Numerical Study of Inlet and Impeller Flow Structures in Centrifugal Pump at Design and Off-design Points

  • The objective of present work is to use numerical simulation to investigate the complex three-dimensional and secondary flow structures developed at the inlet and impeller in a centrifugal pump at design and off-design points. The pump impeller is shrouded with 6 backward swept blades and with a specific speed of 0.8574. The characteristic of the pump is measured experimentally with straight and curved intake sections. Numerical computation is carried out to investigate the pump inlet flow structures and subsequently the flow field within the centrifugal pump. The numerical results showed that strong interaction between the impeller eye and intake section. Secondary flow structure occurs upstream at the pump inlet has great influence on the pump performance and flow structure within the impeller.

  • Based on the problems of untimely Expressway fire rescue and backward traditional fire rescue methods, an emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is designed. The overall mechanical structure design of emergency fire fighting and inspection robot riding on expressway guardrail is completed by using three-dimensional design software. The target fire detection is realized by using the target detection algorithm of Yolov5; By selecting a variety of sensors and using the control method of multi algorithm fusion, the basic function of robot on duty early warning is realized, and it has the ability of intelligent fire extinguishing. The BMS battery charging and discharging system is used to detect the real-time power of the robot. The design of the expressway emergency fire fighting and inspection robot provides a new technical means for the development of emergency fire fighting equipment, and improves the reliability and efficiency of expressway emergency fire fighting.

An inverse LQG/LTR problem applied to the vehicle steering system

  • This paper describes the robust controller design methods applied to the problem of an automatic system for tow-vehicle/trailer combinations. This study followed an inverse Linear Quadratic Regulator(LQR) approach which combines pole assignment methods with conventional LOR methods. It overcomes two concerns associated with these separate methods. It overcomes the robustness problems associated with pole placement methods and trial and error required in the application of the LQR problem. Moreover, a Kalman filter is used as the observer, but is modified by using the loop transfer recovery (LTR) technique with modified transmission zero assignment. The proposed inverse LQG,/LTR controllers enhances the forward motion stability and maneuverability of the combination vehicles. At high speeds, where the inherent yaw damping of the vehicle system decreases, the controller operates to maintain an adequate level of yaw damping. At backward moton, both 4WS (2WS tow-vehicle, 2WS trailer) and 6WS (4WS tow-vehicle, 2WS trailer) control laws are proposed by using inverse LQG/LTR method. To evaluate the stability and robustness of the proposed controllers, simulations for both forward and backward motion were conducted using a detailed nonlinear model. The proposed controllers are significantly more robust than the previous controllers and continues to operate effectively in spite of parameter perturbations that would cause previous controllers to enters limit cycles or to loose stability.

직사각형 리튬 이온 전지의 일체형 안전장치 제조 공정에 관한 연구 (Manufacturing Integral Safety Vents in Prismatic Lithium-ion Batteries)

  • A safety vent is crucial to protect its user from unpredictable explosions caused by increasing internal pressure of the lithium-ion batteries. In order to prevent the explosion of the battery, a safety vent rupture is required when the internal pressure reaches a critical value. In conventional manufacturing, the cap plate and the safety vent are fabricated separately and subsequently welded to each other. In the current study, a manufacturing process including a backward extrusion and coining process is suggested to produce an integral safety vent which also has the benefit of increasing production efficiency. FE simulations were conducted to predict the rupture pressure and to design the safety vent using a ductile fracture criterion and the element deletion method. The critical value, C, in the ductile fracture criterion was obtained from uniaxial tensile tests with an annealed sheet of 1050-H14 aluminum alloy. Rupture tests were preformed to measure the rupture pressure of the safety vent. The results met the required rupture pressure within 8.5±0.5 kgf/cm2. The simulation results were compared with experimental results, which showed that the predicted rupture pressures are in good agreement with experimentally measured ones with a maximum error of only 3.9%.

냉간 압출된 유성기어의 내부결함 방지 (Prevention of Internal Defects of Cold Extruded Planetary Gears)

  • It is investigated that internal defect of planetary gear which consists of two gears with different number of teeth on both side. The internal defect, central burst, begin to form at the place of adiabatic shear band which usually has maximum ductile fracture value during the forming operation, forward and backward extrusion. It makes the plastic forming of planetary gear difficult. The prediction of defect to minimize the cost to produce the planetary gear. The finite element simulation code DEFORM is applied to analyze the defects. In the analysis, the toothed gears are assumed as axisymmetric cylinders whose diameters are equal to those of pitch circles of the each gears. Experiments were carried out with the SCM415 alloy steel as billet material and AIDA 630-ton knuckle-joint press. The calculated results and experimental inspections are compared to design a die and blank without defects and the results are useful to predict the internal defect.

