  • This study proposes a method for determining the optimal target size for an artillery range considering ballistics and environmental conditions. To this end, the size of the probable error of each type of ammunition and charge determined during shooting were considered, and the effect of the firing position and target terrain characteristics on the target size was analyzed. In conclusion, the size of the target increased as the range increased, and a larger target size was required for the DPICM than for the general high explosive. Accordingly, the optimal target size must be determined by considering various factors such as topographical characteristics, shooting position location, and shooting range safety standards.

  • The network analysis method has emerged as a new methodology for various disciplines, due to its ability to provide a representative knowledge network of references, co-authors and keywords. Bulletproof technology is an interdisciplinary field involving various disciplines, such as material mechanics, structural mechanics, and ballistics, so it is essential to keep up with the recent trends in technological research. In this research, the recent R&D trends in the field of bulletproof materials were analyzed using keyword based network analysis. From the results, the core keywords were identified as 'Composite', 'Model' and 'Head' using the scholar search engine, google scholar. The centrality analysis for the core keywords showed that bulletproof technology has developed in 3 different areas, viz. material, structure and effects. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first application of (network analysis?) to bulletproof technology. Moreover, we are also convinced that the results of this study will be useful for defense technology planning and determining the direction of R&D in the field of bulletproof technology.

  • For evaluating a large caliber ammunition tests, indoor ballistic test range is required to reduce the noise and fragments occurring during the test. To ensure the reliability of the indoor ballistics test range design, we carried out the analysis of the indoor test range using the AUTODYNE hydrodynamic code before its construction. The 120 mm tank ammunition is adopted as a reference model and we analysed the characteristics of the pressure distribution at fire area, the structure design at impact area, the over-pressure applied to the tunnel, and the sabot stopper design. The results of the analysis were applied to the design of the indoor ballistic test range.

  • The actual aircraft flight training can be done, but falls pilots primary flight training skills to the many risks and costs are formidable. It also requires considerable skill to follow at a higher risk of flight training is the same. These things through software simulation training can reduce the risk and cost of the expected risk situations such as virtual reality development and has the advantage that you can try. In this paper, the characteristics and actual aircraft flight dynamics of the considered armed ballistics software platform for game development by designing a student wants to become a pilot in the aircraft is to help you understand.

  • Projectile can be damaged during the storage and handling. Maximum range calculation of the ammunition was performed on the assumption that each projectiles have 1.5mm/3.3mm axisymetric dent on the surface. Drag coefficient for trajectory calculation was delivered from CFD using commercial software FLUENT. In the result of CFD, damaged projectiles those have 1.5mm/3.3mm axisymetric dent have similar drag coefficient compare with normal projectile in the region of subsonic. But, in supersonic region, drag coefficient was increased 3%, 9% each in average. In the result of trajectory calculation, Maximum rage was decreased 1%, 3% each.

  • The intermediate mixing chamber is one of various methods for improving the regression rate and combustion efficiency of the hybrid rocket. The mixing chamber with its non-combustible material makes the propulsion performance increase, but it leads to a low fuel-loading density in the combustion chamber; therefore, this performance-related trade-off between the mixing chamber and the low fuel-loading density was studied. In this study, the trade-off was conducted by comparing the intermediate-mixing-chamber case with a w/o-mixing-chamber case. The small hybrid-sounding rocket is designed with internal ballistics for comparing the rocket length to the weight. In addition, an external ballistic analysis was conducted for comparing the performances of the w/- and w/o-mixing-chamber cases. As a result, the intermediate-mixing-chamber case shows that the length and the weight were decreased to 12 % and 8 %, respectively; furthermore, when compared with the normal cases, the estimated altitude result of the w/-mixing-chamber case was increased to approximately 75 m.

  • Activated carbon spheres (ACS) were prepared at different heating rates by carbonization of the resole-type phenolic beads (PB) at $950^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ atmosphere followed by activation of the resultant char at different temperatures for 5 h in $CO_2$ atmosphere. Influence of heating rate on porosity and temperature on carbon structure and porosity of ACS were investigated. Effect of heating rate and temperature on porosity of ACS was also studied from adsorption isotherms of nitrogen at 77 K using BET method. The results revealed that ACS have exhibited a BET surface area and pore volume greater than $2260\;m^2/g$ and $1.63\;cm^3/g$ respectively. The structural characteristics variation of ACS with different temperature was studied using Raman spectroscopy. The results exhibited that amount of disorganized carbon affects both the pore structure and adsorption properties of ACS. ACS were also evaluated for structural information using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. ACS were evaluated for chemical composition using CHNS analysis. The ACS prepared different temperatures became more carbonaceous material compared to carbonized material. ACS have possessed well-developed pores structure which were verified by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). SEM micrographs also exhibited that ACS have possessed well-developed micro- and meso-pores structure and the pore size of ACS increased with increasing activation temperature.

  • Internal Ballistic modeling and performance prediction for solid propellant micro thruster was performed with heat loss to the chamber wall as an important factor of miniaturization. Simple l-D end-burner type thruster and general HTPB-AP type composite propellant were selected for computation model. The results showed that the performance loss with the heat loss to the surroundings becomes larger as the surface-to-volume ratio is increased. In this case, the total impulse was reduced about 3% of the case in adiabatic condition.

  • Currently, carbon-fiber reinforced plastics(CFRP) are widely used in both space and civil aircraft due to their superior stiffness and strength to weight ratios compared to conventional metallic materials. This paper is to study the effects of curvature and stacking sequence on the penetration characteristics of composite laminated shell. And were performed to investigate the penetration characteristics of composite laminated shells by the oblique impact. They are stacked to [0$_3$/90$_3$]s, [90$_3$/0$_3$]s and [0$_2$/90$_3$/0]s, [90$_2$/0$_3$/90]s their interlaminar number two and fore. They are manufactured to varied curvature radius (R=100, 150, 200mm and $\infty$). When the specimen is subjected to transverse impact by a steel ball, the velocity of the steel ball was measured both before and after impact by determining the time for it to pass two ballistics-screen sensor located a known distance apart. In general, the critical penetration energy interface decrease and slope angle on the impact surface increased. [0$_3$/90$_3$]s and [0$_2$/90$_3$]s specimens higher than [90$_3$/0$_3$]s and [90$_2$/0$_3$/90]s specimens.

  • Two erosive burning models were applied to compare analysis results of ballistic for the internal ballistics of solid rocket motors. By comparing motor tests with results of analysis, the variance of a grain shape was analyzed and coefficients of erosive burning were drawn. Results of comparison presents that the coefficient of erosive burning was proportional to the change of burning area, while inversely proportional to the change of cross area.
