  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect that difference in forefoot of shoe flexibility during the quick lunge from a jump smashing on the lower limbs and the plantar pressure distribution. For this 10 elite badminton players with over 10 years experience and right handed participated. Two kinds of badminton shoes were selected and tested mechanical testing for the forefoot flexibility. Motion analysis, ground reaction forces and plantar pressure distribution were recorded. It was required to conduct lunge movement after jumping smashing as possible as high. Photo sensor was located in 3 meter away from standing position and its height was 40 cm. Subjects were conducted to return original position after touching the sensor as under clear movement as possible as fast. Forefoot stiffness had an effect on shoe peak bending degree and peak bending angular velocity in propulsion phase. Forefoot flexibility had an effect on ankle plantar flexion and knee flexion moment. It appears that joint power on lower limb and peak plantar pressure were not influenced by the flexibility of shoes.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between performance level and ego orientation and task orientation, which are sub-factors of achievement goal orientation, targeting the Korean youth badminton national team. Accordingly, two null hypotheses were established and tried to verify that there would be no difference in ego orientation and task orientation according to the performance level of the badminton youth representative players. A total of 92 middle and high school students were divided into upper and lower performance groups, and the differences between ego orientation and task orientation were investigated, respectively. For the measurement, We used sports achievement goal orientation (task and ego orientation in a sports questionnaire, TEOSQ). Data were analyzed by performing frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and independent t-test. As a result, there was no statistically significant difference in both the ego orientation and task orientation between the upper and lower groups of performance. We discussed based on the research results.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of leadership behavioral patterns on athletic stress in Chinese badminton athletes. The subject of this study was nomadic sampling of 203 Chinese badminton players with or without experience in the national team. The results obtained by distributing a total of 203 questionnaires and processing the data according to the purpose of the study using 170 copies excluding unfaithful data among them are as follows. First, it appears that the leader leadership type and exercise stress according to demographic variables have a significant effect. Second, as a result of correlation analysis, there was a positive correlation between exercise stress and its sub-factors. A negative correlation was found with independent variables such as leadership behavioral style, democratic behavior, social support behavior, and positive reward behavior, and a positive correlation was found with training, directive behavior, and authoritative behavior. Second, it was found that exercise stress had a significant effect according to the type of leader leadership behavior.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the kinematics and electromyographic variables of the upper extremity for the backhand clear motion according to the type of hitting in badminton. Seven elite male university players were selected as the subjects. Four digital video cameras and Noraxon Telemyo 2400 were used to collect the 3D kinematics and electromyographic data. The results were as follows: 1) in the phase of impact, the time of motion for the overhead backhand clear was the longest, 2) in the event of impact, the distance of step toward X direction was the longest and the distance of step toward Y direction was the shortest for the overhead backhand clear, 3) in the event of backswing, the rotation angles of shoulder and pelvis and the flexion angle of shoulder for the overhead backhand clear were the biggest, 4) the maximum flexion angular velocity of shoulder and the maximum extension angular velocity of elbow for the overhead backhand clear were the biggest, and 5) in the phase of impact, mean EMG of the wrist flexor, triceps, and trapezius muscle for the overhead backhand clear was bigger than that for the underhand stroke and in the phase of follow-through, mean EMG of the wrist flexor and extensor, biceps, triceps, and trapezius muscle for the overhead backhand clear was the biggest.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how the leadership of a badminton club leader and the facility are related to the participation satisfaction and have an effect on it. 495 badminton club members in Daejeon took part in this study. According to the analysis, the interrelation between the leadership of a club leader and the participation satisfaction was positive. The interrelation of the badminton facility and the participation satisfaction was the same. While the effect of the leadership was remarkable, the club facility's was not negative but small. Therefore, both the leadership and the facility have an influence on club members. Since the former particularly has an significant effect on the satisfaction, it needs to be concerned.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the guideline for scientific and quantitative skill acquisition methods of badminton smashing so that the novice could learn the motions of badminton smashing efficiently. The subject participated consisted of total 6 middle school students of the stilled(3) and the unskilled(3). The cinematographical experimental & Analysis equipments used in the study were composed of two Model D-5100 Video Cameras, a control point, a synchronization timer and Kwon3d motion analysis system. The conclusions obtained were as follows, 1. It was necessary for the unskilled to learn the smashing impact phase in situation of max. velocity of COG in order to minimize the timing loss phase. 2. Particularly. The power from segments of Power Zone must participate in utilization in sequence of order of trunk-upper arm- forearm-hand-racket segment in both the skilled and the unskilled.. 3. Therefore it was necessary for the unskilled to do smashing practice for cumulated sum of absolute & relative velocity transfer into shuttle cock after adjusting anterior-posterior tilting angle and max timing, in sequence of segment recruited.

  • The purpose of this project was to determine biomechanical differences between Type A(Korean brand) and Type B(world top brand) badminton shoes and to make recommendations to improve the fit and function of Type A badminton shoes. Measurements of shoe shape and dimensions, foot movement within the shoe, cushioning of ground reaction forces, in-shoe pressure and outsole traction were performed. In addition, subjective feedback of the fit and function of the shoes was quantified for 17 recreational badminton players. Type A shoe had a much higher heel and shallower heel cup, so the heel was not secured well in the shoe and the ankle joint was higher off the ground. Foot slippage was up to 40% greater in Type A shoe than Type B shoe. Impact forces and peak pressures under the foot were generally higher with Type A shoe compared to Type B shoe. The flexion axis of Type A shoe occurred in the midfoot, not at the ball of the foot like Type B shoe, where you would want the shoe flexion to occur. In summary, there are several characteristics where A Type shoe and B Type differ. Therefore, a few recommendations are provided to help improve the fit and function of A Type shoe.

  • The present paper develops application of TSDT and MCST to analysis of a FG cylindrical micro-shell. The present model may be used as a sensor applicable in badminton net to detect contact. The radial and axial displacement components are described based on TSDT for more accurate analysis. The effect of small scales is accounted based on MCST. The solution is presented for a SS boundary condition to account the influence of various important parameters. A comparative analysis is presented to examine the effect of order of employed shear deformation theory on the axial and radial displacements.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the structural relationship between the participation behavior, excercise behavior, sport Image and exercise Continuation of the badminton club members, The results were as follows: First, the variables that affected the sport image for the item were fun among sub-factors of participation behavior, self-esteem and stress relief among sub-factors of exercise behaviors. Second, the sport image was affecting the exercise continuation. Finally, participation and Exercise behaviors indirectly affected the exercise continuation that through sport image. The results of this study proved that sport image plays an important role as a mediator in the relationship between participation behavior, exercise behavior, and exercise continuation, and it is meaningful to provide basic data on the role of the sport image.
