$Ba_2SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ ($B_2S:Eu^{2+}$) powders were prepared by firing the dry gel obtained by the sol-gel and the hybrid process (sol-gel and combustion), respectively, and their structure and luminescence were investigated. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) was used as a Si source. The phase transition was observed with the TEOS content. With 1.2M TEOS, the powders prepared by the sol-gel process without prior calcination were composed of the $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ single phase, whereas those by the sol-gel and the hybrid process with prior calcination consisted of the dominant $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ and minor $BaSiO_3:Eu^{2+}$ ($BS:Eu^{2+}$) phases and their emission intensities were approximately two times higher than those without prior calcination. The hybrid process could reduce the process time innovatively compared to the sol-gel process, even though the former was a little inferior to the latter in the emission intensity of $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$. With 1.1M TEOS, the $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ single phase was obtained by the hybrid process, and its green emission was observed at 505 nm originated from the $4f^65d^1{\rightarrow}4f^7$ transition of $Eu^{2+}$ ions.
Zr modified $(Ba_{1-x},Sr_x)TiO_3$ thin films as capacitor for high density DRAM were deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering. The films deposited at various chamber pressure exhibited a polycrystalline structure. The Zr/Ti ratio of the films increased significantly with decreasing the chamber pressure and this variation affected the microstructure and surface roughness of films When chamber pressure increased dielectric constant of the films effected due to decrease of Zr. The thin films prepared in this study show dielectric constant of 380 to 525 at 100KHz. The variation of capacitance and polarization measured as a function of bias voltage suggested that all films were paraelectric phases. Leakage current exhibited smaller value as chamber pressure decrease and the leakage current density of the films deposited above 10mTorr was $10^{-7}~10^{-8}A/cm^2$ order at 200kV/cm. $(Ba_{1-x},Sr_x)(Ti_{1-y},Zr_y)O_3$ thin films in this study appeared to be potential thin film capacitor for high density DRAM.

Epoxy/$BaTiO_3$composite capacitor films with excellent stability at room temperature, uniform thickness, and electrical properties over a large area ware successfully fabricated. The composite capacitor films with good film formation capability and easy process ability were made from epoxy resin developed for ACF as a matrix and two kinds of $BaTiO_3$powders as fillers to increase the dielectric constant of the composite film. The crystal structure of the powders and its effects on dielectric constant of the films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). And the optimum amount of dispersant, phosphate ester, was determined by viscosity measurement of suspension. DSC and dielectric property tests were conducted to decide the right curing temperature and the optimum amount of the curing agent. As a result, the capacitors of 7 $\mu \textrm{m}$ thick film with 10 nF/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and low leakage current were successfully demonstrated.

In this study, the structural and microwave dilelectric properties of 0.15BaO-0.15SmS12TOSI3T-0.7TiOS12T ceramics with sintering and annealing conditions were investigated. In the specimen sintered at 1350 [$^{\circ}C$], dielectric constant and quality factor were good values of 80.19,2006 (fS10T=4.6851[GHz]). To improve the $\tau$S1fT of specimen which was manufactured by the optimumsintering condition (1350[$^{\circ}C$],2[Hr.]), annealed from 2[hr.] to 16[hr.] at the annealing temperature of 1200 [$^{\circ}C$]. Increasing the annealing time, dielectric constant was almost constant and quality factor was increased. In the specimen of 4[hr.] annealed, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency was minimum value, and increased with increasing the annealing time.
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are multipotent cells that reside in the bone marrow and replenish all adult hematopoietic lineages throughoutthe lifetime. In this study, we analyzed the expression of receptors of $P2Y_{10}$, purinergic receptor families in murine hematopoietic stem cells, hematopoietic progenitor cells. In addition, the biological activity of $P2Y_{10}$ was investigated with B lymphocyte cell line, Ba/F3 in effect to cell growth and cell cycle. From the analysis of expression in hematopoieticstem cell. and progenitor with RT-PCR, $P2Y_{10}$ was strongly expressed in murine hematopoieticstem cells (c-kit+ Sca-l+ Lin-) and progenitor cell population, such as c-kit- Sca-l+ Lin-, c-kit+ Sca-l- Lin- and c-kit- Sca-l- Lin-. To investigate the biological effects by $P2Y_{10}$, retroviral vector from subcloned murine $P2Y_{10}$ cDNA was used fur gene introduction into Ba/F3 cells, and stable transfectant cells were obtained by flow cytometry sorting. In cell proliferation assay, the proliferation ability of $P2Y_{10}$ receptor genetransfected cells was strongly inhibited, and the cell cycle was arrested at G1 phase. These result suggest that the $P2Y_{10}$ may be involved the biological activity in hematopoietic stem cells and immature B lymphocytes.
Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the difference of brain activities in viewing a common emotional situation according to perspective-taking. Methods : Using fMRI, brain activities were measured while performing the task viewing a common emotional situation on either self-perspective or third-person perspective in fourteen healthy men. The relatively activated brain areas on each perspective were investigated, then the relationship between the activated brain regions and the scores of self report about some emotion or empathic ability were explored. Results : The relatively activated brain areas on self-perspective were bilateral paracentral lobule(BA 5), right postcentral gyrus(BA 3), right precentral gyrus(BA 4), left superior temporal gyrus(BA 22), left medial frontal gyrus(BA 6), whereas on third-person perspective right inferior frontal gyrus(BA 47), left caudate body and tail, right superior temporal gyrus(BA 38), right medial frontal gyrus(BA 8) were activated. The relative activity of left superior temporal gyrus on self-perspective was positively correlated with the score of Beck Depression Inventory. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that the activated brain region according to perspective-taking were different while viewing a common emotional situation. The depressive feeling would have an influence on the brain activity related to perspective-taking.

