Objective: The objectives of the current study were to study the main environmental factors affecting birth weight (BW) and weaning weight (WW), estimate variance components, genetic parameters and genetic trend and to evaluate the variability and relationships among breeding value of BW and WW using principal components analysis (PCA). Methods: A total of 16,370 records were collected from 8,271 buffalo calves. Genetic parameters and breeding values were estimated using a bivariate animal model which includes direct, maternal and permanent maternal effects. These estimates were standardized and used in PCA. Results: The direct heritability estimates were 0.06 and 0.41 for BW and WW, respectively whereas direct maternal heritability values were 0.03 and 0.14, respectively. Proportions of variance due to permanent environmental effects of dam were 0.455 and 0.280 for BW and WW respectively. The genetic correlation between BW and WWs was weak approaching zero, but the maternal correlation was 0.26. The first two principal components (PC1 and PC2) were estimated utilizing the standardized breeding values according to Kaiser method. The total variance explained by the first two PCs was 71.17% in which 45.91% and 25.25% were explained by PC1 and PC2, respectively. The direct breeding values of BW were related to PC2 but those of WW and maternal breeding values of BW and WWs were associated with PC1. Conclusion: The results of genetic parameters and PCA indicate that BW and WWs were not genetically correlated and improving growth traits of Egyptian buffaloes could be achieved using WW without any adverse effect by BW.
Biosilica is a silica-based substance derived from the cell walls (frustules) of diatoms. Recently, research into biosilica's biological functions is underway, but little has been reported on the effects of biosilica on immune cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of ionized biosilica water (iBW) on dendritic cells (DCs), which play crucial roles as antigen (Ag)-presenting cells. Treatment with iBW increased the expression of immune response-related markers, closely connected to the maturation of DCs, and the production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha. In addition, iBW-treated DCs (iBW-DCs) had a lower uptake of fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran than that of control DCs. Mixed leukocyte response analysis used for measuring the Ag-presenting capability of DCs, showed iBW-DCs had a higher capability than that of control DCs. Interestingly, DCs treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and iBW had a lower level of Ag-presenting capability than that of LPS-treated DCs. Taken together, the results indicate that iBW alone can mature DCs, but it decreases the Ag-presenting capability of DCs in the presence of LPS, a representative agent of inflammation. This study may provide valuable information regarding the effect of iBW on immune cells. Further research is needed to investigate how iBW induces the observed biphasic immunomodulatory activity.
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of artificial light sources on growth, yield, and glucosinolate content of hydoroponically grown Peucedanum japonicum in plant factory. Treatments were given with LED Blue:White(1:1, B:W), LED Red:Blue:White(2:1:3, RBW), and LED Blue:White(1:1)+Florescent lamp(BW+FL). Number of harvested leaves and leaf weight of BW+FL were higher than BW and RBW. BW+FL in leaf length and RBW in leaf width were significant difference with other treatments. Chlorophyll content and 'L' value were not significant difference among the treatments. The 'a' and 'b' value is the lowest in BW+FL. Glucosinolate content was high in order of glucobrassicin, glucoiberin, sinigrin, gluconasturtiin, progoitrin, glucoraphamin, and epiprogoitrin in all treatments, and total glucosinolate content was the highest in RBW treatment. Moisture, crude protein, crude fat, and ash content of leaves were not different among the treatments. In conclusion, this study showed that light caused growth and secondary metabolites synthesis, and we recommend to further study between light and secondary metabolites for increasing functionality.
We investigated the effects of feeding rate on the growth performance, blood components, and histology of growing olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. We determined the optimum feeding rate (initial fish mean weight of $240{\pm}10.9$ g) at the optimum water temperature. Two replicated groups of fish were fed a commercial diet at rates of 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0% body weight (BW) per day, and to satiation. Feeding trial was conducted using a flow-through system with 10 1.2-metric ton aquaria receiving filtered seawater at $19-21^{\circ}C$ for three weeks. Weight gain (WG) for fish fed to satiation was significantly higher than that of unfed fish and fish fed at 0.5% and 0.75% BW per day. The WG of fish fed at 1.0% BW per day was significantly higher than that of unfed fish and of fish fed at 0.5% BW per day. However, there were no significant differences in WG between fish fed at 0.5% BW per day and those fed at 0.75% BW per day, between fish fed at 0.75% BW per day and those fed at 1.0% BW per day, and between fish fed at 1.0% BW per day and those fed to satiation. The specific growth rates of fish fed at 1.0% BW per day and those fed to satiation were significantly higher than those of unfed fish and of fish fed at 0.5% BW per day. Broken-line regression analysis of weight gain showed that the optimum feeding rate of olive flounder weighing 240 g was 1.09% BW per day at the optimum water temperature.

