  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of menswear designers and the process of becoming a menswear designer expert through qualitative evaluation and statistical analysis. This study used ten menswear designers with more than fifteen years of experience. After going through the University P IRB approval process, a semi-structured questionnaire was prepared and individual in-depth face-to-face or video interviews were conducted from March 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. From this qualitative study examining the characteristics of menswear designer job experience, four key themes were found: the competence required for the professionalization process of menswear designers; the creative sensibility of menswear designers; the uniqueness of menswear designers' work; basic education required for menswear designers. In order to find additional meaningful implications using the visual analysis technique, we examined the primary vocabulary using the word cloud technique and examined the relationship between the vocabulary using the network graph. In the follow-up study, we expect to develop a material-oriented education program for new menswear designers and to resolve the limitations of the study, targeting a small number of experienced menswear designers.

For that purpose, this study investigated the experiences of nurses in a general hospital with an 800-bed size, temporarily closed after a confirmed case of COVID-19. Methods: This study was a qualitative study using individual in-depth interviews, and data were collected from 10 nurses in a university hospital temporarily closed from May 1 to June 13, 2020. Results: As a result of this study, the subjects were classified into 'COVID-19 and nursing', 'nursing work and vocation' and 'life changed with COVID-19'. Conclusion: In conclusion, there is a need for education that nurtures the ability of nurses to screen patients with infectious diseases well and to skillfully wear and remove protective clothing. In addition, in order to cultivate the expertise of nurses and respond efficiently to infectious diseases, a separate compensation, such as a risk allowance, is required along with the establishment of an infrastructure that fully supports personnel and supplies. A mental health program to relieve stress is also required.

Methods: The participants were 10 men and women aged 40 to 60 years who received outpatient treatment at a university hospital, could communicate, and agreed to participate in the study. Data were collected through individual interviews using open and semi-structured questions from September 2019 to July 2021 and were analyzed using the content analysis method suggested by Hsieh and Shannon (2005). Results: As a result of this study, 42 summarized semantic units related to life experience, 15 subthemes, and seven themes were derived. The seven themes were "pressed by severe pain," "frustrated because I cannot be part of the community," "distressed because people do not recognize my disease," "sad about conflicts with family," "unmotivated because of desperate life," "appreciating for support," and "putting oneself together and living daily life." Conclusion: The vivid experiences of the participants derived in this study are the basic data for developing treatment guidelines. In the future, we propose a study on life and family care experiences according to the developmental characteristics of the life cycle of patients with complex regional pain syndrome and develop and apply programs to support patients and their families.

  • This study examined, through a qualitative approach, the viewpoints and beliefs toward divorce held by people who have experienced a divorce. In-depth interviews with divorced individuals (two males and twelve females) were conducted for this study. The findings of the study are summarized as follows. First, the participants of the study had a tendency to withdraw. In other words, they felt powerless and lonely, and they think of themselves as a failure. Second, they clearly recognized the double standard in society toward divorce. They strongly felt that people who had shown tolerant attitudes toward divorce when it was a distant phenomenon suddenly took a different attitude when a divorce occurred to a relative. The fact that openly stated viewpoints toward divorce can be significantly different than unstated attitudes made the participants' lives still harder by adding another burden to the difficulties they already faced from the divorce. As a result, they would rather hide the fact that they were divorced than be open about it with other people. Aside from highly significant others, they attempted to conceal their divorce from others whenever possible. Third, as people who have already experienced divorce, they seem to take a more careful attitude toward divorce than those who have not experienced a divorce. The participants pointed to the social responsibilities to promote public understanding and a sense of value about divorce, and they hoped that our society would communicate better about the difficulties of getting divorced from the perspective of those who have experienced divorce. The participants believed this would ultimately contribute to preventing divorce among others. This study is expected to expand understanding toward the phenomenon of divorce in Korean society, and further, to provide basic information for a clearer understanding of the current state of the Korean family.

  • In this paper, we would study the applicability of neural networks to the recognition process of Korean stenographic character image, applying the classification function, which is the greatest merit of those of neural networks applied to the various parts so far, to the stenographic character recognition, relatively simple classification work. Korean stenographic recognition algorithms, which recognize the characters by using some methods, have a quantitative problem that despite the simplicity of the structure, a lot of basic characters are impossible to classify into a type. They also have qualitative one that It Is not easy to classify characters fur the delicacy of the character farms. Even though this is the result of experiment under the limited environment of the basic characters, this shows the possibility that the stenographic characters can be recolonized effectively by neural network system. In this system, we got 90.86% recognition rate as an average.