Nuclear fuel cladding tubes are manufactured through pilgering and the annealing process. In order to remove the oxidized layer and impurities on the surface of the tube, a pickling process is required. Zirconium (Zr) is dissolved in a HF and $HNO_3$ acid mixture during the process and the pickling waste acid, including the dissolved Zr, is completely discarded after neutralization. This study observes the effects of the residual impurities (Ba) in the pickling solution regenerated from the $BaF_2$ precipitation process on the waste pickling solution. In addition, the concentration of Ba and Zr for the actual nuclear fuel cladding tube process was optimized. The regenerated pickling solution was tested through a pilot plant pickling process device that simulates the commercial pickling process of nuclear fuel cladding tubes, and the pickling efficiency was analyzed through AFM analysis of the roughness of the cladding tube surface.

To reduce noise in high frequency and distortion of signal, the composition of $(Ca_{0.7}Sr_{0.3})(Zr_{0.97}Ti_{0.03})O_3$ and $(Ba_{0.2}Ca_{0.4}Sr_{0.4})TiO_3$ was developed. The composition was not solid solution, but mixtures of various phases composed of Ca, Sr, Zr, Ti and Ba oxides. The dielectric constant increased, the quality factor and the insulation resistance decreased with $(Ba_{0.2}Ca_{0.4}Sr_{0.4})TiO_3$ content. The composition of $0.4(Ba_{0.2}Ca_{0.4}Sr_{0.4})TiO_3$ satisfied the electric characteristics and the temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (TCC). In addition, the glass frit and $MnO_2$ also affected the electric characteristics. From the result of the best fit simulation, $MnO_2$ 0.3 mol%, the glass frit 0.6 wt% showed the insulation resistance $906{\Omega}{\cdot}F$, the quality factor 821, and the dielectric constant 92. With the selected composition, MLCC capacitors sized $4.5{\times}3.2{\times}2.5mm$ were manufactured with 105 layered of the dielectric thickness $16{\mu}m$ using Ni inner electrode, They represented the capacitance $98{\sim}102$ nF, the quality factor 1,200 and the insulation resistance $1,500{\Omega}{\cdot}F$. Also, they had high break-down voltage with $107{\sim}115V/{\mu}m$, and satisfied the SL TCC characteristics.
The luminescence properties of $Sr_{1-x}Ba_xTiO_3:Pr$, Al red phosphor for Field Emission Displays (FEDs) have been investigated in powders prepared though solid-state reactions. $Sr_{1-x}Ba_xTiO_3:Pr$, Al red phosphors indicate a higher luminescent intensity, and have been found to have potential for field emission displays. The addition of Ba increased the luminescence intensity at 617 nm by up to 30%. Ba ions are effective in producing the energy transfers from host-to-activator in 4f-5d transitions.

M-type hexagonal BaFe$\sub$12/O$\sub$19/ ferrite powder was prepared by sol-gel process. The M-type hexagonal structure with ${\alpha}$ = 5.882 and c = 23.215 ${\AA}$ and its Curie temperature T$\sub$C/ was determined 780${\pm}$3 K. The isomer shifts of ,4f$_2$, 2a. 4f$_1$, 12k, and 2b were indicated 0.26, 0.24, 0.15, 0.25, and 0.24 mm/s, therefore, the valence states of the Fe ions were ferric (Fe$\^$3+/). By the law of approach to saturation (LAS), the effective anisotropy field H$\sub$A/ and crystalline anisotropy constant K$_1$ were estimated. The value of K$_1$ and H$\sub$A/ were K$_1$ = 2.5${\times}$10$\^6/erg/cm^3$ and H$\sub$A/ = 14 kOe, respectively.
