Fault Detection of the Control System Based on Multiprocessors (다중 프로세서를 이용한 제어 시스템에서의 자체고장탐지)

  • The reliability enhancement is the critical issue in many computer applications, particulary in process control system. In this paper we describe how to achieve the reliability improvement in control system which is based on multiprocessors. The proposed method is accomplished by using the techniques of fault detection which composed by internal and external fault detections, fault isolation for removing the fault propagation, safety action for driving safe input, and fault diagnosis. This approach is experimented and asopted in boiler backup control system constructed by VMEbus system, CPU boards, graphic system, and other interface boards with UNIX operating system.

  • In this paper, a method for implementing software for the control system with dual structure in processor module is proposed and implemented to enhance its reliability. In this implementation the multi-tasking function which is provided by a real-time operating system is applied. The overall softwre is divided into five tasks and is performed in each of the dual processor module, independently. By this, the processor module with dual structure can achieve a control objective and fault diagnostics effectively. An experimental result shows that the backup processor module can be substituted for the primary processor module immediately when it happens to fail, because data relating the failure information are exchanged continuously done via shared memories.

  • The Internet advances and the documents of existing Is provided on web. An amount of data is increased through amendment and addition of information. The web is wide and is used and to follow the users of the majority which acquires information depend in web, the necessity of the data management by web is increasing. The sudden system failure frequently occurs from network environment, we must protect data from this danger. In this paper, we present data management system, which is composed of backup and restoration. This system provides systematic, efficient and stable data management on web.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop a new priority setting algorithm that considers the cross-impact of the future technology alternatives and that satisfies the final goal of the technology management through multi-hierarchy evaluation criteria. By combining the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model, which is a well-known priority setting model, and Cross Impact Analysis (CIA) model, which is a technological forecasting method that considers cross-impact among R&D Items, we developed an Integrated Cross-Impact Hierarchical (CIH) model, which sets the priority by considering technological forecasting and technology dependency simultaneously. A step-by-step numerical example of the model developed here is presented as backup of its practicality.

  • As more and more critical commercial applications move on the Internet, providing highly available servers becomes increasingly important. One of the advantages of a clustered system is that it has hardware and software redundancy. High availability can be provided by detecting node or daemon failure and reconfiguring the system appropriately so that the workload can be taken over bi the remaining nodes in the cluster. This paper presents how to provide the guaranteeing high availability of clustering web server. The load balancer becomes a single failure point of the whole system. In order to prevent the failure of the load balancer, we setup a backup server using heartbeat, fake, mon, and checkpointing fault-tolerance method. For high availability of file servers in the cluster, we setup coda file system. Coda is a advanced network fault-tolerance distributed file system.

  • Distance relaying is one of the most commonly used protection schemes in the high voltage transmission systems. In this scheme, coordination between the primary and backup relays is very critical for the power system security. This paper reports an rule-based methodology for checking and correction of miscoordination problems in the distance relaying. Diagnosis rules achieving an accurate but simple checking have been developed through the geometric analysis of the impedance characteristics of the distance relays. Heuristic rules having the pratical power for miscoordination correction are suggested. The proposed method has proved very effective through the several case studies on the actual systems.

  • Mobile SCTP (mSCTP) is a new scheme which can be used to provide seamless handover for the mobile node. The reason that is possible is because of the SCTP extension which provides a method to reconfigure IP address on an existing SCTP association (ADDIP). While mSCTP focuses on an association originated ken mobile node (MN) toward fixed correspondent node (CN), mSCTP with Mobile IP support an association originated from CN toward MN by using the Home Agent in Mobile IP and location management. However, there are still some problems related to communication interruption. In this paper, we present a new scheme to solve these problems. The main idea of this scheme is using the home address of MN as a backup path of an SCTP association.

  • P2P streaming technology has advantages of scalability and availability comparing to the popular IP multicast. This paper proposes an approach to apply the P2P streaming technology to the delay-sensitive multimedia multicast applications. In order for the P2P streaming to be applied to the delay-sensitive applications, prior construction of delay-guaranteed overlay network is necessarily required. Moreover, the delay-guaranteed overlay network should be able to be kept even when the hand-overs occur owing to the departures of the intermediate P2P peers. This paper proposes a delay-guaranteed overlay network construction method by using the bandwidth and end-to-end delay based admission control and the backup peer based hand-over control mechanism.

  • 백업전원 기능을 갖는 BESS 시스템은 계통이상 시 계통연계모드에서 독립운전모드로 전환해야 하며 이때 중요부하에 과도상태 없는 안정적인 전압을 공급해야 한다. 기존의 전류제어 방법은 모드전환 시 과도상태가 발생하여 중요부하에 심각한 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 백업전원 기능을 갖는 BESS를 위한 양방향인버터에서 간접전류제어기법을 기반으로 양방향제어 및 끊김없는 모드전환 기법을 제안한다.

  • 클러스터 기반 라우팅 방법에서 클러스터 헤드에 고장이 발생하면, 전달되지 못하는 센서 데이터가 존재한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 각 클러스터마다 백업 클러스터 헤드를 지정함으로써 원래의 클러스터 헤드에 고장이 발생했을 때 백업 클러스터 헤드가 그 역할을 대신하도록 하는 방법이 연구되고 있다. 백업 클러스터 헤드를 이용한 방법에서는 어떤 노드를 백업 클러스터 헤드로 선출하느냐에 따라 무선센서네트워크의 성능이 좌우된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 무선센서네트워크의 에너지 효율성을 높이기 위해 퍼지를 이용하여 각 클러스터의 백업 클러스터 헤드를 선출하는 방법을 제안한다.
