  • In the game balancing. it is so difficult to choose suitable arms among various actions, or arms and to accurately calculate to which level we adjust the balance. The fuzzy method can be properly used in a particular environment which cannot be correctly processed in mathematics or in lessening the time-consuming problems during the accurate number crunching. Because a variety of actions, relations with opponents. previous battle experiences etc. are not easy to be reflected in every occasion, the fuzzy method could be useful in these cases. When the balancing is needed. the data which have been played to that Point are processed by the fuzzy function and calculated to adapt intensity to each action. The ability of characters is regulated in this process. To demonstrate the efficiency of this method. I would like to make clear the excellence of fuzzy method through the following five experiments; a case with invariable ability adjustment, a case adjusted by a randomly chosen action, a case with the strongest weapon selection. a case with the weakest weapon selection and a case with the fuzzy method application.

  • This study analyzed military personnel survivability in regards to offensive operations according to the scientific military training data of a reinforced infantry battalion. Scientific battle training was conducted at the Korea Combat Training Center (KCTC) training facility and utilized scientific military training equipment that included MILES and the main exercise control system. The training audience freely engaged an OPFOR who is an expert at tactics and weapon systems. It provides a statistical analysis of data in regards to state-of-the-art military training because the scientific battle training system saves and utilizes all training zone data for analysis and after action review as well as offers training control during the training period. The methodologies used the Cox PH modeling (which does not require parametric distribution assumptions) and decision tree modeling for survival data such as CART, GUIDE, and CTREE for richer and easier interpretation. The variables that violate the PH assumption were stratified and analyzed. Since the Cox PH model result was not easy to interpret the period of service, additional interpretation was attempted through univariate local regression. CART, GUIDE, and CTREE formed different tree models which allow for various interpretations.

  • The current problems with the changing nature of the battlefield of the future point up the serious need for more and better research on the nature of effective military leadership. The purpose of this study was to examine effective leadership traits and behaviors of junior officers in combat situation. During times of peace, leader study battles and imagine themselves in all sorts of combat situations while at the same time, they must cope with numerous challenges and fill a variety of roles that they perceive are not battle related. This illustrates one of the fundamental paradoxes of the peacetime environment. Early studies, showing that combat leadership and noncombat leadership needed different talents, produced some clusters of traits which good combat leader were said to possess. Good combat leaders, for example, were described as possessing courage(e.g., bravery, fearlessness, daring, prowess, gallantry, guts, intrepidity, undaunted courage, fighting spirit, aggressive action), personal integrity(e.g., sincerity, flair, calmness, modesty), adaptability(e.g., flexibility, rapidity in action, speedy decision-making, clarity of thought) and so on. Behaviors found to be important in both combat and noncombat situations bore some relation to role requirements common to both situations. Behaviors important in one situation but not the other could be explained in terms of situational differences in role requirements for effective leadership. In order to achieve this purpose, a number of literature reviews were analysed. These results, though obtained in a somewhat rough and ready fashion, were useful not because they pointed to different leaders in war and in peace, but because they showed leaders the different things that were expected of them in different situations. It was also worth knowing how develop combat leadership. While these findings clearly suggest combat and noncombat differences, they do not necessarily confirm the complete study on effective leadership in combat situation. In conclusion, this study would be useful basis for further improvement on effective combat leadership and some further researches were recommended.

  • To examine the evidence that wheat bran is protective against breast cancer development and that its main mechanism of action is by modulating estrogen metabolism. This review explores the role of different experimental factors on the anticancer effects of wheat bran and the relationship of changes to estrogen metabolism by wheat bran on breast cancer risk The timing of the experimental diets in relation to carcinogen administration, the length of feeding of the experimental diets, and the level of dietary fat had an impact on the effectiveness of different doses of wheat bran in reducing breast carcinogenesis. Wheat bran supplementation resulted in significant reductions in human plasma estrogen levels but not in that of animals tested. The change in excretory metabolism of estrogen by wheat bran feeding in animals was not related to any of the tumor indices measured. The protective effect of wheat bran in breast carcinogenesis is greatest at the promotional phase and when supplemented in a high fat diet. Doses of wheat bran in the 9-12% range in diet have been consistently protective. The inconsistency observed with higher doses of wheat bran may be dependent on the animal model used. Although wheat bran's inhibitory effects on tumor growth may involve changes to estrogen metabolism, the fiber and phytochemical components of wheat bran may also act through estrogen-independent mechanisms. For a better understanding of the effect of wheat bran on breast carcinogenesis, studies comparing the effects of different wheat bran components both alone and in combination need to be performed.