In this study, the daily intake of preservatives in the Korean population was estimated, using data from national health and nutrition studies regarding the concentration of preservatives in each type of food, food intake by sex, age group, and weight. The level of safety of these preservatives was evaluated via comparisons with the acceptable daily intake (ADI) data established by the Joint FAO/WHO expert committee on food additives (JECFA). The Estimated daily intake (EDI) of sorbic acid is 495.85 ${\mu}g$/kg bw, benzoic acid is 215.34 ${\mu}g$/kg bw and parahydroxybenzoate is 5.01 ${\mu}g$/kg bw per day each. Their percentages in relation to ADI are 2, 4.3, and 0.1%, respectively. The comparatively high-consuming groups were taking sorbic acid 1,012.06 ${\mu}g$/kg bw, benzoic acid 229.56 ${\mu}g$/kg bw, and parahydroxybenzoate 11.58 ${\mu}g$/kg bw per day, and their intake levels as a percentage of ADI were 4.1, 4.6, 0.1%, all within safe levels. Males were found to have taken more benzoic acid than women, whereas we detected no sighificant differences in the intakes of sorbic acid and parahydroxybenzoate between males and females. The EDI of sorbic acid, benzoic acid, and parahydroxybenzoate were lower than the ADI in all age groups studied.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia BW-13 is a potent biocontrol agent to control crisphead lettuce bottom rot caused by Rhizoctonia solani. To define the optimum conditions for the mass production of the S. maltophilia BW-13, we have investigated optimum culture conditions and effects of various carbon sources on the bacterial growth. The optimum initial pH and temperature were determined as pH $6.0\~7.0 and $35^{\circ}C$, respectively. For the selection of effective carbon source for the mass production, we tested the low molecular carbon sources such as sucrose, glucose, lactose, maltose, manose and the high molecular carbon source such as dough conditioner, rice bran, corn starch, sweet potato starch. As the results, the addition of dough conditioner in a basal medium ($1.25\%\;K_{2}HPO_4,\;0.38\%\;KH_{2}PO_4,\;0.01\%\;MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_{2}O,\;0.5\%\;Yeast extract$) was able to achieve higher cell density and the antifungal activity than others. Therefore, the basal medium containing $3\%$ dough conditioner (named as dough conditioner medium) was finally selected the optimized media for the mass production of BW-13 strain.
A selection experiment for reduced residual feed intake (RFI) in Yorkshire pigs consisted of a line selected for lower RFI (LRFI) and a random control line (CTRL). Longitudinal measurements of daily feed intake (DFI) and body weight (BW) from generation 5 of this experiment were used. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the use of random regression (RR) and nonlinear mixed models to predict DFI and BW for individual pigs, accounting for the substantial missing information that characterizes these data, and to evaluate the effect of selection for RFI on BW and DFI curves. Forty RR models with different-order polynomials of age as fixed and random effects, and with homogeneous or heterogeneous residual variance by month of age, were fitted for both DFI and BW. Based on predicted residual sum of squares (PRESS) and residual diagnostics, the quadratic polynomial RR model was identified to be best, but with heterogeneous residual variance for DFI and homogeneous residual variance for BW. Compared to the simple quadratic and linear regression models for individual pigs, these RR models decreased PRESS by 1% and 2% for DFI and by 42% and 36% for BW on boars and gilts, respectively. Given the same number of random effects as the polynomial RR models, i.e., two for BW and one for DFI, the non-linear Gompertz model predicted better than the polynomial RR models but not as good as higher order polynomial RR models. After five generations of selection for reduced RFI, the LRFI line had a lower population curve for DFI and BW than the CTRL line, especially towards the end of the growth period.
