Removal of reactive black 5 dye by using polyoxometalate-membrane

  • A POM-membrane was fabricated by immobilizing a keggin type polyoxometalate (POM) H5PV2Mo10O40 onto the surface of microporous flat-sheet polymeric polyvinylidene fluoride (PVFD) membrane using a chemical deposition method. The POM-membrane was characterized by FT-IR, SEM and EDX to confirm existing of the POM onto the membrane surface. The POM-membrane was used to remove an anionic textile dye (Reactive Black 5 named as an RB5) from aqueous phases with a cross-flow membrane filtration and a batch adsorption system. The dye removal efficiency of the POM-membrane using the cross-flow membrane filtration system and the batch adsorption system was about 88% and 98%, respectively. The influence factors such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, pH, and initial dye concentration were investigated to understand the adsorption mechanism of the RB5 dye onto the POM-membrane. To find the best fitting isotherm model, Langmuir, Freundlich, BET and Harkins-Jura isotherm models were used to analyze the experimental data. The isotherm analysis showed that the Langmuir isotherm model was found to the best fit for the adsorption data (R2 = 0.9982, qmax = 24.87 mg/g). Also, adsorption kinetic models showed the pseudo second order kinetic model was found the best model to fit the experimental data (R2 = 0.9989, q = 8.29 mg/g, C0 = 15 ppm). Moreover, after four times regeneration with HNO3 acid, the POM-membrane showed high regenerability without losing dye adsorption capacity.

  • 베어링은 기계가 작동할때 중요한 역할을 한다. 때문에, 베어링에 결함이 발생하면 기계전체의 치명적인 결함을 발생시킨다. 그러므로 베어링 결함은 조기에 발견되어야한다. 본 논문에서는 연속 웨이블릿 변환과 Switchable 정규화를 기반으로 한 합성곱 신경망(SN-CNN)을 이용한 방법을 베어링 결함 감지 모델에 대해 설명한다. 모델의 정확도는 Case Western Reserve University(CWRU) 베어링 데이터 집합을 사용하여 측정되었다. 또한 배치 정규화(BN, Batch Normalization)[1] 방법과 스펙트로그램 이미지가 모델 성능의 비교를 위해 사용되었다.

  • Recently, k-farthest neighbor (kFN) queries have not as much attention as k-nearest neighbor (kNN) queries. Therefore, this study considers moving k-farthest neighbor (MkFN) queries for spatial network databases. Given a positive integer k, a moving query point q, and a set of data points P, MkFN queries can constantly retrieve k data points that are farthest from the query point q. The challenge with processing MkFN queries in spatial networks is to avoid unnecessary or superfluous distance calculations between the query and associated data points. This study proposes a batch processing algorithm, called MOFA, to enable efficient processing of MkFN queries in spatial networks. MOFA aims to avoid dispensable distance computations based on the clustering of both query and data points. Moreover, a time complexity analysis is presented to clarify the effect of the clustering method on the query processing time. Extensive experiments using real-world roadmaps demonstrated the efficiency and scalability of the MOFA when compared with a conventional solution.

판재의 점진성형법에 대한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on Incremental Forming Method for Sheet Metal)

  • The technology of incremental forming has drawn attention for small-batch production of sheet metal components. In the present investigation a forming tool containing a freely-rotating ball was developed and applied to forming experiments. Deformation characteristics including crack occurred during forming with this tool was examined for full annealed Al1050 sheet. The finite element analysis was successfully applied to this special type of forming process, and provided results that agree well with the measurements.

  • The objective of this study is to develop the CAD system for 2 cell box culvert by ultimate strength design method. C-language & AutoCAD Rl2 were used to create user-friendly computing environment. Consequently, users can easily design 2 cell box culvert under the various conditions, such as design load, total fill depth, underground water level, strength of concrete, and so forth. This system is believed to improve the efficiency and economy by the batch processing of structural analysis, quick drafting and computation of material quantity in the 2 cell box culvert design.

  • In a transfer line with mass production capability, calibration systems are included in the process as a separate dedicated station. However, this method is not appropriate in an unattended FMC with flexibility. As the FMC produces vesatile parts with small batch sizes, more flexible calibration systems are required. In this paper, a calibration/inspection system suitable for an unattended turning cell is introduced. The system has functions of dimension calibration of parts by touch probes, tool wear compensation, and quality monitoring of parts. Furthermore, characteristics of errors in the system are identified and corresponding compensation methodology is suggested. An operation software was developed for efficient use of the system.

  • This paper presents a development of flexible bowl feeder without mechanical tooling for each specific part to be fed. This flexible bowl feeder is capable of recognising different orientations of components using optical fiber sensors and can be adjusted to feed different components by way of a simple programming method. The system would be suitable for feeding and sorting small components prior to auto,ated small batch assembly.

  • In immobilized cell reactors, effective cell mass is a very important parameter which must be estimated during operation for control and regeneration of biocatalyst. In this report, the effective cell mass in immobilized cell reactor was studied using a sequential estimation method. An immobilized yeast reactor was operated in batch recycle mode. The states of the immobilized cell reactor could be estimated from the process data using an extended Kalman filter.

  • A discrete-time priority queueing system with place reservation discipline is studied, in which two different types of packets arrive according to batch geometric streams. It is assumed that there is a reserved place in the queue. Whenever a high-priority packet enters the queue, it will seize the reserved place and make a new reservation at the end of the queue. Low-priority arrivals take place at the end of the queue in the usual way. Using the probability generating function method, the joint distribution of system state and the delay distribution for each type are obtained.