  • It is evident that Korea will continue its battle with water shortage and alternative program are being taken into action. One of the main actions is reusing 1,800 tons of effluent of 357 sewage treatment plant located nationwide. Therefore this study supplemented ozone oxidation methods that would increase the efficiency of organic oxidation and coagulation. Through this method, fouling will be controled sufficiently by preventing membrane process in the system for advanced sewage treatment. In this study, ozone-coagulation-microfiltration membrane were used. The final removal efficiency of the pretreated water from the result of the ozone-coagulation were 50% of CODcr, 38% of TP and 11% of TOC respectively. Water quality treatment has decreased about 80% for TP. Ozone-coagulation-microfiltration membrane maintains the high flux while decreasing the number of organic matter and the membrane fouling, and reducing the TP. As a result, in order to reuse the water from the sewage, the ozone-coagulation-microfiltration membrane type must be considered in order to achieve the best efficiency.

  • Norman Mailer is one of the American writers who dramatize sensual pleasure in order to show how American idealism ends up being trapped and corrupted. The most remarkable cases are the tragic heroes of Scott Fitzgerald and the tough characters of Ernest Hemingway; while the former describes the victim of sensual pleasure, the latter brings the sensuality out from the darkness into 'the clean and well-lighted place.' In one of his most successful experimental fiction writings called 'New Journalism,' Mailer portrays the battle between the liberal left and the conservative right in the demonstration of 1967. Mailer achieves two things in this new technique. First, he demystifies the traditional epistemology grounded in the neutral and transparent narration and suggests that every narration can not escape mediation by a narrator. Secondly, he demonstrates that there is no clear distinction between good and bad. Rather, Good is nothing but a disguised form of Evil, and God is feasible only through the courageous action borrowed from Evil. In this technological world, devil is more powerful and attractive than God. This paper assumes the materiality of courage and focuses on the phenomenology of war carried out not from soul but from body, not from the consciousness but from the materiality.

  • In order to dominate the multiple-targets of high threat in the initial stage of combat, it is necessary to maximize the combat effect by rapidly firing as many weapons as possible within a short time. Therefore, it is mandatory to establish the effective weapon allocation and utilize them for the combat. In this paper, we propose a weapon assignment algorithm for rapid reaction in multi-target and multi-weapon environments. The proposed algorithm maximizes the combat effect by establishing the fire plan that enables the rapid action with the operation of low complexity. To show the superiority of our algorithm, we implement the evaluation and verification of performances through the simulation and visualization of our algorithm. Our experimental results show that the proposed algorithm perform the effective weapon assignment, which shows the high target assignment rate within the fast hour even under the large-scale battle environments. Therefore, our proposed scheme are expected to be highly useful when it is applied to real weapon systems.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to derive a substantive theory on lived experiences of elderly cancer patients. Methods: The data were collected from February to March 2018 through in-depth personal interviews with 14 elderly cancer patients. The collected data were analyzed based on Corbin and Strauss's grounded theory. Results: The core category was "the journey to find balance in daily lives as a cancer patient by recovering disturbed ego integrity." The core phenomenon was "shattered by suffering from cancer," and the causal conditions were "physical change" and "limitations in daily life." The contextual conditions were "decreased self-esteem," "feelings of guilt toward the family," and the sense of "economic burden." The participants' action and interaction strategies were "maintaining or avoiding social relations," "seeking meaning of the illness," "falling into despair," and "strengthening the willingness to battle the cancer." The intervening conditions were "support from health care providers and family," "dissatisfaction with health care providers," "spiritual help from religion," and "the improvement or worsening of health conditions." The consequences were "having a new insight for life," "living positively along with cancer illness," and "the loss of willingness to live." A summary of the series of processes includes the "crisis stage," "reorganizing stage," and the "ego integration stage." Conclusion: This study explored the holistic process of ego integrity impairment and the recovery experience of elderly cancer patients. This study is expected to be used as a basis for the development of nursing interventions that can support patients when coping with all stages of their cancer illness trajectory.

  • In this paper, we propose a solution to apply a proximity voice dialog system to voice dialog technology, one of the interaction systems in multimedia environments. A voice dialog between multiple users in a multimedia space is designed by adjusting the volume of the voice according to the distance between the user avatars and muting the user who is beyond the audible distance. The main feature of this research is a reliable UDP-based active server system that delivers low-quality voice data to users who are far away based on distance and does not transmit voice data to users who enter the inaudible area for economic development. The performance of the proposed system was measured in a previously completed project based on the Unity game engine, and it is expected that the system proposed in this research will be actively used in environments that provide interaction between multiple users such as met averse content and real-time battle action games.
