the computerized modeling of a rotating functionally graded nanotube is generated, and then, via a numerical approach, the obtained mathematical equations are solved. The calculated outcomes are helpful to the production of Nano-electro-mechanical-systems (NEMS) by investigating some designed parameters such as rotating speed, hub radius, length-scale parameters, volume fraction parameters, etc.

  • To investigate factors influencing the effective width of. SRC column-steel beam joint resisting the moment as strut, six specimens are designed and tested. Parameters in the test are column width, beam height and horizontal tie within beam depth. From the test, using either wide column width or ties, strength and stiffness of joint were developed. The lower beam height the specimens showed the lower moment.

  • This study presents the stress evaluation equations of circular column-box beam connection in steel frame piers. FEM analysis were carried out for circular column-box beam connection. Analysis models were made for design parameters such as joint angle, span length-width ratio(L/B), sectional-area ratio(S=A/sub w/A/sub f/), and circular column-box beam stiffness ratio(Ic/Ib). Analysis results were compared to the existing equation. Based on analysis results the stress evaluation equations of circular column-box beam connection are proposed by regression analysis.

  • A large diameter plasma filled backward wave oscillator is investigated experimentally. The parameters of slow wave structure are chosen so that the oscillation frequency is high beam energy. Plasma is produced by the beam and it has favorable effects on beam propagation and Cerenkov oscillation.

  • An analytical simulation of the flexural behavior of SFRC beam has been illustrated. Curvature distributions and crack opening in critical region were taken into account. Compressive and tensile constitutive models which express post-peak behavior of SFRC with stress-crack opening relationships were incorporated in simulating nonlinear flexural behavior of the beam. The model was able to predict test results with reasonable accuracy. Behavior of the critical section and effects of different factors m the flexural behavior of SFRC beam were investigated. Simple observation and statistical approach have been made in selecting most influential parameters in flexural behavior of SFRC.

  • In this article, we presents multi-objective design optimization of laminated composite beam using Fuzzy programming method. At first, the two design objectives are minimizing the structural weight and maximizing the buckling load respectively. Fuzzy multi-optimization problem can be formulated based on results of single optimizations. Due to different relative importance of design objectives, membership functions are constructed by adding exponential parameters for different objective's weights. Finite element analysis of composite beam for buckling behavior are carried by Natural mode method proposed by J.Argyris and computational time of analysis can be reduced. With this scheme, a designer can conveniently obtain a compromise optimal solution of a multi-objective optimization problem only by providing some exponential parameters corresponding to the importance of the objective functions.

  • Increases in strength and ductilities of steel fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC) under direct tension and compression result in improvements of flexural behavior of reinforced steel fibrous concrete beam(RSFCB) Use of hooked steel fibers in stead of round steel fibers enhances futher the structural porperties of a beam due to their greater mechanical bond resistance compared to that of round steel fibers. Flexural strength, initial stiffness ductility and failure mechani는 of RSFCB are dependent upon material and structural parameters and among which are the volume fraction of fibers, reinforcement ratio, and casting depth of SFRC in a beam section. The flexural behavior of RSFCB's are examined experimentally in this study and some conclusions are made regarding those effects of main material and structural parameters on the overall behavior of RSFCB.

  • A linearly tapered beam immersed partially in other material is considered and is modelled as a linearly tapered Bernoulli-Euler beam fixed at the bottom with a concentrated mass at the top. Its governing equations is derived and its free vibration analysis is performed for various boundary conditions. And the rotatory inertia of the eccentric lumped tip mass is considered. The problem of determining the natural frequencies leads to an eighth order determinant. The solutions of the frequency equations are obtained numerically. The non-dimensional frequency parameters are given in tabular form and the influence of non-dimensional parameters on natural frequency is discussed for various conditions.

  • In this paper, based on first-order shear deformation theory, the governing equations of motion for a sandwich curved beam including an elastic core and two piezo-magnetic face-sheets are presented. The curved beam model is resting on Pasternak's foundation and subjected to applied electric and magnetic potentials on the piezo-magnetic face-sheets and transverse loading. The five equations of motion are analytically solved and the bending and vibration results are obtained. The influence of important parameters of the model such as direct and shear parameters of foundation and applied electric and magnetic potentials are studied on the electro-mechanical responses of the problem. A comparison with literatures was performed to validate our formulation and results.
