IMT2000을 위한 혼성마이크로 동력원 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Hybrid Micro Power Sources for the IMT2000)

  • IMT2000과 같은 휴대용 무선통신 시스템을 위한 혼성마이크로 동력원에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 혼성마이크로 동력원은 태양전지, 슈퍼커패시터, 리튬이온 전지로 이루어져 있다. 주기적인 펄스성 부하에 대응하기 위하여, 슈퍼 커패시터가 리튬이온 전지와 병렬로 연결되어 펄스전류를 흡수한다. 태양전지는 배터리에 전류를 공금하며, 최대전력점에서 동작하도록 제어된다. 펄스성 부하에도 적용될 수 있는 최대전력점 추적기법이 소개되며, 실험을 통해서 완벽한 추적성능을 입증하였다. 혼성마이크로 동력원들 간의 매칭을 위한 제어기 설계 기법이 제시되며, 실험을 통해 성능을 입증하였다.

Preparation and Characteristics of Li4Ti5O12 Anode Material for Hybrid Supercapacitor

  • Spinel-$Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was successfully synthesized by a solid-phase method at 800, 850, and $900^{\circ}C$ according to the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ cubic spinel phase structure. To achieve higher EDLC energy density with the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$, the negative electrode of the hybrid supercapacitor was studied in this work. The electrochemical performances of the hybrid supercapacitor and EDLC were characterized by constant current discharge curves, c-rate, and cycle performance testing. The capacitance (1st cycle) of the hybrid supercapacitor and EDLC was 209 and 109 F, respectively, which is higher than EDLC. The capacitance of the hybrid supercapacitor decreases from 209 F to 101 F after 20 cycles when discharged at several specific current densities ranging from 1 to 10 A. In contrast, capacitance of the EDLC hardly decreases after 20 cycles. Results show that hybrid supercapacitor benefits from the high rate capability of supercapacitor and high capacity of the battery. Findings also prove that the hybrid supercapacitor is an energy storage device where the supercapacitor and the Li ion secondary battery coexist in one cell system.

  • Energy harvesting from the vibration through the piezoelectric effect has been studied for powering the wireless sensor node. For the driving wireless sensor node, the generated energy is required to store the capacitor or battery. For the rapid charging, higher voltage than battery's capacity voltage and a large current are necessitated. However, the piezoelectric energy harvester is generally featured as a high voltage and low current generator. As it is known that the generated current in the piezoelectric energy harvester is related to an area of electrode of piezoelectric ceramics, we fabricated the multilayer ceramics to increase effective area for the faster charging. The energy harvesting properties and charging characteristics of multilyaer ceramics were investigated and discussed.

  • To cope with automobile exhaust gas regulations, ISG and charging control systems are applied to HEV vehicles for the purpose of improving fuel economy. These systems require quick charge-discharge performance of high current. Therefore, a Module of the AGM battery with high energy density and EDLC(Electric Double Layer Capacitor) with high power density are constructed to study the charging and discharging behavior. In CCA, which evaluates the starting performance at -18 ℃ & 30 ℃ with high current, EDLC contributed for about 8 sec at the beginning. At 0 ℃ CA (Charge Acceptance), the initial Charging current of the AGM/EDLC Module, is twice that of the AGM lead acid battery. To play the role of EDLC during high-current rapid charging and discharging, the condition of the AGM lead-acid battery is optimally maintained. As a result of a Standard of Battery Association of Japan (SBA) S0101 test, the service life of the Module of the AGM Lead Acid Battery/EDLC is found to improve by 2 times compared to that of the AGM Lead Acid Battery.

  • 기존 전기자전거의 경우에 사용되는 일반 배터리팩 방식에 비해 이중 배터리 팩 (Li-ion Batterty + Super Capacitor)의 방식이 동등 주행 성능 및 지속 시간 조건에서 무게 및 원가 저감이 가능하다. 또한 기존 승압형 Converter인 Boost Converter는 이중 배터리를 이용시 큰 inrush 전류를 발생시키고 이 전류로 인해 소자 파손에 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 입력 전압을 Li-ion Battery로, 출력 전압에 Super Capacitor를 연결하는 이중 배터리로 구성되고 기존 Boost converter 입력단에 Mosfet과 Diode를 추가하여 inrush 전류가 발생하지 않게 한다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 회로의 이론적 특성을 분석하고 실험을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The passive system requires RF-DC converter. RF-DC converter, which is used in microwave region, is more affected by parasitic elements than used in low frequency region. So it is difficult to make the converter. RF-DC converter usually consists of resonator, shottky diode, capacitor, voltage regulator. In this study, we used the rechargeable battery instead of capacitor. If any passive transponder requires more power than general transponder, battery tech of this components is important to apply for the passive system. In this paper, passive transponder, which requires more power than general passive transponder, is presented and compared to general passive transponder.

  • Due to the rise in energy consumption and natural resource prices, the demand to improve energy efficiency in the construction machine has been highlighted. Even though many researchers have contributed to the development of the technology, CO2 gas emissions of heavy machinery remains high. One of the most significant problems of the novel excavator with internal combustion engines is the emission of harmful gas. To reduce emissions in the construction machine, it is necessary to replace the internal combustion engines with the alternative one. To overcome those problems, this paper focuses on the adoption of PEMFC hybrid engine for the excavator system. An internal combustion engine is replaced by new structures with fuel cell, battery and ultra capacitor. The proposed system has been designed and modeled using Simcenter Amesim software and compared with the conventional one through simulation results.

  • 본 논문은 RTGC 시스템의 에너지 절감을 위한 에너지 저장 시스템에 대해 다룬다. 에너지 저장 시스템으로는 배터리, 슈퍼캐패시터 그리고 플라이휠의 장정과 단점이 조사되었다. 이들 에너지 저장 시스템들 중 플라이휠 에너지 저장시스템은 현재 해결되어야 할 기술 및 가격적인 측면에도 불구하고 향후 기술의 발전을 전제를 뒀을 때 매우 촉망받는 에너지 저장시스템임이 조사되었다. 또한, 컨테이너 이송에 사용되는 RTGC에서 베터리와 플라이휠 에너지 저장 시스템이 각각 사용된 경우에 대해 에너지 절감에 대한 결과가 정량적으로 조사되었다.

  • In order to level electric power of the photovoltaic and wind-turbine system and ensure fast response of the fuel-cell and micro-turbine, the energy storage is required in the microgrid system. In this paper, a simplified simulation model of the battery energy storage for charging method with IUIa is developed using PSCAD/EMTDC. The model consists of e.m.f.(electromotive force), internal resistor and overvoltage capacitor. A method for deciding parameters of the model on a case-by-case basis is proposed. The developed model can be used in the simulation of a complicated system such as a microgrid system.

  • This paper deal with development of on-line type voltage sag compensation system using supercapacitor EDLC to solve the voltage sag problems which are considered to be dominant disturbances affecting the power quality. With the wide use of semiconductor devices in electrical equipment, modem-type loads are becoming increasingly sensitive to the voltage sags and the disturbances prove to be costly to industries. Supercapacitor EDLC is employed to compensate dynamically for the voltage sag of system with sensitive loads. This capacitor has higher energy density than the electrolytic capacitor. Also, this capacitor has a lot of advantage such as no maintenance, longer life cycle and faster charge-discharge time than the battery system. Therefore, in this paper, the energy design scheme of supercapacitor and the configuration technique of on-line type voltage sag compensation systems are newly introduced. According to the results of experimental of prototype 5[kVA] system, it is verified that the developed system has effectiveness of voltage sag compensation by using a supercapacitor EDLC.
