Data collection was conducted through three focus group interviews from September to October 2022, The subjects of the study were 13 nurses working fixed night shift. For analysis, all interviews were recorded and transcribed and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. In results, 5 themes, 11 categories and 24 subcategories were derived. The five themes were 'it's a voluntary choice', 'efforts to adapt to the shift', 'awareness about fixed night shift', and 'hope to improve the system'. The study aims to help understand fixed night shift work and systems by showing various night-duty experiences on the personal life of the nurses and to provide basic data for preparing measures to improve the system.

  • This research aimed to analyze the quality of center-based infant/toddler programs in Korea. Scale for infant and toddler programs divide accreditation standards into 4 areas(physical environment, curriculum, health care, management system) with 60 standards. Standards can be divided into basic criteria and general criteria. The subjects are 149 day care centers(44 infant day care centers and 105 day care centers), and raters(teachers or principal) assessed the quality of each item on a 5-point Likert scale. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Self-evaluation result have marked 3.67 as average(range : 2.32~4.90), which barely meets basic criteria level. 2) Physical environment area has received worst score(3.41) and Health care area has received best score(3.92). 3) Each standard's score indicate the quality of infant/toddler care program: Feed care(4.29), Affectionate teacher-infant interaction(4.14) were highly rated while Nature environment/anmal/plant(2.75) and Teacher's facilities(2.74) were rated low. 4) Some variation factors showed differences in the qualitative level; number of child, education level of principal.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of service-learning in connection with the major of nursing. Method: This is qualitative research based on the application of a focus-group research method and Glaser's grounded theory. The nine participants of the research participated in the process of developing a service-learning program to promote health in the elderly. They operated the program by acting as instructors for more than 12 months. Results: The basic socio-psychological problems hared by the participants of the research is 'burden'. The basic social process required to solve the problem is 'self-realization' which has been successively shown in the order of the stage of experiencing a surge of will, the stage of recognizing the occurrence of internal and external changes, the stage of being confident, and the stage of obtaining self-respect. Throughout the process, the participants solved 'burden' in a positive way through reflections and reciprocity, developing and strengthening their capabilities. Conclusion: Based on the results, it is necessary to consider the development of a service-learning program in connection with the nursing major in order to provide the students studying nursing with the opportunity to have various learning experiences.

  • Purpose: Sexuality is a fundamental element of human life and is closely related to mental health. This study was conducted to understand domestic research trends on gender, mental health, and psychological well-being through an integrated review. Methods: Through four domestic databases, 15 papers were finally selected using the search terms 'sex', 'mental health', and 'psychological well-being'. Results: Fifteen papers have been published since 2000 and 10 documents have been published since 2010. A majority of the studies were basic research and reviews, and these included four qualitative studies. Depending on the subject, we classified five articles into three themes by the developmental stages (youth, married women, and the elderly), eight sexual minority studies, and two other studies (right to sexual self-determination, and dating for people with disabilities). Conclusion: A more open social concern and approach to sex, the most basic human need, is warranted. The field of nursing practice requires more attention.

  • The purpose of this study is to present objective information in applying 3D printing technology for PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography) performance evaluation and use it as a basic research that can be applied to various purposes in the future. Phantoms were manufactured with step wedge of ABS(Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and ACR(Acrylic acid) material. The counts for each ROI(Region of Interest) were analyzed through image acquisition in PET/CT. And the variation rate of counts and CNR(Contrast Noise Ratio) was evaluated. In the counts analysis, the effect of thickness occurred. In addition, in the variation rate analysis, the thickness setting of steps wedge 4 to 5 levels should be considered first. These results minimize quantitative and qualitative changes in the phantom manufactured based on 3D printing, and enable more stable PET/CT performance evaluation. Based on 3D printing in PET/CT, various phantoms are expected to be produced in the future. If the characteristics of each material are considered and applied through the basic research such as this research, the result of the phantom manufactured through 3D printing can be more meaningful and will be used in a wide range.

  • This study explores the divergence of grounded theory focused on the differences of Glaser and Strauss. Grounded theory has been divided into two versions, Glaser version and Strauss version. Two versions are different in research methodology. Therefore, it is important for us to choose one of these two version. There are many grounded theory researches or qualitative researches by grounded theory approach in Korea. But Theses researches has been studied only Strauss version. Therefore this article introduces the differences of Glaser method and Strauss method in various aspects of research methods: basic logic of research process, core category and basic social process, and coding methods - especially axial coding, selective coding and theoretical coding. Glaser and Strauss argued differently in many aspects of grounded theory method.