Objective: The study was carried out to evaluate the hepatoprotective and antioxidant potential of Ziziphus mucronata (ZM) fruit extract. Methods: The different types of fruit extract were prepared by soaking the dry powdered fruit in different solvents followed by rotary evaporation. Each extract was tested for its phenol content and antioxidant activities. An in vivo study was performed in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Thirty adult male SD rats (aged 21 weeks) were divided into six groups of five rats each and treated as follows: The normal control (NC) received distilled water while the dimethoate control (DC) received 6 mg/kg.bw.day-1 dimethoate dissolved in distilled water. The experimental groups E1, E2, E3, and E0 received dimethoate (6 mg/kg.bw) + ZMFM (100 mg/kg.bw-1), dimethoate (6 mg/kg.bw) + ZMFM (200 mg/kg.bw-1), dimethoate (6 mg/kg.bw) + ZMFM (300 mg/kg.bw-1), and ZMFM (300 mg/kg.bw-1) only. Both the normal control and the dimethoate control groups were used to compare the results. After 90 days, rats were sacrificed, blood was collected for biochemical assays, and livers were harvested for histological study. Results: High phenol content was estimated, and 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl radical (DPPH) spectrophotometric, thin layer chromatography (TLC) and 2, 2-Azobis-3-ethyl benzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) assays showed a high antioxidant activity among the extracts. The preventive effects observed in the E1, E2 and E3 groups proved that the extract could prevent dimethoate toxicity by maintaining normal reduced glutathione (GSH), vitamin C and E, superoxide dismutase, catalase, cholineasterase and lipid profiles. The preventive effect was observed to be dose dependent. The EO group showed no extract-induced toxicity. Histological observations agreed with the results obtained in the biochemical studies. Conclusion: The study demonstrated that ZM methanol fruit extract is capable of attenuating dimethoate-induced toxicity because of its high antioxidant activity.
The purpose of this study was to biomechanical analysis Judo's Kuzushi throwing motion in order to increase the effectiveness of Nage-waja(throwing technique). The Tori was a Judo player with 18 years experience(4th degree) while the Uke was a player with 2 years experience(1st degree). The kinematic data was captured using the Vicon motion system (7 cameras) and the kinetics were recorded by force plates(2 AMTI). The following were the results; While leaning to the front the subject's trunk's angle was $14.5^{\circ}$, the lower limbs angle was $23.8^{\circ}$, knee angle was $179.6^{\circ}$ and the vertical reaction of the left leg was 325.42N(BW 0.34) and the right leg was 233.7N(BW 0.47). While leaning back the subject's trunk's angle was $11.3^{\circ}$, the lower limbs angle was $4.1^{\circ}$, knee angle was $1761^{\circ}$ and the vertical reaction of the left leg was 299.53N(BW 0.43) and the right leg was 441.7N(BW 0.64). While leaning to the left the subject's trunk's angle was $30.8^{\circ}$, the lower limbs angle was $2.7^{\circ}$, knee angle was $175.2^{\circ}$ and the vertical reaction of the left leg was 711N(BW 1.03) and the right leg was 9.2N(BW 0.01). While leaning to the right the subject's trunk's angle was $36.5^{\circ}$, the lower limbs angle was $10.4^{\circ}$, knee angle was $175.2^{\circ}$ and the vertical reaction of the left leg was 13.2N(BW 0.02) and the right leg was 694.7N(BW 1.01). It was observed that during the Judo motion Kuzushii the range of the COM varied from $26.5{\sim}39.9cm$. It was concluded that the upper body leaned further than the lower body as there was knee extension. There was high left leg reaction forces while leaning to the left and likewise for the right side. It was therefore deduced that the Kuzushi was a more effective throwing technique for the left side.
Objective : To verify the separate and combined effects of cadmium and nickel on blood pressure in rats. Methods : Following the daily administration of cadmium chloride$(CdCl_2)$ and nickel chloride$(NiCl_2)$ to rats both individually and in combination with intraperitoneal injection method for one week, systolic blood pressure of the tail was measured at 1 day and 5, 10, 20, 30 days after administration. Each substance was injected into the rats with 0.1 mg/kg bw and 1.0 mg/kg bw concentration. Results : After 0.1 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ was injected, a statistically significant difference was found as compared with the control group(only saline) after 1, 5 and 10 days. After 0.1 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ was injected, a statistically significant difference was not found compared with the control group. After 0.1 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ and 0.1 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ were injected simultaneously, a statistically significant difference was found as compared with the control group after 1,5 and 10 days and compared with 0.1 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ group after 5 days and as compared with 0.1 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ group after 5 and 10 days. After 1.0 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ was injected, a statistically significant difference was found as compared with the control group after 1, 5, 10 and 20 days. After 1.0 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ was injected, a statistically significant difference was found as compared with the control group after 1 day and 5 days. After 1.0 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ and 1.0 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ were injected in combination, a statistically significant difference was found after 1, 5, 10, 20 and 30 days as compared with 1.0 mg/kg bw $CdCl_2$ after 10, 20 and 30 days and as compared with 1.0 mg/kg bw $NiCl_2$ after 5, 10, 20 and 30 days. Conclusion : It was found that the effect of $CdCl_2$ on blood pressure was much more than $NiCl_2$ and a high concentration $CdCl_2\;and\;NiCl_2$ in combination delayed the recovery of blood pressure.

제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