SOC Verification Based on WGL

  • The growing market of multimedia and digital signal processing requires significant data-path portions of SoCs. However, the common models for verification are not suitable for SoCs. A novel model--WGL (Weighted Generalized List) is proposed, which is based on the general-list decomposition of polynomials, with three different weights and manipulation rules introduced to effect node sharing and the canonicity. Timing parameters and operations on them are also considered. Examples show the word-level WGL is the only model to linearly represent the common word-level functions and the bit-level WGL is especially suitable for arithmetic intensive circuits. The model is proved to be a uniform and efficient model for both bit-level and word-level functions. Then Based on the WGL model, a backward-construction logic-verification approach is presented, which reduces time and space complexity for multipliers to polynomial complexity(time complexity is less than $O(n^{3.6})$ and space complexity is less than $O(n^{1.5})$) without hierarchical partitioning. Finally, a construction methodology of word-level polynomials is also presented in order to implement complex high-level verification, which combines order computation and coefficient solving, and adopts an efficient backward approach. The construction complexity is much less than the existing ones, e.g. the construction time for multipliers grows at the power of less than 1.6 in the size of the input word without increasing the maximal space required. The WGL model and the verification methods based on WGL show their theoretical and applicable significance in SoC design.

  • 본 논문은 CATV 가입자 망 관리 시스템 구현에 관한 것으로 기존의 수동형 관리 시스템의 비효율성을 제거하기 위해 자동화된 집중식 통합관리 시스템을 구현하였다. 이를 위해 기존의 주파수대역 중에서 비디오 신호의 송신에 사용되지 않은 대역을 확보하여 제어신호의 송수신이 이루어지는 제어대역으로 사용하는 송$.$수신 시스템 및 자동화 분배기를 설계하였으며, 상$.$하향통신 및 하향통신방식이 공유된 형태로 RS-232를 이용한 9600bps의 송수신 시스템 및 자동화 단말기를 구현하였다. 또한 구현된 시스템의 운영 관리를 위한 CATV망 통합관리 시스템의 구성은 가입자 관리를 위한 ID생성부, 송수신부, 제어부, 자료백업부로 구성되며 윈도우 기반의 C++로 구현하였다.

PCS 기지국용 표면실장형 후진파 3dB 커플러의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of SMD Type Backward Wave 3dB Coupler for PCS Basestation)

  • 본 논문에서는 PCS 기지국용 표면실장형 후진파 3dB 커플러의 회로설계, 제작 및 특성측정을 수행하였다. 제작된 커플러는 상용제품과 동일한 외형과 크기로 (0.56x0.35 Inches) 제작하여 1 : 1 로 대치가 가능하도록 하였으며, 동작주파수 1.75 ∼ 1.98GHz 대역에서 우수한 특성을 얻었다. 제작된 커플러의 특성은 삽입손실 0.295dB 이하, 분리도 -30.31dB 이하, 진폭균일도 0.05dB 이하, 위상균일도 0.02°이하, 입력 및 출력 임피던스 정합은 -30.08, -39.72 dB 이하의 특성을 나타냈다.

다양한 롤러 단면형상을 적용한 유동성형의 성형력 비교 (Comparison on the Forming Force of Flow Forming with Various Roller Profiles)

  • The flow forming has been used to produce long thin walled tube parts, with the reduced fanning force and the enhanced mechanical and surface quality for a good finished part, compared with the fanned parts using other method. Therefore, flow fanning technique is used widely in industrial production. Spinning and flow fanning techniques are used frequently in automotive, aerial and defense industries. The main factors for the flow fanning machine design are motor power, bed rigidity, mandrel stiffness, spindle power, roller profile, etc. Especially, mandrel, spindle power and roller are important factors for flow fanning machine capacity. In this paper, three dimensional finite element method for analysis of one-roller backward flow fanning of a workpiece has been carried out to study effects of roller profile on fanning force. Applied roller profile have roller lead geometries of angle $20^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;40^{\circ}$, concave and convex. Axial and radial fanning forces on various roller profiles are obtained and compared with each analysis cases.

유한요소해석을 통한 컵형상 대형단조품의 성형공법 설계 (Forging process design of cup shaped large forging using finite element method)

  • 본 연구는 내경부에 깊은 구멍이 있는 컵형상의 대형단조품을 형단조와 자유단조 공법을 복합하여 성형하기 위한 단조공법 개발에 관한 것이다. 제안된 단조공법은 형단조를 이용하여 예비성형체를 성형하고 코깅 공법을 이용하여 후방압출 형상을 성형하는 방법이다. 유한요소해석에서 제안된 공법이 후방압출공법에 비하여 낮은 성형하중으로 더 높은 유효변형율을 나타내었다. 제안된 공법으로 시제품을 제작하여 내부품질이 양호한 제품을 적은 용량을 프레스로 성형할 수 있음을 확인하여 제안 공법의 타당성을 검증하였다.
